Colt Brennan will be remembered most for his days in a Hawaii uniform, back when he took the school to new heights and inspired the state's next generation of football players.
Feel sorry for him. After his accident, he was never the same. Doing drugs, being alcoholic and stuff like that. I still remember being there at the Boise state game when I was a kid. Literally felt like Aloha Stadium was gonna fall down since it was shaking so much. Rip
His signature game was the 2007 game against Washington. It was a late night game on ESPN2 and everyone who followed college football knew it was a win and get in scenario in the BCS for Hawaii. Even though Washington had an atrocious record, they were still a Pac-10 team with far greater talent than Hawaii (even at QB, Jake Locker, then a freshman IIRC, was a consensus 4 star (even 5 according to some) HS recruit and went on to be a Top 10 NFL Draft pick) and they went up 28-0 on Hawaii early in the game and Brennan orchestrated one of the most heroic comebacks in college football history given the stakes and worked his three-headed trio of Rivers, Bess, and Grice-Mullen to get Hawaii the victory. It was probably the apogee of his life and anything that happened against Georgia (who were probably the best team in the sport in 2007) and in the NFL with his failures and the subsequent pain killer and alcohol addictions was irrelevant compared to that night he beat Washington.
@@RobbieStacks90 Yup for sure. I don’t think I went to that game, but I remember being huge game for Hawaii since it they were playing a powerhouse conference at the time.
I'm shocked. I'm very sorry for him. The Car accident broke him. I wish I could avoid this accident. i wish i could help him. that is tragic and very sad. Colt Brennan rest in peace. God bless you. Germany
5:54 The person sitting above the North sign. I was in the 8th grade and that was me. I seen every single 2007 home game by myself and even flew up to New Orleans with my grandma to watch the sugar bowl against Georgia. Friends would always say i was crazy for going on my own but today I bet of they could go back in time to watch by themselves, they would because 2007 was the greatest football team of all time to come outta Hawaii, and I knew that from when I was 13. Rest in peace Goat.
Being able to say I was at every home game that undefeated season now means so much more. This man really allowed my love for sports to flourish. Thank you CB15!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My job tried to fire me for calling in sick and going to the UH/BSU game that year. Best game in UH history. No regrets. Some of the best memories of my life. Mahalo Colt!
Man, all these comments just breaks my heart. With all his struggles, I hope Colt knew how many people he inspired in Hawaii. He was a good guy. We all have tough times. I hope I'm there for people I love when they are having tough times. Friends, family, Co workers. Even the random person on the street. We should all try to be like that. The world would be a better place and maybe we could help someone out that is struggling with whatever they may be struggling with at that time. Much love to Colt and his family and to all his fans and people who cared for him.
This one still hurts so bad. Miss you so much Colt Brennan. Mahalo for all the memories, the excitement, hope and for showing the world what the Aloha spirit meant. R.I.L Warrior. Forever in our hearts... 💔😭💔😭🏈🙏
I remember watching Hawaii football as a kid and falling in love with them due to coke Brennan. Great childhood memories, those teams were so fun to watch.
Omg. I just found out (been going through finals week). I'm crying like a baby. Yeah, we did hanai (take him as our own blood) Colt but not because he won for us but because he fought for us and gifted us everything unconditionally. We are his family, too. Hawaii is his home, too. We'll pray for his family and the unbelievable amount of grief they're enduring for the loss of their brother and their baby boy. Colt, your job is done. Go in peace, little brother; go without regrets and with our gratitude and love.
I was like 9 years old from New Zealand 🇳🇿 when we went as a family to Hawaii for vacation, and the Bus took us past the Rainbow Warriors in full pads, doing Star Jumps and Burpees in 30 degrees Celsius heat! COLT! What a name for a gunslinger! My Mother drowned at Poipu, but still I feel the love and the energy from Hawaii, Mahalo! Manao' he Aloha oie! Kia Toa, Kia Kaha!
Just utter sadness about this, he was the nicest guy when you met him in person. He brought so much joy and happiness to the people of Hawai'i and those of us living outside of the 808. I'm totally bummed.
He coached my friend at Elite11. My friend told me that he was glad to have him as a counselor. When I told him what happened to Colt, he didn't believe it. He has memories that will live on through him. From Matt Barkley to Mariota, his teaching for quarterbacks will live on. Please pray for his family for better days. Nobody should go through this. RIP to the goat.

I wish I had the chance to play with him. I graduated in 2003. Perhaps we shall meet in Valhalla. It gladdens me to know Odin makes ready the benches for a feast. May you drink from curved horns, Colt.
@jessica zane nice try trying to smear a dead persons name with what you thought was a rhetorical question. obviously you dont know the facts and failed. good luck being a jealous beotch Jessica.
