Drago Dzieran was born in Poland while under Communist rule. After spending time in a Communist prison as a political prisoner for his activism, he immigrated to the United States in 1984. Drago became a US citizen in 1991. After the first Gulf War broke out, he enlisted in US Navy. He believed that it was his moral obligation to support in the best possible way his new country that adopted him and gave him freedom.
During his Navy career, he was assigned to SEAL Team 2, SEAL Team 4, and a BUD/S instructor at Naval Special Warfare Center (NSWC) in Coronado, California. Drago performed over one hundred combat direct action missions as an NSW Lead Breacher while deployed to Iraq in 2003, 2004, and 2005, where he developed new breaching methods and a specialized breaching charge that minimized fragmentation and reduced potential injuries to non-combatants on target.
Dzieran was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with “V” Device for Valor, the Navy Commendation Medal with “V” Device for Valor, and the Army Commendation Medal, along with other awards and decorations.

Amazing American right here,in fact,better than the ones born here.Love this guy.I cried happy tears, proud tears,and sad,even angry tears through out this video. This is one of the most impactful podcasts from a vet that I have ever watcpeople that know me know I wanted to be in the military. It was my dream to fly military jets for the navy. My whole life since a kid wrong crowd got a felony at 17 years old. And the State of Vermont ruined my life states custody. That's all I mean to say anyway, this was amazing. This guy was absolutely amazing and I really really like this guy

They don't give age waivers for enlisted guys for BUD/S much. In the nineties, before 911, the regular, non JSOC SEAL TEAMs were needing people and were chronically undermanned. NSW began a big expansion in the mid eighties through the early to mid nineties. Despite that, getting into BUD/S at thirty two is not easy.

I personally know this man. He was hard but fair, one of the greatest examples of a warrior. The stories about this man are legendary! He was rumored to have successfully used his fist to eliminate a threat. Pure Awesome! Thanks for the interview D!

Drago is a true American! I had the privilege of having him as my dive motivator when I enlisted in the navy to try and become a seal, having his mentorship and guidance was an amazing experience. Getting to learn from him and hearing his stories truly were inspiring and its awesome to see him share with the world now. Even though I ended up dropping out of Buds, I've taking his lessons he taught me and applied it to my life and am forever grateful to have had time with and learn from him, from training at the pool to getting lunch afterwards and picking his brain about the seal teams he did his best to prepare us for what awaited us in Buds. Drago is the real deal and a true American and deserves all the recognition for the things he has accomplished! Thank you for being an amazing mentor!

That attitude is infectious and wonderful. We thank you. I have a friend who came here as a Cuban political refugee in the early 90's and he has that same overwhelming gratitude to be an American. Every conflict our country has been is, he ran to volunteer, even in 2001 when he was 50+ years old, he went to the recruiter, "let me fight! I owe you my life. I want to fight for America!." How less would we be without people like this coming here.

So if I understand it correctly, he was 4 years over the age limit but the officers were so impressed by him that they vouched for him and signed a waver. Unlike today, completing the training wasn't enough in his day to become a Seal. You actually had to be picked by members of the Seal Teams. Perhaps most importantly, he seems like such a kind and gentle soul... Until the bullets start flying 20:09 at that moment, this man does not fool around.

After 16 years living in Krakow and Warsaw, I have returned to my country to be a grandpa and continue my life, but Poland is now alive in me for ever. Watching Pan Drago speak so movingly about his love of freedom and his willingness to go a fight for what we have is something every American should be invited to watch. I had a Russian couple live with me for two years. 96/97. In just two years they both learned to speak English. Obtained work in their chosen professions. Paid cash for a car and saved up enough money for a down payment for their very own home. I miss them dearly.

What an awesome super hero! My dad came here from El Salvador and, although he couldn't join the military, he still has that same excitement to be a part of a greater good. Drago is what our red, white, and blue is all about! 🤩

This man is a Saint! I never smiled and had tears in my eyes before, he reminds me of my Father, i was lucky to be born in Beautiful Australia and my parents are Lebanese, They quickly loved Australia and made it our home, but now unfortunately Australia and America are now being taken over by the same person that this American Hero escaped, God bless you Sir thank you for everything

A humble warrior and true American. A perfect role model for today’s young Americans, who take our freedom for granted. His demeanor when he speaks about protecting America speaks volumes when you look at the way his body language and voice change. Definitely not a man you’d want to mess with for sure. As Evan Hafer said on Black Rifle Coffie Podcast, this dude is not only a legend among SEALs but also within CIA circles. This man's story should be mandatory curriculum in every single school in America. Mr. Dzieran thank you for your service and your patriotism for our country.

Such a stunning contribution by a terrific person - & immigrant. My Danish & Italian immigrant grandparents were equally proud of their American citizenship. They learned the language & worked very hard & were 100% grateful; never spent a day feeling "entitled" because they knew a level of hardship that few in the U.S. experience. My parents grew up listening to patriotic parents. Same with me. I'm SO grateful for this man & his incredible life/service.

Awesome to see and hear his story and the love of America that he has, unlike many today of the younger generation, proud to call him a brother (Army Vet) and a fellow American, I was stationed in West Germany during the Cold War so it’s especially great for me to see this and know what it meant for him to be able to become an American citizen and then his commitment to serve his new home country, I loved hearing talk about terrorizing the terrorists, and his accelerated English classes that he taught 😅, Drago my brother thank you for all you did and know that you are an inspiration for some Americans at least to do better and be better 👍🏻
