Whilst his wife is having fun over at Comic-Con Liverpool on the first day of its May 2024 event, Kilt-Man discusses his past exploits and cosplays and anticipates his next one - because he will be there tomorrow, for its second day!
He and his son will be meeting the Hobbits - Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan - and maybe even some of you guys too!
But ... what character will Kilty be going as?

RIP Bernard Hill - passed unexpectedly in the early hours of May 5th: he was actually supposed to appear at the Comic-Con in Liverpool, but announced some days prior that it had to be cancelled because his partner had become ill. He was 79 and would have turned 80 in December, but he was still active and working on various acting projects - including his role in The Responder - and this role of his in The Responder will have its first airing the same day he passed. 😔

I had only recently watched some of his roles again - and he had so many of them! I remember many, many years ago when I first saw the 1976 TV adaptation of I, Claudius and I thought, "is that Bernard Hill" - he played the Praetorian Guard officer who proclaimed Derek Jacobi playing Claudius as the new Roman Emperor - I, Claudius was for Bernard Hill one of his earliest roles. Perhaps if Kilty has the time he could make a video - I mean, this was King Théoden with his famous rousing speech from The Lord of the Rings as he leads his cavalry to what might well be their death in the great battle; Captain Smith from Titanic who bravely went down with the ship as the bridge was engulfed by the sea - among so many other roles.

Have a good time, tomorrow, mate. I'm trying to conjure the energy for Melbourne Comic-Con, next month... getting harder to be bothered each year, to be honest. I'm with you, when it comes to cosplaying. I'm only 40, but injuries and the noodle spine have caught up with me and getting kitted out is just too much of a pain in the arse, these days, especially dealing with public transport.
