ProWalks - Amazing video, which ticket did you have to be able to go underneath? We are going next month and I’m wondering which ticket to buy, would a RomaPass cover it? Thank you!
@Kepano 808HI He has the ability to cut and splice so we really dont know how much editing he has done. I appreciate the consistent pace that these walks are done. No interaction with others is fine with me. That would be waste of my time as a viewer. Thanx for walking tours. I have watched many of them. Spent many hours taking these walks.
I've seen the collesium on TV and it just does not do justice to the massive size of this complex. Your camera view makes one appreciate even more that this place was built by hand and without modern machines. Absolutely incredible.
Hey guys, I came to your videos because my mom who cant travel to these places loves to watch them and really enjoys them. She doesnt speak english so I was thinking that if you ever want to in translate the english texts to spanish I can do it as a support for your channel,. at least if you could add them as closed captions for other viewers that might not understand them, maybe we could collaborate somehow, not looking for money nor anything else, just helping echoter out. Best wishes and great channel!
Thank you very much for posting these types of videos. I am a disabled combat veteran and due to health reasons I will never be able to go to these places; Through you I can.
Hey, well first, thank you for your service. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. If there is any place you'd like to see around here (southern Italy) or if you have any suggestions for my videos feel free to let me know.
The Colosseum provided people with building material over centuries as pieces of the Colosseum fell to the ground during earthquake. The Colosseum had a marble façade and marble seats on the inside. When they were looking around for material to build Saint Peter's Basilica in the 15th century, the Colosseum was the closest "quarry." When you visit Saint Peter's Vatican, you are also visiting part of the Colosseum. What a great tour you have given us.
@@rswow how can you imagine this bullshit pal, with all due respect I think it is obvious that to take even a piece of the colosseum in st peter you should destroy the church and on the top of that these pieces are not how you think, they have been re worked and reused, they are not just stones on the wall
@@rswow at the time was part of papal state which was made up of central italy . popes ordered the demolition of many roman buildings for building materials, had they not there would be more to see in rome. luckily the bronze doors of the pantheon were spared after it was initially ordered to melt down
This is perhaps the best "Virtual Walking Tour" I have ever seen. The additional information you provided throughout the video made it all that much better. Thank you. Bravo!!!
One of the things my family and I did during our visit to the Colosseum back in Oct 2004 was to turn off the cherry cell phone, we did our best to ignore the chattering tourists & immerse ourselves in the experience of sight and imagination, one can really feel the bloody spectacles that took place therein, it was a fantastic moment for us, thank you for your excellent work.
One thing that struck me about the Colosseum was that, although the actual inside of the arena was such a complete ruin that it took a huge amount of imagination to appreciate it, walking the concourse was an amazing experience (as seen in the first 5 minutes). To me, it was amazing to know I was walking the same ground thousands of Romans walked while going to and from the actual viewing stands.
Stripped of its marbled glory. Been there just 3 weeks ago. This great video offers recollections and add-ons to parts I’ve never seen like the underground dungeons. Thanks.
Just discovered your videos today. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to travel to places I will never have the pleasure of going. The best thing is that you dated this tour September 23, 2017 which is coincidentally my birthday, so what a treat this was. It definitely beats where i did go that day by leaps and bounds! LOL! Keep up the fantastic work that you do - it is most appreciated!!!
Hi Sharon, thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. Yeah, watching a documentary on the Colosseum doesn't have the same effect as actually being there so i hope the video made you feel like now you've really seen it.....on your birthday. :) thanks for watching. If you have any walking video suggestions feel free to let me know.
Not only you are preserving the memory of these incredible places, but you are also providing education and entertainment for a lot of people all around the world! During these hard times we are living, your videos are a breath of fresh air and a great source of sanity. Thank you so much!
@MUFC This is a tour of the Roman Colosseum. There's no one here pushing any particular sport. What does your obsession with soccer have to do with this video? And do you have a crystal ball, that you're making these predictions? If anyone were even remotely interested in the future you're peddling, they wouldn't be HERE.
Thank you for this thoroughly fantastic tour. No talking, just focusing on all areas, levels, steps, ceiling, floor, walls. It truly took my imagination there. The view on the third level just led me to think, what were they thinking as they saw that view during that era. It was amazing with no distractions.
Thanks for this tour. It is impressive to see the Colosseum after so many years of being built. I cannot travel but these videos make me transport myself to the places that interest me. Greetings from Mexico.
WOW... your video tours are so impressive, very nicely done and no camera shakes... I've been watching them on the huge screen and I really enjoying them! Keep up the good work!
