So excited by this project Annie and can’t wait to get started tonight! I’m feeling the pull towards green as everything is so lush here after all the rain we have been having plus the veg patch is a jungle 😂 thanks for all the effort you have put into putting this project together - so thrilled to be adventuring along with you and will be working mine in fabric and stitch. Will share some videos as I go. Cheers, Christine
Wonderful Christine, I'm so pleased you'll be playing alongside me and can't wait to see your spin on this - I think it will easily adapt to any arts and crafts, once we really get going I plan to bring in all my favourites :)
Halloooo!! This is going to be enormous FUN! I haven't been truly excited by an idea in quite awhile. I've been working on 5 commissions since August and I've been so stressed with that and with work. Whilst I was beyond proud and pleased to sell/give my hard work away, I was so relieved to have the last piece out of here! Now I can focus on my next path. My own Ohuhu mixed media journal arrived yesterday! How's that for timing?? I'm so tickled. I've started to go through my art supplies to gather some things to send to you and to revisit tools that I've not used much over the last year or so. Thank you for sparking my imagination with this lovely project, Annie! Looking forward to Saturday. Much love and bless xoxoxo
Hallooooo back!! Firstly Lindsey wow! well done you for getting and completing FIVE commissions, that's pretty impressive - although I can imagine it would be stressful too. I'm so excited that you're going to be joining me on this adventure, I hope you'll have lots of fun with it - have you chosen a colour for your first session yet? I'd love to see some pics when you get going on it, maybe you could share some in discord or FB? see you on Saturday :) xo
I think greens are a great choice Annie. I’ve gone with all shades of purples using a small book of rag paper it’s great for colouring and stitching into. Thank you Annie great start to the New Year. x💐
Thanks Jen, and thanks for the inspiration to start this project in the first place! I'm very happy to have you alongside me on this journey :) Ah purples will be gorgeous and the little rag paper book sounds perfect, I can't wait to see what you pull together :)
Hello Annie, I'm Vera a new subscriber watching in beautiful green Ireland and hope to join in and have a bit of fun with colour as well. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones and all your subscribers. ❤
Hello Vera, welcome to my channel and thank you for subscribing - I hope you will consider joining the Discord community and/or Facebook group as well, so you can get to know us all and share your creations. Ah I love Ireland, I have family there, beautiful country. Are you going to go for green then? I would love to see some pics :) Happy New Year to you and yours as well xo
Hmmmm, so thought provoking. I’m gonna have to have a rummage then rewatch this so I can see if I need more. It may be a day or two before I start, but wow this is the sort of ‘art’ I can do. Green is one of my favourite colours too, it goes with everything else.
Brilliant, I'm so happy you're going to play along with me Kathy, and yes absolutely, this is going to be the kind of art anyone can do - as we go along and develop our ideas and explore more colours, it will be easy to adapt it to suit whichever arts and crafts you most enjoy. For this first "exercise" you could just do a double-page spread in a journal or sketchbook, it doesn't have to be a whole little book if that's too daunting. Main thing is to have fun with it - and share some pics pretty please, I always love to see :)
Thank you Dawn and happy 2024 to you and yours. Yes, a time to explore sounds like an exciting start to the year, I look forward to watching your explorations too :) xo
I'm so happy you're joining Tori, and no I'm not the least bit surprised - although plenty of scope coming up for some of your other fave colours. Really looking forward to seeing your take on this and looking forward to joining in with your postcard SAL too - we just neeed more hours in the day - but it's ok cos sleep is for the weak right?! :)
There are so many exciting projects on offer this new year! I need to figure out how to celebrate one of my favorite colosr in stitch. I have a few ideas, it will be a matter of deciding color and format... 😁
Yes indeed Sue, my list is growing all the time! There are lots of ways you could do this in stitch aren't there, hardest bit will be deciding as you say - I hope you'll share some pics of your colour collection and your progress, I would love to see your take on this :)
This is a very inspirational blog and has caught my imagination, I would love to join in with you. My chosen colour is Orange/copper tones, I created a journal in 2021 using Khadi paper of all colours I think this would lend itself for sewing and mixed media! Excited to begin. X
Wonderful! I'm really happy you're going to join me Lynette and orange/copper tones will be lovely. Yes, as you say, this project will work well for stitching, mixed media, felting, I might even bring in a bit of crochet, I think you could adapt it to any arts and crafts you like - please share some pics of your progress, I'd love to see :)
You don't half know how to get the creative excitement going Annie 😂 I'm going to start looking through reds or purples to see what I can find and have a go as I really need to understand more about colours and how they work together. This looks like so much fun.
