He's screwing all the noobs to painting because: 1. Cyan/magenta/yellow does not come from printing and any professional printer will tell you you need more than those colors; these is just the "economic" palette for HOME printers; professional printers actually have 9, 12 or more colors. 2. The lemon/teal/magenta palette tunes down the oranges and he never stops to explain that. 3. You get the most vibrant purples with ultramarine/magenta, not with teal/magenta (not even with cyan/magenta), cause teal has green in it and tunes down purples. 4. He sells you how vibrant and clean are the mixes he gets with CMY and, guess what: HE NEVER USES THEM! XD He finishes the video showing you how to get them "dirty" to fit in his painting; so why, in the first place, he is pushing you into those mixes? I bet you I can get the colors he's using in his mountains with the traditional red/yellow/blue palette.

Nothing is for free. Even McDonald give free stuff away to get something back. Giving away things for free, especially for a talented person is a crime and encouraging that is stupid and a bigger crime. No one should take advantage of others talents and work, saying thank you for taking advantage is also stupid. If you care then reward him so he can make a good living and breed more artists not shitty basketball players getting millions to put a rubber ball into a net with attitude. That is what is wrong with this word. However, he is already an artist and promoting his work. People will buy more of his work now and he just spent an hour or two making this video. So good luck to him and I am buying his video so he gains from me watching his lessons

If God is real it is possible to have life whithout hitting that boundry which atheists hit: the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything. This must mean that life is impossible without someone being outside time, space and matter, if God is outside of everything because he created everything means that God doesnt need to be born, God doesnt need air, time, dimensions to exist. The psalmist says“Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.” - Psalms 93:2 (KJV) Everlasting in the Hebrew is Owlam, so God is from Owlam, or in other words God is outside of limits, he is outside of time, God is almighty, alknowing, all powerful and spoke this creation into existence he is this powerful, the DNA is his handywork, time obeys his voice, the rocks cry out to him in silence, the trees stretch forth their branches to him, the birds sing his praise. He is in full control of everything in existence because he is the creator of ALL THINGS. When God created Man he created Man in his own image, he gave man a consiounce and knowledge of right and wrong, the Lord made Eve for Adam, he knew Adam needed a help meet for him, this also is another way God created man in his image because the word ADAM means more than Just a name, it means all humans when you look at it in the Hebrew which it was written. God made Earth for man and beast, and insects and birds, he made them and it was very good. God even let Adam and Eve be one flesh married and gave them the privelage of reproduction and filling up the earth which God had made. But remember God gave man free will, he did this in love so we can choose to obey him or not, since you may know man didobeyed God, and man was seperated from God's safety, so this is where death, and punishment came from, sin. For sin to be cleansed from man you need a living sacrifice to take Man's sins on itself and put the sin to death. Many religions make people think they can earn mercy from God, this is what cain did if you remember, he trued to give plants to God, when it is when another takes your sin is what really saves you. Basically you cannot earn God's mercy, because its not just, its not right. Noone knows when they will die, tonight when you walk home you could pass out and in an instant your geart could stop and you will be standing before a holy God who Will rightly judge sin. When you crossover to that eternal state where theyre is no going back, on the great day God judges all creation , the prophecy has been spoken. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” - Revelation 20:15 (KJV) The question is not why would God send people to such a place, the question is why wouldnt God rightly judge sin on his standards? Religion cannot save you from being cast alive, damned for eternity into everlasting darkness abd sorrows and suffering frkm the lake lf fire and brimstone. God understands the effect of sin on all creation, thats why he himself stepped down from his throne into fleshh 2000 years ago as Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the sinless sacrifice sent by the God the Father to be beaten beyond human recognition and nailed to a cross to hang and be tormented in all ways, carrying your sins, and even your punishment for sin was placed upon him and he endured your punishnent on that cross and Said "It is finished" and gave up the ghost. When he said these words, it is finished he could have also been saying that justice has been served, your punishment has been met but on him, and then remember he rose again, even the grave couldn't hold the Son of God, John 3 (KJV) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. John 3 ³⁶ He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Now I encourage you, you still have time, swallow your pride and humble yourself before God, confess you are a sinner and ask for forgiveness. God will grant you eternal life and now you are saved, turn from your old lifestyle and Iive for Christ:)

