I love Sailor Moon, but I wish the lip colors were different. Those bright, white-based pinks don’t look good on most people. If I buy them (which I prob will), I won’t have any use for them. 😭 Btw I’m also superrrr excited for whatever you have planned for this year!!!
You are absolutely right: A makeup bag/case would be such a good idea for this collection! And yes: You are also right about lack of depth in the palette, in spite of the fact that the eye look you created is absolutely lovely. I really appreciate how well this collection is done. I didn’t even grow up on Sailor Moon... just think it perfectly captures the nostalgia. I’m so glad they didn’t just slap an image of her on the outer packaging and call it a day.
Boy these ColourPop palettes are getting expensive. I remember when the my little pony collab was $16 and so were the early Kathleeen Lights collabs! They are growing quickly and so are their prices. I like the look you did here. I really don’t know much about sailor moon so I will most likely not be purchasing anything but I do think the packaging is pretty.
I didn’t watch the show growing up but I think the packaging is adorable. However, if you take the packaging away and just look at the shades alone, this is not anything that we haven’t seen from CP a ton of times already in just the last 6 months even. Wish they’d be more creative with the color stories like they are with the packaging. Plus these price increases. OUCH!! Making me be super picky about what I admire vs actually purchase. I think they were testing the waters and might expand the collab if it does well to the other sailors, because this bunch is all Usgai. For me- The Palette doesn't do it, nor do the lip or cheek things, but I do want those glitters.
The colourpop blushes really are so underrated, and OMG, the formula is amazing and lasts all day on my skin. I know that is really pastel, but love the eyeshadow palette color story.
I watched Sailor Moon starting when I was 5 so it’s super nostalgic! I know it’s colourpop and they need to make the packaging cheap so it’ll be cheap for us but I really wish they did more with the packaging! I wouldn’t mind paying more for beautiful packaging. They could’ve done a palette or blushes with the transformation brooch as outer packaging. Maybe lipglosses with the moon stick as the packaging? Japanese companies have done sailor moon makeup and it’s literally the prettiest thing!
When I first saw the packaging and colors, I thought it was nostalgic! A lot of people where saying how it felt like they just slapped on popular memes for the packaging but if you were a 90s kid, you'd remember how popular that type of changing image was (can't remember the name for it). I just thought it was cool and definitely took me back. I honestly just want the eyeshadow palette and cat's eye blush lol. Also, I do think for the blush, they could have made the packaging more like her compact but I still like it!
Love Sailor Moon! The blushes are what I’m most excited for! I wish they would’ve done some Jelly Much shadows for this and that they would have done their Lux liquid chubby lips and that one was purple!

I love the blotted lips but I'm sad the bundles look the same, I wish the moonlight bundle would've been more magical, and by itself the palette is beautiful but I don't think it suits the theme personally:( and also!! Yes!! WHERE IS THE MAKEUP BAG WE ALL NEED 😭 I love your message at the end acknowledging how it can still bring just as much joy from the nostalgia and that's just as valid. You're a very calming and collected presence because your videos are so organised and your bloopers are so adorable and relatable 😂💕 much love x
Yeah I agree, I'm more enticed by the packaging than I am for the actual shade colours. I really love that cats eye blush though, I'm loving the shimmer blushes lately.
I grew up with sailor moon :) Ordered just the palette today at launch. These colors actually really remind me of the 90s as a kid and the Japanese wash of color style.
I plan on getting the eyeshadow palette, the blushes, and one of the lip bundles. The glitters are really cute ... But I can't envision myself ever using them. I'm a *huge* Sailor Moon fan; been a fan for 25 years. This collection is ridiculously adorable (especially those blushes!), and just looking at the pictures online makes me smile.
Bought this just now in 2024 a long with the 2023 Sailor Moon collection. I am somewhat new to colourpop and have the Rudolph Christmas collection and wanted some pretty makeup for spring and summer and thought that the Sailor Moon collections were very pretty and suited the seasons... however wasn't sure how I would pull off such bright colors on a regular basis. Your videos make these collections seem very wearable and my fear subsided and I made the purchase. Thank you for your in depth unboxings and reviews. I am now a subscriber.

Thanks for your review Amanda! I’m a 90’s kid and I grew up with Sailor Moon so I think this is such a cute collection. That being said, I think they could’ve done more with the lip products and I too wish they would’ve incorporated Sailor Moon’s clothing colors in the eyeshadow palette. I love the blush you used in the demo so I hope I can buy it before it sells out.

I am totally LIVING FOR IT! this was my all time favorite show growing up and I honestly still watch it occasionally as an adult 😂 the only thing I'm not interested in is the glitters. But my head keeps telling me that if I want everything else I might as well get the whole collection even if some of the pieces are just for the collector in me 😂😂 I still have my entire collection of sailor moon dolls

