True. I wish Shill Up didn't abort his plans for Laymen Gaming just to focus on his main channel. Without the duo, the channel felt less fun. All the funny banter was gone and it felt like Sam was trying hard to fill in the gap solo and it just didn't work. They were great as a pair.

@@zerotactix5739 I wish he didn’t either, but he was the more professional cut-and-dry brother, seems he carried that over to the SkillUp channel… If that’s the content that makes him happy, good on him. I think the downhill slide started just before Ralph left, when they posted a bunch of redundant Fall Guys videos… Seemed they were looking for a new direction for the channel and began fumbling around then… then Ralph announced his departure shortly after. Before that, this was one of the most promising looking channels, great energy great banter.

@@roe2479 I thought Laymen Gaming was the most entertaining form of news topping YongYea, AJSA and even SkilUp posts to a certain degree. The banter and jokes were so fresh and kept the news entertaining. I like SkillUps quick formula but it literally leaves out everything that was good about Laymen. His solo jokes are sometimes unbearable I hope we see more Sam in the future whether its this channel or his own thing

Sucks to see the channel die, but I admit after Ralph left, it simply wasn't as good. Sam is great, but Sam and Ralph worked best as a team. Sam on his own struggled from day one. They clearly fed of each other and that's what worked.

If he had been smart he would have done it alone in the first place instead of creating an expectation of Ralph being there and then it changing. Truth is, throughout history there have been duos. Sometimes a duo is nothing if the pair is not together. They feed off each others energy, as these guys did. Sam just struggled alone, and that's not the communities fault. That's just fact.

You're framing it as "ralph left" but my theory is that Sam wanted the monetization from Layman games or a larger share of it, and as such Ralph said, OK take it all, but do everything yourself.

Gotta say I first found this channel obviously because of Ralph and his channel But over time I grew to love the Laymen channel far more for the dynamic of conversations between two people with great chemistry. All of you brothers are great and I had way too many laughs throughout the two and a half years I watched you guys grow. When Ralph left I didn't know if there was something going on, and if there is... I hope all is well. Ralph continues SkillUp, however I liked the conversations you guys shared for so many reasons! THE MEHMEHS! The what feels old "Gaymen Laming" jokes and good timess. Thanks for so much Sam! To you, your brothers Alex and Ralph... i wish you all good health, safety and happiness. I liked this movie a good bit. The best scene is when the TV starts flipping through channels and the creature says "I am loneliness". Yeah, since Skillup left, there has been a constant drop in views. He obviously knows there is a problem but isn't saying anything. Also, when you are making many videos and have a huge audience, you can afford to get someone to do the editing. When the money vanishes, you cannot afford to pay for an editor, so must rely on your own skills. This all takes extra time and may mean the same level of professional editing is now gone, and it is showing. So sad, I really used to love watching these guys.

@Red Panda Thanks man sorry but I did see that video. It came down to money issues as you said and Gaz was taking it out of his own purse to pay them. I get that. However, Mike was able to stay but chose to leave. But personally I really believe even though they were running at a deficit they could've worked it out. Maybe it wasn't enough for 4 salaries but Gaz had his own music page, income, 500K+ subs etc. I just feel as though they were like a Welsh Gameranx, there was so much potential there. I also feel as though it was greed or tunnel vision - yes they were probably struggling students but if they came together and said "we've got almost half a million subscribers, how can we make this work?" I think in the initial influx of subs they were expecting 1 channel to support four grown men + their families.

@Red Panda About a week or so ago, PGG's owner announced that the channel was shutting down. However, he said he would have a special guest soon. This turned out to be his daughter. He is trying to start again and return to his roots of where the channel started when his young daughter was playing Minecraft with him, though I don't know if this will take off.

I miss this channel when Ralph would put out his “serious” reviews on ShillUp, then could be a goofball with Sam over here. I used to watch laymen more than ShillUp back then. Now I’m forced to listen to Ralph be boring on his own channel, and put out news roundups that with stale comedy. You guys are better as a duo, with Pizza Ralph showing up from time to time.

I blame these endless unfunny fat joke comments for the lack of uploads as much as I do Ralph for jumping ship. Do y'all really think Sam and Alec want to read this shit over and over and over? I sure don't and I don't blame them if it's one of the reasons why they don't make videos often anymore. It's easily at least 1/5th of all comments on any given LG video. WE GET IT.

Don’t know if it’s worse, personally I much preferred this format, but Ralph does what he does very well. I get that he can’t carry Sam for all time, it’s just a shame as this channel was an absolute gem and worked so well if this your preferred format. I definitely miss this channel, going back and rewatching the reviews and discussions is a wrench as they’re so good. Especially with Thicc Boi too.

Ralph left because Sam wanted to turn it into a live stream channel instead of the news edited format. Not sure why Sam couldn't have just done his own thing on the side, live streaming is boring as hell.

@@jimmycakes7158 Probably most likely is it was taking up too much of his time heading up both channels. The long livestreams on Saturday mornings when you have a wife etc is a big ask as well as the additional content. I liked the livestreams but they were never and could never be the main feature.

@@subhuman8945 It's better but everyone rich from south buys a house here now so now many houses sell for 2-300000 over asking. Life is 'normal' but our premier wants to build permanent camp and keep us safe forever and meanwhile rest of the world can travel soooooo safely locked up we are,-) but free to leave the house at least. I am hoping you guys come out of this safe and they give us our freedom back *one day* and that your corrupt premier and deputy premier go to gaol like they should however things are not looking good for the penal colony.----0)

@@jimmycakes7158 I didn't know about any livestreaming, to me the channel was a fun way to start the morning off with a coffee while eating breakfast. As far as i'm aware they were good and then one day ralph just left to focus exclusively on skillup but if that is what actually happened or not i don't know. The channel was great when it was the two of them throwing jokes and less great when it was just Sam alone.
