Exercise Gauntlet Strike was the culminating activity of the Armour Regimental Officer Basic Course in tanks, cavalry, artillery, engineering, and the Mechanised Regimental officer course for Infantry Officers.
Held at the Combined Arms Training Centre at Puckapunyal, the courses qualified the Army's latest cohort of Arms Lieutenants to confidently command their soldiers after successfully completing platoon and troop activities as a combat team against a realistic opposition force.

Great drone footage especially with the artillery dropping short.

Ah, the term drop short, doesn’t mean what you think it does. It actually means dropping short of the enemy and essentially bombing your own troops!

@@dominicgalea6006 as a 23 year veteran of the ADF including a tour of Vietnam, I know precisely what a “drop short” refers to. I was trying to be humorous but it obviously didn’t quite work.

OMG so many memories of Pucka.... I even found a Tungsten Leopard 105 round in the dirt - it is an excellent paper weight. Many, many, many a freezing night out on "the range", especially in "Siberia"....And the best was going to Seymour to that nightclub back in the early 90's - many a night to remember!!!!

Ahh, Puckapunyal. The many days I spent there in my Leopard tank, being rained on, or chocking in dust, or both at the same time. Brings tears to my eyes. 🥲

So funny seeing soldier still "cam up" - for no real reason.........Ughhh that cam cream was the worst!. But when we were based in Holsworthy, there was a Ballet Shop, that sold us the tri colour creams, but in a powder form that didn't destroy your face and make it un-breathable etc....was excellent.!!!!
