Hawaii doesn't suck. There were a few bad calls against Hawaii. Their offensive line just didn't block for Colt this game, and Georgia is a very good team. Hawaii played their best!

Height wise Brennan is like 6'3 or 6'2, you never really know cause you get conflicting reports on that but its still the same size as Jason Cambell. I just want to see what he can do with a pro line blocking for him. Trust me the Redskins wouldn't of picked him up if they didn't feel like he could be a servicable quarterback. Not saying he will be a Hall of Famer but could be a reliable Chris Redman type back up that can win games for you.
@cruman87
@cruman87 16 лет назад
Haha,your not even paying attention to what I said. I never mentioned anything about the O-Line in the Senior Bowl. I mentioned the SUGAR BOWL. Besides I could care less what people do in an all-star game. Second you mentioned play-action, he knows how to do play-action. He grew up in the WCO from PW to Colorado. By the way if you don't know WCO is West Coast Offense and PW means Pop Warner. All I know is Brennan plays hurt and doesn't complain about it, he's a leader.

i hope brennan has a good career in the pros. Im a fan of colt but ryan and brohm are more ready for the pros. but if colt can get on the right team he could be very good
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
Honestly, I'm a Georgia fan but I hoped for what he got, a butt kicking by a good team. The reason? The week before the game, he said in an interview that the only thing that could stop him and the UH offense was the UH offense. I just thought "You arrogant jerk! Wait until you play a good team." He obviously got humbled. Being objective, I've always thought he was way overrated. His size, lack of toughness, sidearm delivery and other issues will prevent him from succeeding in the NFL.
@cruman87
@cruman87 16 лет назад
I didn't see any other QB complete 100% at the combine under the same circumstances you mentioned. Next up, folding like a lawn chair? If you actually watched his games you would know Brennan has brought Hawaii back to win 4 games while being down in the 4th quarter to keep a perfect season alive. Just ask Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso about how mentally tough Colt is.

@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
P. S. Keep writing if you want. After this, I'm done. If you think Brennan is a leader or is tough (that's a freakin' joke), and has heart, then have at it. He is/has none of the above and you'll find out soon enough when he gets cut this summer once he actually has to start reading defenses, reacting to pressure, using play-action, and not having four receivers out on every play. As for Corso and Herbstreit, their game pick success speaks for itself.

@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
Actually, you're pretty much right. Colt threw a ton of passes against terrible teams. The average record for WAC teams in 2007 was 4-8. UH fans want to blame the O-line but Colt showed NO composure, no durability, and made bad decisions. He threw some awful passes even when he had time so his O-line wasn't totally to blame. He also did nothing to impress anyone at the Senior Bowl. Scouts also have been highly critical of the fact that he hasn't taken snaps under center since high-school.
@ekahiway

Limping around? I never saw Brohm, Ryan OR Ainge in NY for the Heisman and if you think completing 58 TD's in a season is a joke then the joke is on you. If Ainge is so MUCH MORE PREPARED for the NFL, lets see if he can top Brennan's debut. Enough talk, show me! As for guarantees, are you saying Ainge is a lock on the Jets roster? He's listed at #4, Brennan is listed as #3 on the Skins depth chart. The real joke is on the scouts that had their heads in the same black whole as yours.

For those who thought Kiper is an idiot (and he is at times), he pretty much hit the nail on the head. Brennan just about made it to lucky number (round) 7. Let's see, he'll be competing with Jason Campbell 6'5"230#, Todd Collins 6'4" 228#, and Sam Hollenbach 6'5" 218#, all much bigger and with stronger arms and MUCH better mechanics. As I said months ago, Brennan will be in the CFL or Arena League come September. Sorry, UH fans, Brennan just isn't that good.
@cruman87
@cruman87 16 лет назад
What you're saying hasn't hurt Tony Romo, who also has a side arm release and is either shorter or about the same height as Brennan. LOC has nothing to do with this. If you just watched the Sugar Bowl then you have'nt done your homework. In the SB it was mostly the OL that was the downfall of Hawaii's O. No QB could have done anything with the performence the OL gave. If you look at Brennan's performence against BCS teams, you will see that they're comparable to his games aginst non-BCS teams.

Your guess ain't worth squat. The Skins have 4 QBs in Camp. Colt took plenty of hits in the Sugar Bowl and kept coming back, he was 10 lbs. lighter then, you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

