Thanks Adam! Time and patience are a must when it comes to restorations. In fact, I bring up the same thing it part 3 ... Slow down and take your time or you'll end up breaking something. When I first started restoring I would knock out a machine (drill press, tablesaw, lathe, etc.) in less than a week. I then learned to slow down and think things through before diving right in. I ran into the same problem with a Morgan Vise. I don't think the threads on mine were damaged but deliberately peened. I chose to split the nuts off to maintain the length of the rods.
