It feels like the editing is more involved now, seeing all the comparisons or game actions on screen is fun. Also Beezy is wrong, Amber cannot be in the way on The Amber Show.
@@giancarlozambello5291considering she still does all the same bits and catchphrases, I think one would be Joe wanted to stop doing all the bits and catchphrases
13:01 "White has trouble in terms of ramp..." White has become the second colour of ramping in the meantime, iirc. I may be mistaking, but white got so much support in the last 4 years especially
Don't really think avenger of zendikar was judged fairly. Saying its stopped by a board wipe gives it more credit. If you leave plant dad up, in most decks they are dropping more lands or buffing/overrunning you the following turns. If no one is solving avenger and the plant children, and people are living the following turns, there a deckbuilding problem.
I have it in an Aesi Deck. Everytime it's played, it gets 2 land drops on its first turn while everything has summoning sickness, and at least 2 more the next turn, if not more. Meaning that by the time I can actually attack with them, they're at least 4/5's. That shits good if the deck supports it.
Putting the goose in poop tier is a travesty, I play it in all my bant decks, Shanna, Purifying Blade, Rigo, Streetwise Mentor, and Chulane, Teller of Tales, they all love the goose
Love the video and the discussions only criticism I have is the editing sound effects. Felt a bit out of place and distracting. I think just showing the cards you're talking about that synergies with the cards you're discussing felt more then enough. Otherwise keep up the great work as always !
I love using sad robot in my Osgir deck, with Osgir and Feldon to make copies from the graveyard that I can then sacrifice for even more value it's just one of the best ramp and card advantage pieces available
Great video! Being a Gishath lover, I am very biased towards Etali and Zacama as some of the best dinos to hit. However, I ultimately would consider the best outcome as Gishath hits Etali and Etali hits Zacama. This is because Etali technically "casts" Zacama from exile, so I think all lands would be untapped for free. Thus, I think the letter grade ends up being A + D = S with totally sound logic :D
I made a big mistake as a newbie the other day at Commander night at my LGS...I played an Enchanted Evening in my Azorius deck EARLY (it's part of an infinite combo with either Archon of Sun's Grace or Ajani's Chosen) and I didn't have a great hand but had the 5 mana to play it so I thought "Eh, why not, I didn't wanna reveal that I have this...but I'll go ahead and play it". Little did I know the other guy had a Dockside Extortionist just waiting to be played and he didn't even realize that Enchanted Evening makes ALL PERMANENTS IN THE GAME into an enchantment in ADDITION to their other types. We all scooped. Sadface.
Goose is a wonderful mana dork for a Korvold deck. One mana for a body and a token bare minimum so it's never really a dead draw because worst case scenario I can just feed it to Korvold and keep digging. Its a mana dork that triggers Korvold every time I make mana with it. If for whatever reason I dont have any fodder I can use 2 mana to make another Food which will let me swing with Korvold without negatively impacting my boardstate. NEEDING Food to make mana IS a downside, and Jund isnt exactly blink city but Food isnt actually all that hard to come by even with a small suite of cards to enable it. Academy Manufactor, Witch's Oven, and Tireless Provisioner alone make it quite easy to incidentally wind up with a bunch of Food just by doing their usual thing.
Guilded goose is legit in Korvold for sure. Versatile and can give something to sacrifice, including itself. Also sacrifice a food to make a mana will trigger Korvold once on the field.
Was gonna say exactly this. You dont NEED to run Food to make Korvold strong obviously, but a small package of like: Goose, Cauldron Familiar, Witch's Oven, and Academy Manufactor can really put in surprising work even in a tuned list meant for high power (non cEDH) games where an added gimmick like that would usually be quite bad
Only place I’d play Gilded Goose is in my Gimbal deck or a dedicated food deck. Being able to get good with it’s activated is GOOD, but only if you want the food at all.
