Whip of Erebos is fantastic for this deck - it recovers the live lost from Gix's ability. Recursive creatures such as reassembling skeleton + Nether Traitor + Bloodghast so you don't mind swinging for the fences. Living death to get back the grew in case of a board wipe. Yawgmoth for additional phyrexian flavor and utility. Phyexian reclamation and Victimize for extra recursion and card advantage. Some others: Transmogrant's Crown + Skullclamp (Card advantage) Razorlash Transmogrant (Recursion) Braids, Arisen Nightmarre (Removal) Grim Haruspex + Midnight Reaper + Morbid Opportunist Death Tyrant + Blight Mound + Crowded Crypt for more bodies when your attackers die Hostile Negotiations Diabolic Intent Gixian Puppeteer - Incredible for this deck Vilis, Broker of Blood at the top end A great upgrade is black market connections, absolutely insane in a deck like this. What is the X based on

If its the X in Gix's activated ability. It's discarding X cards from your own hand. So we pay the 4BBB, then we discard 10 cards. We then get to exile 10 cards from the top of target opponent's library.