Have fun Linda! I'm so happy you're going to be joining me - it would be lovely to see all the reds or purples you find, please do share some pics of your collection - my coffee table in the sitting room is a sea of green this morning, didn't quite finish last night :)
I appreciate that Gillian. Sharing my inspiration has become my purpose in life, my arty-farty adventures are so much more fun when I can share them with you lot! :)
going to gather tonight, choosing a colour will be the hardest thing but Im looking forward to having an excuse just to play, no end goal! thanks Annie
Well I'm answering this comment a couple of days late so I feel like a time traveller now and I already know what a gorgeous collection you pulled together, can't wait to see where you take it. As you say, just play, enjoy the process, no end goal necessary :)
Happy New Year Annie, to you and your family! Love this video, as I’ve had a complete creative block for such a long time and wow you just popped up with a simple but exciting start to your project and it inspired me! Thankyou! Laura ❤️❤️❤️
Happy new year Laura to you and yours. Ah I'm so happy that you feel inspired - hoping this will be an easy-going but challenging project which can be adapted to fit your favourite arts and crafts and suit whatever time and supplies you have, so everyone can enjoy it. Please do share some pics if you give it a go, I've loved seeing people's collections of different colour and all the different spins on the idea already, that makes me very happy :)
Ok this looks fun and you get to make a book. Yep I’m going to give this a go. Have watercolour paper I can use for pages and if I colour up calico it will turn green. Mine will be a slower so much slower still I have a few new art supplies (gasp I know Christmas supper treat for me from hubby and the girls were very naughty they got together and brought me W&N water markers keep getting them out and just looking at them) and maybe some old ones love the idea of mixing paper and fabric in a book together. Right I’m of slow start to me morning today um I watched a few videos. Still fun day ahead know. Thanks for showing us this and your excitement is infectious but in a good way.
Thanks Paula, I'm so pleased you're joining us and love what you've done already. Oooh W&N water markers, didn't even know they made those! Lucky duck! hehe glad I'm infectious in a good way :)
Thank you Maggie, yep green is gorgeous and just works with every other colour for me - I was amazed how much I could find without leaving my craft room! Would be lovely if you join us on this journey, I would love to see your spin on this project :)
@@artyfartyannie not yet but I will when I get back to London at the weekend. I have a bag full of stuff already from my Cheltenham sewing room but I have more blue collected stuff to add to it. Excited, love yours , I’ve just watched the second video.💕
Love the video but I'm so not a green person at all I have to really train myself to love green My favourite colours are purples, pinks, blues, and greys all the cool colours So my book when I get around to it will be purple xx
Hello Annie and happy birthday! I can not thank you enough for promoting our scrap bags on your channel. The Bazaar team have been frantically making more ready for this week because it’s the Stitch Fest in London. Alex has gone today to set it up and will be working there from Thursday until Sunday, and over the weekend our young son Daniel will also be helping out. I’ve told them to look out for you in the crowd - maybe you will be there?! Meanwhile, I’m in India and I’ve been making a concerted effort to find more scraps - it’s an exciting journey into the world of scrap fabrics here which I’ve been writing long rambling stories about over on our Facebook page. Lots of love to you for a very happy birthday week, from Jo xxxx
Hey Jo! Thanks very much, I was spoiled rotten for at least two weeks for my birthday and was given some beautiful things which will keep on bringing me joy for a long time to come :) I am SO happy to recommend your scrap bags, I love them and I'm a huge fan of Bazaar for many reasons! and YES I am going to the Stitch Festival, I'll be there on Saturday afternoon, so I will definitely be seeking our your stand and hopefully will get to say hi to Alex and Daniel. Have fun in India and happy hunting for more of those wonderful scraps - I might have to top up on Saturday if there are any left! xo
Thank you :) Go for it Beverly! And please do share pics of your collection and your progress as you go along - links to the Facebook group and Discord community in the description box :)