Gilded Goose works well in Korvold. it gives Korvold something to sac as soon as it enters for just 1 mana, and can create more things for Korvy to sac. also goes nicely with Academy Manufactor
For real... The Gilded Goose synergies are so good. Academy Manufacturer? Food decks? Playing green + black and need some lifegain to spend on card draw? Aristocrats? Skullclamp? Flying blocker in green? Need a 1 drop dork for a turn two 3 mana commander? Definitely C minimum.
Could you guys do a video on playstyle key terms? For example you'll often reference a deck as tutor or some other variant and I would like to better understand those common ones
My main disagreement is Gary. Gary is just black Craterhoof. It’s just as easy an S tier. Your reasoning for it not being played in a black deck can be mirrored to not playing Craterhoof in a green deck.
I think it’s cause it’s the most popular ETB creatures from EDHREC and I don’t think the new Atraxa has been out long enough to make the list -it’s a super strong card tho, I’m sure it would be high
It hurts to see Zacama put in D tier. I know all metas are different, but in my Omnath, Locus of Creation deck, Zacama coming out turn 4 always brings groans of frustration from the table. Despite Zacama being the only dinosaur in the deck, it somehow has gotten the reputation as my "dumb dinosaur deck". I agree there are better options for my mana, but the utility of the card makes it better than D tier in my opinion.
yeah definitly, i'm also playing her, but in a Samut Voice of dissent deck; and it's just a stupid card, in fact, she's an alternative wincon. She doesn't deserve a D tiers, B tiers would be the right grade to me.
I have one deck that does run Gilded Goose, Yorvo. I run literally every single 1-mana manadork that taps for green mana to maximize the chance of a turn 2 Yorvo. For G-X decks with Commanders that are three mana with ALL color pips AND that want to ALWAYS want to play their Commander on turn 2, I think the Goose is fine. 8:10
I've only drawn Gary once in my Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker deck. I wound up 1v1, and kept bringing back Gary with my Fume Spitter lowering his power so he comes back... I clung on, but couldn't quite secure the win. One day he'll get there.
@@mofomiko I was coming off a board wipe and just didn't have Gary hitting the one player left for all that much. Multiple players would have really given me the life on that one.
Imperial recruiter works great in my veyran deck. It finds me either archmage emeritus or storm kiln artist and that’s all it really has to do since tutoring creatures is hard in red/blue. If I already have both those cards out and it’s kind of dead, I don’t really care because at that point I’m probably already winning
I've been down on Gilded Goose forever, but as Boreal Druid is good in snow decks, this bestest goosey boi is gettin right into my Samwise food deck. But, yeah, otherwise, card's not great. New tier: Goose poop tier' Also: Atraxa and Bill are the two best four-drop commanders, obviously.
what about angel of invention? 2/1 Angel for 3WW that gives +1/+1 to all other creatures but has Fabricate 2 (give here 2 +1/+1 or create 2 Servo 1/1 artifact creature token with flying). She's awesome in my Orzhov sacrifice/reanimate/token deck :D
Ok, I have no idea how you can put Craterhoof S tier but Gary is a B. Maybe it isn’t quite as powerful, but it’s 100 times more fun - and intractable. Gary is every bit as much of a win con but requires a bit more finesse
I know it may have been Joe's outro, but I miss hearing, "Peace out, tribe scouts." at the end of NN videos. Would y'all have to pay Cherries royalties to use his line?
Knight of the White Orchid is bottom of poop tier for sure. White has many better ways of ramping these days it’s just a 2/2 first strike for two mana the majority of the time. I wouldn’t ever play White Knight, so I definitely wouldn’t ever play Knight of the White Orchid
They can be decent! I think in weaker or budget decks I’d like Initiative more, but in higher power I’d rather just draw a card every turn with Monarch
Yall sleeping on the guilded goose is disappointing. One mana evasive creature that ramps and leans into the but. Plus it can generate additional food if you flicker or spend mana come on.