I was in Rome one week ago and enjoyed great visits to the Palatine Hill and Colosseum, as well as other places. Your videos of both these places are absolutely stunning. Brilliant work and so nice to just SEE the places and recall all the happy memories I have of them rather than listen to someone else's idea of what I am looking at. I am certain that these two videos are the very best I have ever seen of this type of presentation. Many, many thanks.
Hey, thanks for the great compliment! Yeah, I figure the focus of the videos should be the site, not me. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos and that they help remind you of your trip.
If only the Colosseum could talk hey. Amazing place with so much history. Thank you so much for this great video. We all appreciate it. From Australia 🇦🇺
While I sit in my house sick & under quarantine in northern California from possibly having caught the coronavirus in Italy a week & a half ago, I was not able to go inside the Colosseum then because the ticket lines were too long, however, I did go around it a few times outside. I just want to thank you for the hour long walking tour of the inside which I am enjoying immensely! And by the way, I haven’t developed a fever and I am going to be off quarantine March 1.
If you are going back to Rome again you walk to the roman forum ticket box up the hill from attraction, no long lines, VIP pass to to Colosseum included in ticket
Hey Robert, I hope you are doing well. I know things are still pretty crazy over there in California. Here in Italy things aren't going too well but time will tell. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour. Sorry you weren't able to go in while you are there. I would like to go back here soon and film it again while it is all empty. Thanks for watching Robert.
Thank you for uploading this. It's such a treat, I can't think of a way I'd ever get this view without a virtual walk and this is not hard on the old knees. Peace and Love.
Hi this is really terrific, it really gives me the sense of being there, with the natural sound of the people and the subtle illustrations, thank you so much
This magnificent structure stands as a testament of the power and glory of an empire that spanned a vast territory. A people of incredible architural genius capable of building great structures many of which are still standing and in use today. They conquered all of of modern day Europe and beyond spreading their culture and knowledge,. governance and structure to often uncivilized regions. they paved the way to the world we live in today. As we walk past or within the walls of these incredible structures of those long past civilizations we should be in awe of their greatness because we live in their shadows and we shall never see their likes again. Thank you for the great job you did bringing this video to us.
Thank you so much❤ Always enjoy your uploads. Have only seen the Coliseum in Books & History Channels. If I never get to Rome .... this video made the trip for me.⚘
WOW...Thank you so very, very much...your virtual tour of the Eiffel Tower was absolutely THE best and easiest explained and viewed tour I have ever done...I congratulate you for explaining and answering all concerns regarding this magnificent structure....You have made me now even more than ever before so eager to reach the summit of this spectacular monument. GOD BLESS YOU HUGS....from Australia
Loved the vid... i went there October 8th for the 1st time and it blew my mind... Rome itself was beautiful and the Colosseum tour i had was great. However... you vid has shown me the other side of the colosseum that our tour guide did not show ! So im very greatful of this video. Stunning !!
Hey thanks. I filmed a another Colosseum walk in 2020 when their were no tourists and the Colosseum was empty. They wouldn't let you wander around on your own though so my "tour" is not very complete. I still might post it up. Glad you enjoyed this one. Thanks for watching.
Appreciate the tour. You do a fantastic job! I’ve never really wanted to visit the Colosseum because of the horror and death of humans and animals which is its history. However, it is a stark reminder that still stands, reminding us of humanity’s vulgar atrocities. If we don’t know history, we are doomed to repeat it. Felt like I was there and now I don’t have to physically go there. Thank you for taking us along! Blessings New sub
Excellent tour and captures the Colosseum very well. Visited here ten years ago and it was much less crowded then than here. Hope to visit Rome again some day.
I just wanted to say thank you so very much for sharing this video with us all , it's unlikely that I'll ever get to Europe and see great places of antiquity, this video allowed me to really get a good view of what the Colosseum was like,,,,,,,, btw ,,,,,,,, I bet you're feet were tired after the walk around there ,,,,,,,, anyway,,,,,,,,,, I sincerely appreciate this video and the care that was given in making it , nicely done .👍
Muchísimas gracias. It was much better than the small tour I did when I went there in 2016. I didn't pay the extra money to go to the bottom. Very nice video. Thank you so much. 😊
Thank you for taking the Video and presenting it to us freely. It is a mammoth job to do the restoration for the complex ( I do not think they will ever do it ). Thanks once again, We thoroughly enjoyed it.
I was annoyed at first with the tourists...but they give a fantastic perspective to the absolute gigantic size of this beautiful structure. I hope to visit here one day but if I can't , I can see this on youtube. Thanks for posting.
