The 10 mm was assessed because the terminal ballistics of the 9 (.38 special +P same thing) didn't do the job in the fight in '86, the requirements were for 12 inches of penetration (minimum) and the bullet must expand, the round fired was a 180 grain hollow point with an average velocity of 980 fps (similar to Jeff coopers idea of a 200 grain projectile traveling 1000 fps). the full power load wasn't tested by the FBI so why have the extra case space, hens the .40 s&w.
It's funny how everyone in their grandma goes through the story of the 10mm and the FBI and the birth of the .40 S&W. Every video, every gun store, as if you didn't hear it before. At least this guy didn't take forever to tell it. Good he mentioned the difference between the old & the New CDE. No one wants to shoot it thinking it's good and it's an older one and the frame cracks.
Funny that people keep telling the "Delta Elite frames crack" story, as if we didn't know the cracked frames were on pre-production guns, and every production DE has the fix . . . what, you didn't know?
ive got a question, im from california, and i went to my local gun shop, turners, and asked if they carried this item, and they said that by law this 10mm is not sold in california, im not sure how much this is true. i was wondering if you knew anything about this
