most complete and to the point guide i found, great job man thankyou so mush , you included everything i wanted to know without being long winded and overexplaining KUDOS!!!!
The most important thing to add about combat rogues is that it requires a good raid setup and how huge the dps spike is in 25men raids compared to 10men and 5men dungeon groups, braindead assasination spec is same all the way, but as a combat you really do feel every single buff you get from each class and spec and its buffing you dps for huge amount
I do some Stuff in another Way. First the Glyphs. I put in Killing Spree, Sinsiterstrike and Rupture. The Reason will come Clear afterwards. I start the Rotation a little bit different. Start with garrote, 1CP SND -> 3-4 CP -> Killingspree -> 5CP SND -> 5 CP Ruptur. What the Sinisterstrike Glyphe does is to grant me an extra CP sometimes. Combined with the Rupture Glyph you can now sneak a 3-5 CP Evi between Rupture and SND refresh with minimal Rupture an no SND downtime. In my opinion the Fan of Knives Glyph is waisted cause the Benefit in that specc isnt that high. If you wanna shine in AOE do a 2nd AOE spec and Switch between Boss and Trash. This is way better for Mainspec Assasination rogues cause they can waist the combat CD's but for a Combat Rogue its Vailable too (even without special Gear you join in with 20k+ Trash DPS) especially when you know the raid that you could time your CD's at Trashwaves without loosing them on Bosses.
Another great video, though after your assassination video I swapped for the first time ever and I’m loving it! Did naxx last night and was almost doubling my usual dps as combat. My only issue now is gear, I bought two daggers so I could switch (paper cutter being one and that epic world drop can’t remember it’s very long name) then got two daggers given to me in naxx and they’re all so similar I can’t decide which to use. Everything I read says to stick with paper cutter in mh over the naxx epics I got (anarchy and I think it’s called dark ruin or something) But yeah I guess this is more a thanks for yesterdays video convincing me to give assa a try
Im glad you’re loving the spec! Assassination is gonna be my go-to spec for Phase 1 and 2 then maybe looking at Combat again :) The paper cutter is a great dagger because of it’s speed tbh, you’ll have that dagger for a while haha Thanks so much for the comment btw, I love to have these discussions :)
For assassination you use paper cutter in the main hand until you get webbed death, you use your slowest dagger with the highest dps in the OH (anarchy is good here) For combat you use paper cutter in the OH (if you aren’t swords) and you only need to switch this out for webbed death. Why only webbed death to replace paper cutter you may ask, speed is the reason it’s the only upgrade in both specs from paper cutter. Which is great for gearing since you can ride paper cutter so long
I never understood why no one runs opportunity + RS for the extra cp + energy since you spam finishers for different things. Opportunity is a flat 20% bonus damage.
hi. glad you could reply to my question. I am wearing combat tallent and using daggers as weapons, one dagger with 258 gearscore and one with 225 gearscore... 1.4 258Gs and 1.8 225Gs Where is a good position to place the dagger?
Personally I swap the Fan of Knives glyph for Glyph of Sinister Strike, as this seems to be better for single target combat because of faster combo point generation
I've had pretty bad luck with gear so far. Picked up murder the other day, if calamity drops ill prolly swap to combat until I get better daggers. Combat is actually performing very close the assassination.
They absolutely can perform quite closely and from I’m hearing a lot of - Combat might even pass Assassin in later Phases! I tbh might go Combat as the expansion moves forward!
214 expertise rating in order to reach the expertise cap How did you get 36/36? i'm confused, also for hit rating which is 237 as softcap having a druid in raid. Cheers!
The actual expertise cap is 132 because as a Combat we have the weapon expertise talent But yeah I am over the cap in the vid for sure As far as hit I tend to gear on the off chance there’s no boomkin Great notes btw, thanks!
Can someone explain to me like I’m a 5yr old why Avvools Juul sword is NOT better than Liberians Paper cutter. I’m running Avools and Greed atm and I see Assas Rogues with daggers and a lower gear score out dps me
The faster speed on the dagger gives you more poison procs I believe. Not to mention, as a Combat you'll be out DPSed by Assassination rogue slightly until later phases with Armor Pen becoming more available. That assumes you're both playing perfectly. Gear obviously contributes to this too
@@itsego_tv thank you! Ok so I was hoping someone would bring up the haste but I’m an idiot and didn’t connect it to poison procs. I know you’re not saying that it’s like 1k dps difference but is this reason enough to make a difference? It procs that much more, huh? Interesting
@@Effexlol Avool's sword is not a fist weapon/dagger and doesn't fit in with a fist weapon/dagger talent setup, the dagger both benefits from the talented extra 5% crit chance and is 0.2 faster on weapon swings, which will proc combat potency and deadly poison more often. When it comes to offhand weapons, faster speed will beat weapon damage 100% of the time irregardless of which weapon specialization you choose to use. Don't mix weapons from different specializations, it will always be lower dps. If you are going to be a fist/dagger combat rogue, your best offhand is webbed death, followed closely by librarian's paper cutter, a blue BoE, nothing else comes remotely close to these 2 daggers right now. Even powerful, fast fist weapons like the hand of nerub are weaker simply because they are too slow when compared to the fastest daggers.
Combat of course pretty much every expansion! Combat is about the highest damage you can do at the end of the expansion but takes a lot of practice and learning to master. Once you get that armor pen maxed and a high passive crit, your damage will scale very nicely.
@@itsego_tv Hey broo! hope everything allright, can you help me with the little icon addon of the spells that appear when u use it, i still couldnt find it or activate. Nice videos again ;D
Assa is definitely the strongest spec right now but as we know moving into ToC , ICC combat rogues pull ahead. Neither specs are difficult to learn, no major mechanics you have to worry about, very straight forward. Solid and easy to play for the expansion.
Assa rogue is better than combat in terms of dps, but its by far the most boring spec to play as you have nothing to do or worry about, you just smash mutilates into envenoms like braindead
I wouldn’t say they’re “bad” but every Rogue I’ve seen used Fist Weapon and Dagger because of the increased off-hand speed and crit chance through Talents! The increased speed will proc your poisons more so it’ll give you that extra damage :)
Swords are not bad, sword/axe specialization is still the best but right now in phase 1 there isnt any good main hand sword that can be compared to fists weapons from KT25 and KT10, and there isnt any off hand sword with 1.40 speed which is why dagger is the best in slot right now. Therefore going for swords in this phase is just a huge dps loss
Thanks so much for the comment! I believe it’s ClassicAuraDurations? I have a whole list of my addons available for my subs, it’s free to sub to the channel and you’ll see the video on the home page!
Thx, helped a lot ! Sry but i have to asked again: i use expose armor instead of Rupture if no Warrior uses it? Because i always have rupture on target even no expose armor is set by Warriors. Most of the time this happens; i mostly play some hero dungeons. Thx
@@itsego_tv sry for late. Thx for answer. I tried dmg test at a dummie in Stormwind with SnD and then only expose armor or only rupture with medium gear and i was surprised that both had nearly same dmg results at the same timeline
So that is another option yes, though from all the guides I’ve seen and my personal experience, Fist Weapon and Dagger is the way to go but only my a small percentage - swords and all that is still viable!
Combat Rogue is better as far as utility to the raid, they’re beaten only slightly by Assassin with equal gear, in future phases they actually even get crazier!
Hi! Just wanted to let you know, that you´re way over the expertise cap, which is a complete waste of stats. It´s missleading for those who are going combat. Expertise cap without racial bonuses is 132. Video is great, otherwise!