Hi Andrew, my name it Al Brown, Canada, and I,ve been an airbrush artist for over 45yrs. I,ve had this nagging sensation to begin painting with oils. Even in those years I've used hand brushing techniques for even more realism and 3D appearance. My favourite things I like doing is illusion, tricking the eye thinking it's real, it's always fun to see the look on their faces when they find out it's just painted on. My specialty is realism and 3D effects and that brings me to you. This is why I'm be following your video's, I love realism and fine detail and you are all about that. I'm watching your techniques, brush strokes and all your fine detail work, it's amazing. This a big step for me and I feel in my heart and in my mind, which keeps reminding me to make this change. Every time I see your work, the drive gets even stronger, keep up the amazing work Andrew, I'll be watching you as much as I can and looking forward to watching the in depth techniques and and your creative magic. Right now I'm taking this at a slow pace, it's a big jump from Acrylics to oils, but both have their own advantages over the other. Take care Andrew...................Al Brown, Ontario Canada

As a career printer, glad to see you bringing CMYK into the picture (pardon the pun). Process printing, which is what the use of these colors is referred to, uses a concept called GCR, or gray component replacement (addition of tonal black) to simulate many of the natural grays that you are mixing. Since there are few, if any total blacks in nature this limits the color spectrum that printing can capture, but adds very piercing depth, sometimes too much so.

Andrew I love your instructional videos! I have spent my career in emergency services and recently found painting and I am finding it incredibly cathartic and relaxing! One little safety note since folks like me are hanging on to your every word, and taking notes so we can go to the store and buy the right supplies. You talk about gloves and say you are wearing rubber gloves, but I am pretty sure you are wearing nitrile which are the right ones. “Rubber” gloves are made from natural rubber latex and are typically kind of a dull yellow. They have poor chemical resistance and are a bit porous especially w prolonged chemical exposure. Paint thinner will gradually permeate latex gloves. Vinyl and latex gloves are a better barrier than nothing, but I believe what you are wearing is nitrile glove which have high chemical resistance and low allergic reaction levels. Thanks again for describing in great detail your techniques and tactics! I love your work. Cheers

What’s on the palette: gray background for tonal and hue adjustments. Glass is easy to clean. Burnt umber for deep shadows. Yellow oxide is good for warmth and tinting skies and the transp version for glazes. Titanium white for landscapes and lead whites for portrait. Cad lemon is v strong. Cad red for landscapes. Quinacradone magenta. Ultramarine blue. Cobalt teal for greens and skies. Phthalo green is strong and good for leaves and darks. Starts with earth tones, then white, then hard chroma underneath. No black on the palette, it’s made from burnt umber and ultramarine blue. (I have to say that yes he’s an amazing painter but just because he doesn’t use black doesn’t mean you can’t. It’s a useful color for mixing a truly dark color or for pop art so the rule of no black is bs. He likes to mix his own black because he gets more control and interest in the realism) baby wipes are good for wiping away excess paint and wipe off the excess mineral oil. The true primaries are not red, yellow, blue. They’re cyan, magenta, and yellow and they make beautiful colors that the traditional primaries cannot achieve. Cobalt teal, magenta, and cad lemon is the true primary combo that he uses.

So why would you use black out of a tube then if you know you have more control of warm and cool by mixing your own black ? I don’t think he ever said you couldn’t use black out of the tube he just says it’s not as good , and I agree. Throw away your ivory black . creating your own black creates better harmony in your paintings.
@frozenocarina
@frozenocarina 3 года назад
@@allenvoss7977 MMM ok people like you make me so infuriated but basically it’s because it’s easier and the whole “warm vs cool” control is bs. You can add brown or blue or purple or whatever the hell you want to your black. I’m referring to the tons of generalizations made by lots of painters. Art is about what looks good, and throwing away expensive paint won’t do any good. Black is black and it reads to the human eye as black, add something to it and it’s just a dark blue or dark brown. Unless you wanna grab a microscope and look at every painting you see and judge it based on the materials and colors used, kindly shut up

The Tonal graduation is fascinating. Your tutorial is brilliantly presented. I also loved the biro and white gel exercise, Toned paper lends itself well to pen & ink and white gel ink pen. My Husband loves pencil sketching. I would love to see him adding water colour to his work. However he is resisting at the moment, but we both enjoy watchino you painting, The gorgeous dappled lights white mare & foal with dry brush thick mane was wonderful to be able to participate in the process. Your wife must have been amazed. We both thought it was far better than the origonal. Cheers Rosie Hoy ( Retired & loving it)

As a person who gets joy from paintings and appreciates the skill involved I am often frustrated with my own efforts because of my colour blindness. Being able to see colour but struggle naming what they are, this video is like a key opening a door. Your palette choices, your descriptions of colour saturation and tone and your demonstrations of mixing colours will enable me to look at a possible subject in a more accessible light. The 'formulas' or ratios in colours and their uses provide the structure I need to approach painting with more confidence. Thank you Andrew.
