he's by far the saltiest AND the spikiest of them and this season it's shown. his deckbuilding power level + the others' bad threat assessment and more casual play style has made for some bad matchups and unenjoyable videos.

It's so boring to watch him play the hardest and cry the most.

That's what happens though when you Awaken the Erstwhile when one player has a clear card draw advantage over others and on top of that you don't focus him down(like Jeremy attacking Justin with his Blackblade equipped Mina and Denn at first) and don't disrupt his Cabal Coffers + Urborg combo at first opportunity. Yeah sure, Jon could return his Coffers back, but doing something(even if it is pretty minimal) is better than doing nothing at all.

It does kind of matter as shamanic revelation now gains him more life and draws him more cards.

Working on a Muldrotha Lands Matter deck with tons of Landfall triggers and that is going to win off of big X spells like Villainous Wealth or Torment of Hailfire. Completely forgot about Blackblade Reforged though. Might need to add it to the list.

If I'm interpreting "enter the battlefield at the same time" to mean something similar to Genesis Wave, then you are also wrong about how VW works. VW is similar to Epic Experiment, Mizzix's Mastery, and Diluvian Primordial, where from among the exiled cards you pick spells one at a time to put on the stack until every spell you want to cast is on the stack, and once that's done, VW is done resolving and you put it in the yard, then resolve the spells one at a time, first in last out, with all players getting priority in between. But assuming I'm misinterpreting your understanding and you do know how it works, I don't think this misplay was that big a deal. Given enough time to stack things correctly, Jon would have been able to make enough 4 power plant tokens (thanks to Explosive Veg, Nissa's Pilgrimmage, Pir's Whim, and Crop Rotation, all of which Jon could stack so they resolve after Avenger has ETBed and made his plants) that his life total would be well above lethal range of everyone via Shamanic Revelation. EWit can also definitely get VW back: VW resolves (and thus hits the bin) before any of his stolen spells resolve, and because EWit is an ETB, VW will already be in the yard when EWit comes in and thus will be a legal target to recur (if EWit was instead a targeted instant/sorcery like Regrowth or Restock, you'd be right and Jon wouldn't be able to get VW back). You're correct that Jon got a couple extra advantages he shouldn't have, like getting Ob and Ramunap in play for extra draws off Revelation, and not properly saccing a land as an additional cost to Crop Rotation before resolving Avenger which gave him an extra plant/Landfall, but all these things are minor and ultimately Jon had more than enough resources to win that game. In an alternate universe where the table topdecks better, it might have mattered, but that wasn't this game.

He won a lot of games with that tactic in the past

Justin just gave the match to Jon by not destroy Jon's cabal or tomb, big mistake there.

@@FacGame2501 I think Justin gave Jon the game earlier on by casting Awaken the Erstwhile when Jon had Sylvan AND Tatyova AND a commander that literally gets better with an empty hand while everyone else had next to nothing on board, Justin included. It guaranteed that Jon could recover much faster than everyone else and put him miles ahead, so even when the game became archenemy Jon could handle it. I'm pretty disappointed in Justin, who has a clear affection for Mindslicer, that he thought that that was a good time to discard everyone's hand.

He can't he has to resolve all the cards from wealth first then can do actions it's like elsha of the infinite and miracle cards you cannot respond with any action while resolving the effects of a cast card.

sounded like a beard rubbing on the mic which could have been almost any of them. could also be faulty mic or bad mixing but seeing as it fixed itself and does not persist throughout the episode my guess would be beard on mic action

Build around each of their own personal SCG personality tokens. Justin is a zombie token, Jon is a 2/2 artifact creature token that can only be made by Urza's Factory, Jeremy is a plant token, and Steven is a survivor token.

Unfortunately only twice, yeah :/ In the episode where they played their personal decks and Jeremy played VW for the first time on the show, I believe he cast it like 5 times

Andrew Melson it has nothing to do with deck power it was the fact Justin discarded everybody’s hand when John was the only one with card draw

@@peewee130946 yes and no. It may have been a little different, but not much. Jon's decks are always higher on the power scale, but the problem is everyone just kind of ignores him, and for like the past 5 months focused Justin even when he was behind. It's a failure of threat assessment all around. Had everyone just attacked Jon with the zombie tokens, that would have been it.

jon should read the room and tone down his deckbuilding. 3 people arent the problem its the 1 person.

@@whiled_payne4324 I don't think he needs to tone his down, his decks aren't cEDH level or anything, but his decks are probably at a power level of 8ish while everyone else usually brings decks that are around 6-6.5. They also seem to item make suboptimal decisions rather that decisions to win them the game, which I always find strange. I understand sometimes it's for entertainment value (in this case, Justin using awaken the erstwhile because his whole plan was to put out as many zombies as possible), but I know they can certainly play better.
