Dean Power, Tenor Peter Whelan, Conductor. Irish Baroque Orchestra. By kind permission of the National Concert Hall, Dublin. This performance was part of the NCH Classical Livestream Series 2020.
What an amazing voice. I loved the fact that his embellishments were not only well performed but stylistically matched the straight forward notation. What a treasure this tenor is !
It IS a beautiful, and well-trained voice. Personally, I'd have liked to hear a little more expressive/showy ornamentation, since his instrument can obviously do it.
I'll be performing every valley today at a concert, so i decided to watch some videos of the song being performed.....and i must say i have learnt alot from just watching this performance... And I believe I'm going to add some of your discipline in my singing today... Welldone
Très plaisant. Bel accent, belle force, de la retenue et de la puissance, joli timbre, de la présence, de l'aplomb, de la sûreté. La virtuosité à perfectionner et il sera un grand maître.
A strange thing to say in day and age. However this is a prophetic GOD inspired word to people ,His creation to find comfort in Him Timely. jeff , down under.
Fantastic job! I was once asked to sing "Ev'ry Valley" for a local "cantata" at Christmas. I did it, but it was a vocal adventure for me and nowhere near Dean's quality. It's in the top two of the most difficult things this amateur ever sang. Well done, sir!
baroque tuning was not our standard A=440 Hertz it was different across Europe, but it has become tradition to sometimes do baroque music tuned down to A=415 Htz which would be the equivalent of a half step down.