What an amazing video! Thanks for the detailed tour of the colosseum! 👍 I hope I can visit in person some day. 😊. I can almost feel an overlap of energies, ancient and modern. The modern has more open gentle vibe of freedom. God be thanked for the modern age!
An excellent video about one of the most horrific places in human history. The feeling one gets in the Hypogeum is chilly; just fathom the number of souls preparing to be perished there.
This is great, one thing you cannot appreciate from pictures unless you have been there is the huge size, no wonder they had to fill the arena up with exotic beasts and spectacle, would have been hard to see from the top tiers.
Thank you for sharing this I don't think I'll ever have the pleasure to go here thanks to you at least I can see what its like inside this Mighty Colosseum.
These video's are fantastic. Also, 16:30 those steps are no joke. We went as high as they would let us go when I was there, and I had to stop for a breather.
I can't wrap my mind around the fact that security was handled by Roman Centurions in the plated and pleated skirts with their short swords. It's just crazy when you think about how old the place is, and the things that went on. So fascinating
HI Dixie, Thanks. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I'll be uploading my 15 mile walk of Rome this evening and this weekend I am heading to Matera, Italy.
Brilliant I went there about 20 years ago I didn’t see much as my friend wouldn’t stop talking! & I promised myself I would return minus my friend... it’s such a brilliant video I have no need to go there now! .. no entrance fee ..no queuing ..no sun burn .. heaven , all in your own front room no queueing for a cup of tea or packet of crisps .. love it thank you 🙏 🏴
Hi Pamela, I'm glad you enjoyed it and I do hope you get to go back sometime. :) Right now though they only let in small groups at a time. I went there a month ago. It was kind of nice to see the Colosseum empty but we weren't allowed to wander around and the tour guide kept making sure we were always in the group. Anyway, I will be posting up a new video here soon of the Colosseum, this time with narration I hope. Thanks for watching!
Amazing!! Didn’t realise how big it is inside..Both by sisters have been there (a bit jealous) sooo may people visiting on that day too! Crazy. I wonder if it’s like this all year round. Thanks for shareing 😊🙏🏻
Hey tanb8, yeah Rome barely has an "off" season. If it is a nice day then it is crowded. The Colosseum video was taken at the end of September. Glad you liked it!
I have always wanted to go to Italy. Even as a small child. I am now 70 and next year Im going. I like to study and have an idea of what Im going to see and who these people were, what were their accomplishments, and know my way around. These walking tours have done that for me. Im getting my bearings about the city of Rome. Still dont know where I will stay yet.
Hi Linda, that is great to hear. I hope you enjoy your trip. If you need any help making a decision about where to stay just let me know.....but I would recommend a place near a metro stop....and the most central metro stop is at the Spanish Steps.
@@ProWalks I sure will. I enjoyed the Pompeii prowalk and trying to catch your image in the reflection of the glass. That was fun. You were the walking camera with a baseball hat. Nice to see you are real and have a smiling face.
My mother’s family came from Italy. I doubt I’ll ever be able to go. Your videos are fantastic. I wonder what my great grandmother used to look like and what they did for work.
Hard for me to comprehend how men 2000 years ago with basic tools could have collect, cut, place all this titan amount of stones and bricks in 10 years only!!!! Amazing!
They had some pretty advanced cement. Which honestly I think they used better cement than we use today. Look at modern roads. No way modern cement would stand 2,000 years.
I wish they would complete the seating area around where they had installed the floor. You could get a much better look at how it was back in the days it was used. They could put on shows imitating the battles that were held. Great job on the walk through. That was great. Thumbs up!
Great camera work, new sub here, I wanna see where else you’ve been, I was lucky to be in Rome in 2017, brought back great memories, we had fine weather too🇮🇪😊
Excellent picturisation but cant imagine how it existed while it was functional, but the movie Gladiator gave rough picture, or otherwise its only ruins of the past. Thanks to the film maker, when i visted this place in the year 2006, due to time constraints i couldn't go in and see, now my wish got fulfilled. Thank you once again.
Excellent video, you have no idea how much I love your walk videos,I could never have imagined seeing all the 4 levels of the colosseum,I just subscribed your channel,so relaxing, your effoert are much appreciated.
Hey Dave, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! It has been fun making these videos and giving people access to something they might not ever see. The weather here has been pretty dark and dreary for the last several weeks so I haven't gone out on any walks lately. I should be going up to Rome this weekend though to do some more walking.
ProWalks hope the weather gets better, can't wait to see more videos,it's become a ritual for me ,after coming from work I make myself some dinner and a cup of tea and the the watch the videos while I eat, sure is a great way to relax after a long day of work, can you make a video of small towns or places away from the tourist crowds, will much appreciate it.
