This was fabulous. Id never seen any of these videos before. I could have been in those 70s videos, it was like playing my memories! The seal performances and the elephant, boating on that lovely little lake, making sandcastles, eating i ecream , watching grandpa bowl! How marvelous it was :)
All destroyed now sadly, all or nearly all of it, The Pier, Cinema, Large Houses, Eirias Park, has nearly all gone, The Colwyn Bay hotel, and nearly all of the hotels have been demolished for flats, it is a shadow of its former self
I'm doing a project about the Llandudno and Colwyn Bay Electric Tramway does anyone know of anybody who took a ride on them or has stories they could share with me. Thanks
As a child, I moved with my family to Colwyn Bay in March 1956 and I remember my Dad taking me and my younger brother for a ride on the open top deck of a tram going from Colwyn Bay to Llandudno on the very last day that they ran. It must have been within days of moving there, as the tramway closed in March 1956.
