HONOLULU (KHON2) -- While many people knew his persona on the field, those who shared the field with him were able to see another side of Colt Brennan.
I fully support Colt Brennan's number being retired, What He did for Hawaii Football was very special....My prayers are up for Colt's family & friends at this difficult time....
I met Colt when I tried out for Saddleback College the same year he got there. Being the oldest dude trying out for the team, I was humbled to see him still training (first spring practice) with the team with a broken arm (or wrist, I can't remember). Most kids would have sat out, and rested based on their laurels, but I could tell Colt just wanted to earn everyones respect being that he was coming to the program (I learned later on) with some baggage...(Fast forward a couple years later) My roommate text to tell me Colt was chillin at the same bar he was at in San Clemente (during offseason). I told him that I would be down to the bar asap for body guarding detail because I said, (and forever will be) "...it's a 808 thing...that's my quarterback!" Not their fault but I wish the University reached out to him sooner! RIP #15!
This guy the only guy to bring Hawaii name. He gave Hawaii the best of the best I his years. Will never forget this kid. He gave revenue to Hawaii in his time. God bless Colt Brennan you are home now. Rest in peace. Love your memories....
Even if U.H/AD does NOT retire #15, no other will body will represent Hawaii Athletics/football quite like Colt. Condolences go out to his immediate family, friends, UH football program & ALL that were fortunate enough to meet/knowhim....R.I.P, Colt!
@@juanshaftpatel7488...Not necessarily. He was better person b4 accident. THAT'S what people will remember him for, NOT the person he became! Actually met him 2x btwn 2007-19, b4 & after the accident
Goodbye old friend of Da Aina. Colt Brennan we will miss you and not forget you. To his loving parents, family, friends, teammates, my personal and sincere condolences.
B4 CB, Hawaii, in general, was more known for OL/D players. After Brennan, Hawaii became known for QB/O players...Look at Tua, Marcus, Ta'amu, McKenzie/Dillon, Timmy Chang, Davone Bess, etc. Colt made mainland schools Stand-Up & Take Notice! Mahalo, Colt...
They gotta retire his number, even without his passing that should’ve been done. They should consider naming the field at the new stadium after him. RIP Colt, you will be missed.
My condolences to Brennan's family, friends,, and loved ones. May he find peace and comfort, and rest easy. Hawai'i lost a real one and for what he did for not only our football program but the entire state of Hawai'i, his legacy will live on in the Islands. Please do the right thing and retire his jersey.
