I can confirm, saw in half is a good card. It is terrible removal in a pinch, but I have survived a Voltron attack because of it. More importantly though, the things it works with (aristocrats) it works with WELL. With nothing on the field, you can saw in half Gary to drain your opponents for 8 if that is the only thing in your battlefield. Opponent going to survive craterhood behemoth? How about 3 triggers in 1 turn?
@@IslarfPokemon Ratidrabik is awesome. Give it myriad, and the game ends really quickly. (Attacks, tokens die, all 3 see each other die. Left with original+4 copies)
@@kishibelunatikfor sure, but I’ve been in “casual” pods where people are playing rhystic study and revised dual lands but there’s no combos…. lol. I feel ya
Finally, my one true love, Beledros Witherbloom is being recognized for its true power. I’ve been playing this Golgari powerhouse for the past 3 years as my go to commander. All hail the one true Golgari Queen!
Plumb forbidden is also an instant speed sac outlet hidden in your hand. Might seem like nuance but players will often hold removal for your blood artist effects for when you present a sac outlet. Plumb has a high ceiling.
Happy belated birthday Amber-cat! If I'm remembering correctly I was 12 when I started playing Magic the Gathering and because of that choice I now know who Krenko, Mob Boss is so obviously it was a good decision.
Arena of Glory is so strong and it's currently rising (at least in europe). Giving up to two dudes haste without having to pay extra mana in that turn is is just so good. It's basically a free card. It's a land and it produces red, not colorless. Normally lands that give haste are very creature type specific and/or they make colorless mana and most importantly, they ask for extra mana to be able to give haste. With Arena of Glory you CAN just cast that busted 5 drop the moment you have 5 mana and immediately attackh with it. Haste is just so important in commander. People are also weirdly sleeping on Archway of Innovation. (but going nuts for three tree city...it makes no sense)
I just want to say that I'm happy with how you two have grown this channel and how well you mesh together. I'm pretty excited to see where you head next. 😊
Some cool things you can do are put in a leyline of vitality and make the pests 1/2 creatures and also gain life as they enter. Plus, in the 99, pair it with dragon broodmother, and then you line up the triggers to put the pest out first, then have the dragon token devour the pest you gain a life and you have a bigger flying dragon token.
Love Greater Good. I put it in my Tarmagoyf MH3 deck. Someone used Wrath, I drew 40 cards. At my discard, I won because I discarded Pyrogoyf and enough other Goyfs to blow up the table. Fun combo.
Good call on Plumb the Forbidden, it offers so much value in aristicrat strategies or in response to a boardwipe, but calling Saw in Half not a good card is kind of goofy. Mia mentioned the synergy with Gary, and that is obviously strong, but it is good with pretty much any non-legendary value creature - Dockside, anyone? - or even legendaries with crazy ETBs like Keruga, or Prime Speaker Zegana. Bonkers strong, amazing potential.
I recently rebuilt my first ever commander, Jarad Golgari Lich Lord, and now I need to make some adjustments because I didn't even think about most of the cards from this video.
At the tables i play, nadu is kinda like an armagedon. People just know how powerful it is and therefore don't play it. Atm i kinda feel the same about greater good in my muldrotha deck. If that card sticks for 2 turns some times 1 is enough its gonna win the game.... After mh3 my deck feels like it exeded casual and went to the lower high power tables ... Not sure whether i want to be there😅
@@henrytorr5810 apparently you didn't watch the video. His exact words "I specced it at $6.79 and it's already up." Meaning he locked in the price when he specced it earlier. If you look at tcgplayer right now it's at $16.70 and it hasn't been around the $6.80 mark since July 18th. I know they don't release the video immediately after filming, but they don't wait 2+ weeks to release a video.
Spymasters vault is so good in my massacre known killer deck. Kill a bunch a creatures and easily have at least a 10/10 with menace hitting you in the face
speaking of budget, do yall make changes to your budget decks when cards appreciate in value too much? I had a $50 budget deck earlier this year and now it's nearing $90 lol.
lmfao Eldrazi Conscription and Sovereigns of Lost Alara have been in my Rafiq of the Many deck since I built him in like 2010-2011 (first commander deck I built.) I also run Arcanum Wings because of Aura Swap
A video about how to trade cards without being ripped off by others would be nice. It sounds stupid, I know, but I’m terrible at it and that’s why I always find myself buying instead of trading cards 😅.
Nadu is not fun to play or play against just infinite wheel spinning. I played him twice and just removed him from my lands deck because it was so tedious
These are all good cards but highly chance of repeated reprinting. I'd look harder at cards that can't be easily reprinted - like playable cards from universes beyond (lotr, fallout, assassin's creed, etc) like the one ring, orcish bowmasters, excalibur, and brotherhood regalia, for example.
