In this video I show a quick run down of the setup I put together to get myself the appropriate airflow for usage of my HVLP paint sprayer.
While analyzing the fittings and couplers and adapters I used, bear in mind I was trying to utilize many pieces that I already had. I could have streamlined (ie:, used less pieces) if I had started the project with no fittings whatsoever, and acquired from there.
That said, I used check valves and t adapters, hi flow male and female adapters and couplers, barbs, etc- pieces readily found on Amazon prime, as well as northern tool and harbor freight.
I purchased two 2.5 HP, 10 gallon, 6.2 scfm @ 40 psi, air compressors from harbor freight at $160 each, which together, should theoretically give me a total 12.4 scfm, thus allowing me to spray exceptionally large projects. For roughly $400-$450, I have achieved what no compressor at 120v can achieve in this price range.
I hope this video serves to inspire you to consider this alternative if you find yourself needing more airflow on a limited budget!