The colors are VERY SIMILAR to this Sailor Moon palette, but Jaclyn’s palette has SO👏🏽MUCH👏🏽MORE👏🏽 The shadows are so CREAMY and VIBRANT and it makes my heart SOOOOO HAPPY to look at all the beautiful COLORS 😍🔥💯 I just received mine today and I did a simple but GORGEOUS vibrant coral/pink LEWK and I am SOOOOOO OBSESSED 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I want to know the secret!!!!!! And i also think a makeup bag or something else cutesy would have been perfect for this theme. I won't be buying because its just not me, altho I was tempted with the eye lookyou did. Almost made me think i could do a pretty subset or something. I'm so glad that you put up a proper review video for this collection! I'm a BIG Sailor Moon fan, and already watched a couple other videos, but didn't even know there was a pressed glitter until you pointed it out! I will still end up getting most of the products, but I agree about the lip products. I'm not a huge fan of the UBL or the gloss, and I was hoping that they'd do a more colorful color story with the palette to include the other Sailor Scouts, but I do understand the cohesiveness of the colors they were going for here.
Never watched SM but the blushes are undeniably enticing and I found your review very informative. Shame about the eye safety issues on CP’s presses glitters, I’m glad you reiterated that
What’s really great about colourpop is that the shadows aren’t glued into the palettes, but just stuck in there with magnets. So if this is your perfect palette except for a few shades, and you have another cp palette that has these shades, you can just swop them out really easily.
I'm a Sailor Moon fan. I grew with this anime. I love the packaging. The shades.... Mmm. I needed a blue, a red. Just like her clothes. It is true that she is a magical girl but needed more colors. It makes me think about a Mini It's all good palette.. Hope this collection has a part 2 with the other sailors and so much range of colors. Btw love your look!! Thanks for your vid. 😘
It wasn't originally anything I was excited for, I've never seen Sailor Moon in my life. But I love pastels, especially coral and peach pastels, and I think this would really sing over a pure white base. I actually want that purple body glitter, now that I saw another YTer apply it as freckles on her cheeks. I would absolutely try it in my hair, too. I had a cat named Luna, so the blush is calling to me as well. Hope it all restocks, so I can pick it up on sale this summer after it's no longer the hot thing.
On another note from Color Pop, if you're looking for a cruelty free option for an item to prep your eyes, Anastasia Beverly Hills has a eyeshadow primer kind of reminiscent of M.A.C. Paint pots.

I would’ve loved a red, royal blue jelly shadows. More of their glitter liquid liners and loose highlighters! Love your videos as always. I’m totes buying it all tho.
As a Sailor Moon fan, I really wish I loved this collection. I’m not a fan of the glitter matte or pressed glitter formulas and the lip gloss brushes made me die inside a little bit. I really hope they make more collections for the rest of the sailors, because this is no go for me.
I agree. The colors are not what I was expecting and there is way too much glitter and hot pink going on for my liking. I’m disappointed with this collection. I really hope they do come out with more for the other scouts. I would loooove a Mars collection!

XD Yeah, it's cute but I absolutely don't need it, and as adorbs as the packaging is it could have indeed been way more over the top (I'm remembering the Sailor Moon toys I had as a kid, the light-up moon wand and the locket, all shiny plastic gold chrome goodness). And the word you're trying to think of is "lenticular." ;)
I think this palette looks like a fun spring palette with it's story way. And that blush you used in the video looks gorgeous. How do you know not everyone watches until the end?

i've never seen sailor moon but i def want the shimmery blush and the glitter gels. i like the palette a lot, but now i'm not sure if i'll get it since you kinda rained on my parade by covering up the bottom row 😂 it's ok though, i really appreciate it. without this bottom row, the palette reminds me of the zoeva melody palette, which is on my wishlist too so i'm not sure if i'd want two such similar palettes.
i wouldn't necessarily use the eyeshadow palette everyday. i'm too shy and introverted to be using super fun colors lol. the packaging is pretty cute though! 3D holographic seems bad ass. i hope that if they do release a sailor moon part 2, they should do the inner scouts as mini eyeshadow palettes (3 shades per palette) and the packaging would be the shape of their transformation wands! maybe do highlighters with sailor moon's brooch as the packaging? idk. anyways i'm excited!

the ultra blotted lips are my favourite formula, but I do agree that the shades in those lip bundles should've been more colourful or more magical-looking especially for the ultra glossy lips 😅 like a shimmery purplish gloss would probably be more exciting ✨ nonetheless it's likely I'm still going to get them because I just love the blotted lips!! 💋

Colourpop should've release a supershock shadow 5 set: one for the inner sailor scouts and another for the outer sailor scouts or a future collection featuring the story arcs like the Black Moon arc for example. Or even a mini pallette based on Sailor Moon Sailor Stars: one for the 3 Lights or Galaxia.

I love the blush, and the lip looks really good on you! In Japan, they did Sailor Moon makeup with Creer, that was just over-the-top awesome. Fantastic packaging, anyways, while this packaging looks intended for a 12-year old. Too cutesy IMHO, they could have really done something awesome/a bit more adult. If they began to do palettes for all the Sailor Scouts, that would be amazing!!!

Hi! Love the video :) I was just wondering, when you show the lipsticks swatched on your lips, did you by any chance confuse the two shades names? Because when you show the usagi swatch it looks like bun head to me from the packaging and because it’s a cooler toned pink, whereas when you showed bun head I thought it was usagi? Because usagi seems to be more warm toned and coral, judging from how you showed them at the start of the video and from other videos I’ve seen online of them? Might be wrong so I just wanted to ask!! Thank you 😊
I'm a big fan of Sailor Moon but none of these are colors I'd wear 😢 maybe the peachy blush like you said. It'd be interesting to see a collection for the Sailor Moon villains! That might have the depth that you're missing from this palette. Btw that purple shimmer shade looks soo pretty when you turn your head and it catches the light!
I order the Collection when they did the restock. I was really worried because the pallets a little outside of my comfort zone but I just got it today and I’m already creating looks and loving it so much. One thing that I am sad about is my cat’s eye blush the stamp of Luna inside is crooked. ☹️
