I have had a lot of other reactors and patrons recommending Colter Wall, and they you all spoke during Chris Stapleton. So here we go! Influenced by Bob Dylan and bringing in some Delta blues style, this song was so raw and genuine, I became instantly hooked!
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Colter Wallfor the first time, performing "The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie".

The song is about Blues Legend Robert Johnson. He started trying to perform in the 1930s but he was not good at all so he kept getting run out of those places. He disappeared for 3yrs and when he started again everyone was amazed at his ability to play so well. Stories were started about how he got so good in only 3yrs. Most popular legend was that he sold his soul to the Devil at the intersection of Highway's 61 & 46 in Mississippi. Robert Johnson Died at 27 yrs old. Still a legend today,

I love Colter Wall as a musician, but even MORE as a performer. If you listen to the album version of this song, you will notice several differences in both the tempo of the song, the inflection of his singing, and even the riffs in his guitar playing, because just like real Delta Blues the ENVIRONMENT is an instrument in the performance as well. So every single performance of this song is different because a lot of it is improvisation on a theme, and Colter Wall is such a good musician that he can not only play these three parts by himself but IMPROVISE all three at once. And he's such a good performer that even the "mistakes" he makes (accidently muting strings, losing the tempo, cutting off words and missing notes) sound like an intentional part of the song because he just rolls right through them to the next part. Just a phenomenal performance all around, so much charisma.

@@charleycox3944 Nahh, you're good. You raise cattle, and you can rope cattle. Just don't eat 'em. I'm not a vegan, or even if a vegetarian, I'm not even sure what's the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian. But I got to admit, I really don't have the taste for meat like I did when I was younger. I think it has more so to do with fast food joints, and pretty much advertisements for any and all restaurants today in America. Americans tend to overeat, and eating in general is a gluttonous affair here. The portions are huge everything seems to be dipped in butter and fried. Which, yeah when you're young you can handle crap like that. But just to see it all day everywhere you go and billboards and commercials and kind of makes you sick after a while.
@charleycox3944
@charleycox3944 3 года назад
@@slugcult1973 that's not the usual response i get when i mention being vegan. Thanks for not instantly turning to abuse aha. You sound like you have a great head on your shoulders. The difference between veganism and vegetarianism is this. Vegetarians don't eat meat, but are happy to indulge in other by products of animals i.e cheese, eggs, leather etc Whereas veganism isn't just a diet of no animal products, it's also a stance against animal cruelty and an effort to avoid animal suffering and death as much as is humanly possible. I hope this helps and one day you're able to take a positive step, my man :)

@@charleycox3944 well, I live in Manhattan New York City, and it's just so common around here. They have vegan restaurants and supermarkets everywhere. My last three girlfriends were all vegan. And I have a few vegan friends, and it's the norm here. Then again in New York City, we have everything. Just when you think you've seen the strangest thing, you'll see something that tops it all. I was born and raised here, and I still see wacky shit. Just this morning, I ran into a couple of hare krishna's skateboarding up in Union Square Park. And you got to be pretty pathetic if someone being vegan causes you to want to poke fun at the guy. Seems like a strange thing to be upset about. I don't get people.

New York City is a wild place, but i love it so much. As you so well explained it's a melting pot of diversity and culture and it will always have a happy place in my heart and soul. The amount of vegan food there just blew me away. It's such an easy place to choose kindness when you sit down for a meal. I love it. Damn now I'm nostalgic as hell haha

If I can suggest a song, for a reaction maybe Kaleo - I Can't Go on Without You (live on 89.3 The Current), or the Cher cover Bang Bang is a "Banger".
