Comfrey medicinal herb: Benefits, Cautions, Skincare Uses. How to extract? Allantoin Anti-aging 

I'm trying to find the study..itself but I hear the dangerous dose is 40cups a day for 40yrs is a dangerous dose.. whenever I hear a herb is dangerous just think who benefits. I mean just look at the rona and how a certain drug was demonized

Comfrey is not recommended for internal use. It’s extract can be used topically for pain relief, however it is not to be used on open wounds.

@@LeTimeLeo ...Symphytum officinal should be used (Medicinal Comfrey) NOT Symphytum vulgaris (Russian comfrey). Herbs should NOT be prepared using metal pots and utensils, only glass. Not to be used internally. Allantoin used in cosmetics is an ISOLATED form. Allantoin promotes proliferation of cell growth and is used as anti wrinkle agent. Allantoin isolate does NOT discriminate between cells, so if you have an active cancer it SHOULD BE AVOIDED (!) it will proliferate cancer cells. Medicinal comfrey has other plant chemicals that balance the the allantoin and works synergistically. It is known to be used for wound and bone healing (fractures). It can be prepared with beeswax, olive oil and a plant for salve or skip beeswax as an oil. (Cloverleaf farm, Dr. Christopher brands)

@@mahwahazet4133 Hi, thank you for your comments. Alantonin is small molecule and volatile. It can be extracted through distillation togather with other volatile compounds. Because Alantonin has good solubility in water, it will stay in the hydrosol and good for skin care. PAs are toxins in Comfreys and Russian comfrey (Symphytum asperum) contains higher concentration of echimidine, most toxic PAs in comfrey than other variations. However they all contains such toxic chemicals. This is why comfrey is not recommended for internal comsuption. PAs are large molecules which are NOT volatile so it won't be extracted during distillation and doesn't go into hydrosol. This make the hydrosol safer for skin use. However it is also not recommended for internal use.
