This is just an incredible behind the scenes talk with Roger! Rich, I am just beyond thankful. I used to literally dream of what went on at The Price is Right! I literally am in awe of being able to watch this a) in my hand! b) that this is being discussed here when I am 40 years old and how I used to think of this as a 10 year old and c) that I feel like God has put me in a path that connects me to y’all! What a wonderful thing this is!!!!! Amazing!

Having Roger on was awesome. Would be cool too if you could get Fingers on sometime. Did not know Roger was on the crew of Match Game. Game Show Network shows episodes of the early years of the Gene Rayburn version (think they are in '75 right now). Will have to watch closely given how Gene loved to heckle the crew, resulting in them appearing on camera.

Absolutely agree that Alec Baldwin is not a game show host ... to me he looked like he was embarrassed to be there and his delivery felt very forced.

One of the worst. I just couldn't stand that stupid 13 year old sexual inuindos. Or when all the stars would gather around the one star writing the answer. Ugh!!!!!!

The deal with Rod and the Primetime specials from 2002 is this…. Barker told Rod he would be paid scale for the Primetime specials. Rod insisted he be paid what he was worth. A very heated and loud argument ensued. Agents were involved, Rod held firm and ultimately received the pay he deserved, but that’s when his camera time was eliminated. It was Fremantle who took the blame with the explanation given there was a new international company policy of no longer showing announcers on camera which nobody believed as the substitute announcers were shown on camera

Well, Bob did t go drinking with the staff every day. It was the show’s employees who went drinking every afternoon.

@@BradTyler1984 They didn't normally play two SP games on the same show, and Barker's last show pretty much had to have Plinko. Add to that increasing commercial time by that point, and....

Everybody loved Bob Barker and miss Bob Barker, esp. with Roger Dobkowitz, who was his closest/dearest friend and (of course) his mentor. And the worst part was that Roger watched Bob Barker, since he was just a boy. I asked him if he ever watched "Truth or Consequences," which was Barker's 1st TV exposure. Dobkowitz said "Yes," of every game show that he watched at the time. He learned a lot about Bob Barker to know him in Bob Barker.

I have never watched the show with Drew… the new show is horrible…I miss Bob Barker and miss the old price is right

If the show is still on the air more than 15 years after Bob Barker retired, Drew Carey & the current producers are doing something right. They have a 2013 & a 2018 Emmy award to prove it.
