I've got a M45A1 marine version. And as much as that thing cost me, my Springfield TRP is just as good as a gun if not better in some areas. The colt doesn't have front strap checkering , trp does. No magwell on colt. Trp has one , better trigger on trp. But all in all, the colt I do love. Just could be better.
The M45A1 Marine Pistol is sold to us normal people as what was spec'd by the Marine Corps. I don't know why they decided against FSC and magwell but they did.
Will colt ever make these again, ive been looking for a ccu government in 45acp or any of the other versions for 2 years now and havnt found a fucking one,
??? So get one. Colt M45A1 Marine Pistol. They were used by Marine Recon, which does not fall under SOCOM so aren't designated as "special forces", though they attend the same schools (SERE, MWTC, etc.)
I hope you make these more reliable then my new Colt WW1 repo black Army. I had to send it back to Colt because it stove piped almost every magazine. I spend $1,000 on a COLT 1911 so I wouldn’t have these kind of problems smh. Wonder how long Colt will have my new 1911 before they work the bugs out and send it back to me?

Then after that the "edit" By the time I'm done, geesh... that's $4000... and I gotta save for that tooo.... time = money. I just, Hope it's still in stock when I have the money for it.

That's what I meant by hard decisions. Maybe I'll just buy this instead of the Bond Arms Backup since it's more hard to get when out of stock. Geesh. But I wouldn't carry this gun... it's for novelty purposes. I want this with a Threaded barrel. And railed... if there was an option for a red dot... I'd be forced to buy it... because it would be perfect. Sigh, time to start saving even harder... *crying*
@@graynotescartridgebox yea, the Bond Arms Backup is simply more concealable when at work and in uniform. Slacks... and exposed belt line... 2 shots of .410 is enough for what I need in that environment. This one would be for novelty purposes. I wanted a Full Steel 45acp gun with a rail. A red dot would also be great and I wanted my freaking colt pony logo. But it's too big and heavy to carry everyday. I got my Colt Defender Combat Elite in 9mm and its perfect (i wish it came fully in Black, lol). But I carry that on my off days. Its heavy but it's the gun I wanted. I'm a lefty so the ambi safety is a must. So I will go with the Bond Arms Backup first... then this... then the Surefire for this.
@@graynotescartridgebox also, I got the Defender Combat Elite in 9mm because I wanted a gun that could last awhile; with Walmart banning the sale of ammo. 9mm being the NATO Standard I got the 9mm. But with CCU RAIL model i want a real 1911 in 45acp. And with the rail it's the ultimate 1911. A red dot would make it even better but I'm good with it until Colt release something else later that's more Progressive.
Congrats on knowing enough to have finally replaced the "3 white dot" sight arrangement in favor of a blacked out (preferably serrated) rear sight by 2020. Tritium vials on either side of the rear sight is popular as well for aid in night/low-light aiming. Too bad you're still not quite caught up with current popular design features enough to know that a rear sight capable of being used for one-handed manipulation (i.e. with a "ledge"/flat front face) as well as an adjustable (or) U-notch rear sight (all 3 features being the best possibility) has rendered the slanted Novak-style rear sight obsolete. That, or you do know and are too cheap and/or lazy to make such a simple update to a pistol that came out at least 3 years ago and behind in current popular features and design.
I don’t have words for how disappointed Colt has made me. Your guns are fabulous but you are unable to produce enough so it’s actually easier for me to buy Wilson Combat and Nighthawk. I will concede that it’s getting better but the buyout by CZ is even more depressing, the MOST ICONIC and historical brand is now owned by a European country - that’s just wrong.
