To think people are now playing this game and pretending this game was good at launch and things were blown out of proportion. Same thing cyberpunk fans did
The Starfield meme is sadder today since Star Fox 64 is entirely ship combat, while you rarely ever actually fly your ship in Starfield. It mostly exists as a loading screen.
Time to go through Laymen’s coverage of this shitshow again. It’s been five years, but Fallout 76 will never not be a bug-riddled greedy embarrassment of a “game” no matter how much better it has gotten.
Ralph was already doing skill up, he’s been for a long time. I think it was when he was around 300k subs that him & Sam here - they’re brothers - decided to start the laymen channel. They did it for a few years or so then Ralph decided the skill up channel was too much work on its own, so he walked away & left Sam with the laymen channel. Definitely wish Sam stuck with it but I’m sure he’s got better things goin on
Still fun seeing people boring out or even getting angry over this game in 2024. This is a game that rallied against all the crap the (open world) gaming industry was built and playtested around: super compressed theme parks, where every five metres you find loot, combat or a point of (un)interest. As else you may lose your target audience by indeed "boring" them. Even a lot of the quests here have you engaging with fairly mundane period stuff, rather than delving into caves, fighting or finding treasure. I've never played a big budget RPG with this little (mandatory) combat to start with. Now that the sequel is announced and developed by a team of hundreds after the game WAS a success, hopefully they're not going to soften up. No matter if you liked KCD or not, nobody needs another Bethesda, Rockstar or Ubisoft. Speaking of which, even by Morrowind, Bethesda had already changed a lot.
Seeing how Neither Sony nor MS aren't rolling out games for their current console anytime soon. E3 2024 wouldn't have made no sense for either of these two to show up.
