@@2TrillSenna There are many ways to serve. But i've met people overseas who are more American than those who were fortunate enough to be born here. There is a reason why the whole world flocks to the United States.
@@2TrillSenna Of course not. America is the only country founded on an ideal and not just lines on a map by nobleman. This man has grasped that ideal and lived by it. It's awesome. Not only is he one of us, he is a reminder of the importance of that ideal.
Wait wait wait, hold up. This guy walks in off the street into a recruiting office at age 32 and becomes a Navy SEAL? 🤯 Where is the movie about this guy’s life?
My neighbor growing up was Polish. He fought in WW2 as a kid and fought in Korea. Sad that such men were chased out of their own country. But, I am happy men such as this are now our fellow citizens.
If only we had more citizens that loved our country as much as this American does. I'd trade about a 1000 of some present americans for 1 of this man. Thank you sir.
@@tomjeff1743 There's a 'distinct and obvious difference' between Drago and most Americans. Many immigrants have lived through far worse than most home-grown Americans ever will. I wouldn't be so hard on immigrants...
@ Echo Romeo Until more Americans see what it really is like for many people around the world, I am afraid they will never have the appreciation of someone who has endured a world where Freedom does not exist. It saddens me to think what most go through someone such as Dragos head when he sees the way some Americans act toward this Country. Most citizens should feel ashamed at the fact that while they are disrespecting this country there’s millions of people all around the world who don’t understand how they cannot see just how blessed they really are.
This video put tears in my eyes I escape socialism 4 years ago, I arrived to this country and have the same feeling. I’m working on becoming a ranger and I’m willing to fight and die for this country that gave me everything
"I came here with nothing. Everything I have I owe to this country. I want to do something for my country" That right there is max gratitude with a splash of humility!
Only half way in and I absolutely love this guy. "I'm an American. I want to contribute. I want to fight for my country." I liked those lines... good reminder to hold ourselves accountable.
One of the first times i saw Drago online was back when Mike Ritland and a few other seals were having a chat in the team room. He is still as funny as ever today. What a top bloke Drago is
National guard enlists until 35. Most branches enlist until 28 years old. Depending on how smart you are, you can enlist until 35, if you're going into intelligence or something noncombat. If you want the most bang for your buck, I recommend going Army and trying for the warrant officer program. Get officer level pay but no need for a college degree. There are limited jobs though. Mostly helicopter jobs, either pilot or door gunner type stuff. Regardless, eventually transition into national guard. Then you can get a civilian job. I recommend trying to get a state government job, you'll get preference as a veteran, and after working your state government job for 20 years you'll get a state pension. If you stay in the national guard the entire time you'll qualify for federal pension too. Double dip those pensions man. Welcome to the US. Glad to have you =)
Drago and Jocko have become a massive inspiration. I discovered Jocko’s channel about 2 weeks ago and it has changed my life. So much inspiration and I owe the utmost respect. Never had the privilege to serve, but those that do always have my deepest respect. I hope more people discover this incredible channel and simultaneously pull their heads out of their asses and wake the fuck up to their surroundings. I hope and wish the best to these men our country. Thank you.
@@jamesg3456 unfortunately I don’t think the standards are the same anymore. We also have no active wars. Instead our soldiers are sent to the Congo to protect ANC mining interests, without proper equipment and logistics and they are slaughtered.
Haha we have many men like this . This mentality is bred into us at a young age in Poland . The only reason we still exist is because we always fought . I’m so thankful and happy that American took my mother and me in . This is the most amazing country in the world . I would gladly defend this land and my fellow citizens. I owe this country so much .
It’s because of men like this that fighting is worth it to me. This country gave me everything I have, and not just that, but it gives so much to everyone who comes here. To give thanks and to protect that for my brothers and sisters I am willing to lay down my life and fight, even for the liberal hippies around me who are in a constant anti-American mindset. If my eyeballs don’t screw me over, then I’m going to become a Navy SEAL. Currently 17 in Corvallis Oregon!
This guy looks so different without the beard and the glasses. You have jacked Polish guy without the beard, and then You have Jacked Navy seal Santa clause with the beard and the glasses. Thank you for your service!
I loved Drago's story about when he was in the Persian Gulf War in Baghdad and called in on a radio for weapons, and the guy on the other end of the radio thought he was an Iraqi soldier who was fooling. "Who is this?" This is Drago." "Yeah, right you don't even speak English."
@@fighisver This. The amount of different movements calling eachother "socialism" for whatever reason, yet differing in their methods, has been quite large, if you consider the entire globe. The term has a definition, yet the outcomes seem to be very different. It's kind of a demonized word like 'fascism': The average person has only a vague idea of its meaning beyond "bad". Historical features of marxist movements, its' use as it relates to social democracy, what about China? All just a blur, but it's bad. I do agree with your implication though: Communism is a tool for authoritarian governments to rise to power, and the details get lost underneath it.
It’s funny because every time I watch a seal talk about life. I think about Chris Kyle, talking about in his book about other team members and ask if they been choked out ? And if not. Get choked. So that badass mindset is there! And I listen to the seals I watch and some don’t even cuss. They seem so nice, and that’s the person that will destroy everyone. Just a thought
@@Rauser142 obviously, but “Polak” in English in the US is a slur which was used to ridicule polish people when they first started immigrating to the US p.s. jestem sam polakiem wiem co mówię
I love the guests on this podcast. All of them have truly unique and inspiring stories. Would love to see Matt Eversmann (75th rangers, battle of Mogadishu) or Kregg P. Jorgenson on. (LRRP Ranger and later member of 1st Cav's "blues" QRF force in Vietnam)
I saw a few people comment that "Draggo" is more american than most americans. I don't think he would agree. I have met a few people who have sacrificed some really great things for our country and when people say that they almost always have the same reaction. It's usually something like "No, we are equally american I just wanted to give something to the country that gave so much to me". However Drago is now my new hero and has taken Jockos place as my favorite seal. (Jocko... I would appologize... but you kinda set yourself up for this one XD)
The reason people say this is because being an American patriot is being likened to Nazi nationalism. Fighting for our constitution and American ideals is being called white privilege. He absolutely stands for what Americans stand for because he has been oppressed, not just stating he’s been oppressed because he’s bored and brainwashed by a communist news media. He’s an Americans American.
I always wondered why people joined the Navy without knowing how to swim. I would say that's like joining the airforce while being afraid to fly. .....but that isn't an accurate analogy.
I've watched an interview with a WW2 navy veteran somewhere on YT and he said that he couldn't swim and it wasn't a problem because if your ship sinks in the middle of pacific, there's nowhere to swim to anytway.
@@spluker88 Its true. And its scarier than the ordinance. I still think of the ocean as "the cold black"; because I almost got washed off an elevator of an aircraft carrier at night. But to your point.... there's a famous case study in ww2; when sailors had to keep afloat and tread for 2 days as they were being picked off by sharks, and as tired as they were; had to climb nets when rescued, because if touched their waterlogged skin would be de-gloved.
I got Jackie’s up in airborne school. There was one POF direction I almost didn’t complete to move on to the jumps. Forget which way but after the 15th time I got it.
This is what being an American is all about. It’s a catastrophe so many natural born Americans don’t see it. I’m afraid we’re losing these good Americans
Drago was 31 in boot camp?? He looks like he could still be in his 30’s .....40’s maybe.. 😎 And here’s another great example of a motivated individual who set a goal - and battled everything to reach that goal. Never Quit.
