Hey! Want to take your art to the next LEVEL? I make videos sharing vital painting techniques.
I'm Andrew and welcome to my channel! I just love to paint and I've been a professional artist for the last 14 years. I have now decided to give back and share what I have picked up in my career. I will show you techniques used by the old masters with step by step tutorials, across a wide range of subjects. We will also dive into the materials used in painting, and how to wield them with mastery! I will even feature content specifically designed to help you with your art career, with Q+A videos.
If that sounds like you, then you should SUBSCRIBE and join me on a fulfilling journey of creativity and discovery.
passed the whole video trying to calculate what is the tilt you keep your canvas and palette from the vertical based on the angle of the liquid inside the steel cups :P
With every brush stroke, you create the most dazzling landscapes. This one is so different from most of yours, due to the lack of a vast sky, and open landscape. It shows how close you can get and create an intimate setting with the viewer and the painting. I totally agree with you on not getting rid of brushes. I have them scattered about my studio in various boxes, brush stands, as well as loosely laying around. Of course for me, a new flat brush or liner is essential to making those crisp lines, but never underestimate the character of a brush that has been in the studio for years, adding texture to your painting! Yes, this painting would look good larger. You tend to do so well with the larger paintings. I have toyed with wanting to do larger canvases, but with more detail, than the huge murals I have done in the past. Always love when you upload a video that gives us a bit of information that we can take with us. Thank you so much!
You are undoubtably one of the best artists of this era. Really inspiring to see your process. Your videos have really helped me to improve my art. Thank you sir.I got inspired from you to start painting potraits. Truly one of the best teachers I have ever seen.
If you are an accomplished painter or just starting out, you owe it to yourself to at least try the 7 day free trial- Tisch Academy is overflowing with a variety of formats to learn the art of oil painting. Art School- only BETTER!! I love the weekly live streams where Andrew opens his studio for us to watch his process
This is awesome. I love the idea of dropping a tad of quinacridone to cobalt teal. I have a big tube of crementz, but it turns out I get to out of control/sloppy to use. All my paint ends up on my skin and clothes. Love your approach -- your videos get me psyched to break out the paints.
Love it! I only started painting upon retirement - did one painting in acrylics, then quit because they dry too quickly. I'm now 1/3 of my way through my first land/seascape in oils on a huge canvas and find your videos invaluable - best on RU-vid! At age 70, I have lots of catching up to do!!!
Andrew, I've been following you for a few years now. Errrr.. that sounds a bit creepy.😅...so moving on swiftly... Watching you paint is inspiring. And seeing how you have grown your business to your own membership site using RU-vid as a marketing tool is awesome!! I'll be doing your Epic Landscape course soon. I can't wait to start. Soooo much to learn, thanks for sharing your extensive knowledge in such an accessible way! 😊 all the best
Tisch Academy is way better than an ‘art school’. I have been painting and learning art for 60 years and have learned so much more since joining. It is affordable. It is a community of like minded artists, striving to better our skills and support each other.
Delighful Andrew. Lots of great insights into your painting process as always. And yes, teal is a 'go to' colour for me too. The new ranges of synthetic brushes have come on leaps and bounds and are fast becoming some of my favourite to use. Looking forward to seeing more from you soon. Best wishes - Paul 😃😃😎😎
Hi Andrew, I've always been interested in using lead white and even bought a few tubes once, but safety concerns have held me back. The risks and cleanup process seem daunting. Could you share how you clean and store your equipment when working with this pigment, and how you handle waste disposal, particularly with a toddler around?
Excellent work and you are painting like construction the mysterious place very unique skills congratulations you are really talented artist, thank you for this great video !
Andrew, your just as incredible as your Artwork, mate. Always full of detailed instructions and generosity. Love this scene too as well as being able to watch the master at work, layer by layer. Thank you for allowing me to see this before going live. You definitely Rock, mate.
I'm a noob artist, usualy like I like to draw and painting some watercolors, watching you process , it's clearly to saw how well in the great Masters is your path! Awesome man
As always, whatever you put your hand and brush to comes out perfect. You have so much depth and highlights that make your paintings so realistic. I love your work because it has heart and soul in it. You should be famous far and wide. ❤😊
Loved this video. When I first tried oils 60 years ago I was able to but Flake White #2 in a pint tin. I was happy to find Kremnitz, on your recommendation. By the way, I was profoundly impressed by your comment about being at that spot, at dawn, in winter! 🥶