You're probably right. I mean UH wins the national championship every year in, umm, hmmm. Baseball? No. Golf? No. Wrestling? No. Football? ROFL!!! Basketball? LOL!!! Gymnastics? No. Track & Field? LOL!!! and the list could go on and on. There's a reason Hawaii isn't even a factor in college athletics. As for those MMA guys like Penn, most of them would get knocked cold by just a decent boxer.
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
First, you're bringing up guys who were either drafted years ago, were/are mediocre (Garcia and Theisman) or have/had significantly better mechanics. Brennan is a sidearm slinger which makes his height much more of a factor than if he were 6'5". Basically, the ball comes out like a
@kylemas2005
@kylemas2005 16 лет назад
Never make it in the NFL? Dude c'mon. How about just giving him a chance behind a real offensive line. The guy has major talent, but got destroyed because his o-line couldn't handle the beasts of an SEC d-line. Just saying he has a shot and if not, then he will always be the holder of many NCAA records.
@nerrad127
@nerrad127 16 лет назад
are you kidding me. brohm and ryan blow him away
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
Then I guess guys like Mel Kiper, Cris Carter, Ron Jaworski, and a host of others who have evaluated talent and/or played in the NFL for years are all wrong and you're right. Why is it that Erik Ainge of Tennessee played so much better behind the same offensive line as Colt at the Senior Bowl? I'm done talking about this. Think what you want but remember what I said when he gets his walking papers.
@cruman87
@cruman87 16 лет назад
And since when did being 6'3 to 6'6 mean your good. If that was the case then Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb, Steve Young, Joe Theismann and oh yeah Joe Montana wouldn't be good. Plus I must be missing more guys here and there. Those guys are like 6'0 to 6'3. With the exception of Favre and McNabb those guys never had strong arms. With that said, being tall and having a strong arm doesn't mean you're going to be a good QB.
@cruman87
@cruman87 16 лет назад
Vince Young has no receivers to throw to and it was only his second year in the league, so what do you do you expect from him? Brady? Manning? Your overanalyzing things buddy. P.S. Sounds like your the one getting a bit flustered.
@ekahiway
@ekahiway 15 лет назад
jocprick "Erik Ainge put up numbers as good or better than Ryan and Brohm while playing in the toughest conference in the country, the one with back to back national champions. Ainge is FAR better prepared for the NFL then Brennan" Yup, FAR better... dude just got his ass suspended by the league for steroids.
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
And Erik Ainge had stats as good or better than either of those two while playing in the toughest conference in the country.
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
It was a joke for Brennan to even be mentioned for the Heisman. 58 TD's against whom? The WAC teams averaged 4-8 in 2007. Brennan is third out of three QB's while Ainge is fourth of four, same difference and my guess is that the Jets will release Pennington. I've seen lots of QB's have good pre-season games against the other teams' 3rd stringers, many of whom won't make the final roster either. Brennan still can't read defenses, his footwork still stinks, and he can't take a hit.

@cruman87
@cruman87 16 лет назад
Whoa calm down man. If Corso and Herbie are idiots than why does everyone listen to them and watch their shows all the time. I admit they are annoying but they know their football. And secondly once again your basing your opinion of Brennan on what sounds like two games. I've watched his entire career at Hawaii and I've seen what I see in GREAT OBs. Courage, Leadership, Accuracy, Toughness and Heart.
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
Yeah, Timmy Chang set all the crap too. It's a lot easier when you play a wuss schedule most of the time and never, ever run the ball. Are you honestly going to try to compare UH's competition to what SEC QB's face week in week out? Three national titles in the last five seasons should answer that question. Yes, should not have been mentioned in the Heisman. I didn't stutter. A lot of TD's against really bad teams is a disqualifying "achievement."
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
While they may be the same height, Romo has a higher release than Brennan. Further, all this blame on the O-lines is getting old. Erik Ainge far outplayed Brennan in the Senior Bowl with the same O-line. Also, Brennan can't take a hit and he's about to line up against guys faster and bigger than those he faced in the Sugar Bowl. His footwork is terrible, he locks in on his primary receiver, and has no clue about competent play-action. Basically, as I said, his fundamentals stink. We'll see.
@ekahiway
@ekahiway 16 лет назад
and you think good athletes coming out of Hawaii is a joke too huh? Well Clay is going for the Gold in Beijing, there are 4 women on the US volleyball team with Hawaii ties, Kai is on the US womens soccer team, PMac just won his first PGA Tourney, Kreutz (a 6 time Pro Bowler) could beat the crap out of your boy Opie in Indianapolis and BJ Penn could beat the crap out of you with both legs tied together.
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
Yeah and Brennan was limping around after only two drives proving yet again he lacks the durability to play in the NFL. The season hasn't started yet and Brennan is guaranteed nothing. Erik Ainge put up numbers as good or better than Ryan and Brohm while playing in the toughest conference in the country, the one with back to back national champions. Ainge is FAR better prepared for the NFL. Pure passer? That's a joke.
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
First, you reek of immaturity. I was paying attention. I simply ADDED that no UH fan wants to see Brennan for what he is: marginal. I've seen him play in more than a couple of games and wasn't impressed since he rarely had pressure on him. As for the throwing score, Vince Young had a perfect score too and how has that worked? 9 TD's and 17 INT's last year with the majority of his passes being screens. As I said, anyone can throw accurately with no rush and no coverage.
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
Geez. This is getting old. Do you have ADD? I've been watching football at least 15 years longer than you've been alive. As for Young, he had guys to throw to. That "no receivers" excuse is a load of crap. Young had one good year in college and scouts were stupid enough to believe the hype. I saw Brennan play in at least a half-dozen games and always said to myself that he'd never make it in the NFL as he was putting up numbers while staring down receivers and playing nobody teams.
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
Let's see. Bama finished 6-6 and was so bad that Shula got fired. Purdue finished 8-6 with a #60 strength of schedule. ASU was 7-5 and lost to a terrible UCLA team. ASU also had to win in OT against a terrible Washington team. The same BSU team got drilled by UGA the in 2005. OSU, 8-4, lost to both UCLA and WSU, 7-6, 6-6, respectively. These were average to bad teams for their conferences so are you sure you want to hold up these games as examples when UH won 3 of the 5 games?
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
The guy has marginal talent. He was in a pass-only offense in the weakest conference in the country. He stares down his receivers, throws sidearm making his lack of height more pronounced, and has shown a lack of toughness and durability. The other three QB's on the Redskins are much bigger, stronger, have stronger arms, and have shown they can take a hit at that level. Also, the real test of a QB is how he performs under pressure on which Brennan failed miserably in his last two games.
@jocwalk
@jocwalk 16 лет назад
He has a marginal arm. It's easy to be accurate at the Combine when the receivers aren't covered and there's no rush. Lots of high-school QB's could do that. Brennan has too much size, toughness, and talent in front of him in Washington to even get to the #2 spot. He folds like a lawn chair when the pressure is on. He will get eaten alive by NFL defenses by both the secondary and defensive line. For him, NFL stands for "Not For Long." He is unprepared for that level but could do okay in the CFL.
