So why do you have so much Graveyard recursion for instants and sorcerers? Is the goal of the deck to keep casting the commander storm cards? Also why the altar like Justin said?

@@BrokenAutumnLvs Pretty much for the Commander storm cards. Wanna get em going as many times as possible since you get so many copies. And I run all the sac altars just so I can kill my commanders and recast em. The mill is completely not important, usually. Wouldn't have done so much work without Insignia, which I haven't even had a chance to playtest. I'm happy with the result though. Mill is my favorite archetype! Well, archetype to win with.

JLK's pinger deck is the same way. Starts out as a joke, but you very quickly realise the joke is on you and things are getting dangerous fast.

Did you see one of the recent episodes? Justin plays this same deck... as a matter of fact, he built it personally.

Wes was a cool dude, we have diametrically opposed ideals on how to build and play, but he was most certainly a good guy. I'm just not a fan of blue cards in general.

Master of Cruelties' second ability does not care about the first ability, and there are numerous decks that seek to exploit this interaction, such as Kaalia of the Vast and Alesha, Who Smiles at Death. Dimir Doppelganger would copy Master of Cruelties after Jeremy declares attackers meaning it is an attacking creature, but before going to the declare blockers step. Jon is unable to declare a blocker for MoC, and is set to 1 life point. Jeremy moves to damage step and the other creatures assign lethal damage. Edit: To word it better after I read your comment again, the trigger happens when he isn't blocked, not when he attacks.

You do. Part of casting a spell is declaring its targets, which in Pull's case means the card has to be in the graveyard. Putting an instant or sorcery into the graveyard is the /last/ thing that happens during the resolution of the spell, so for Unexpected Results that happens /after/ you cast the new spell. Living Death + Eternal Witness is different, though, because Eternal Witness' ability isn't placed onto the stack (the point at which targets are declared) until after Living Death has fully resolved. Here's the relevant rule, if you're curious: 603.3. Once an ability has triggered, its controller puts it on the stack as an object that’s not a card the next time a player would receive priority. See rule 117, “Timing and Priority.” The ability becomes the topmost object on the stack. It has the text of the ability that created it, and no other characteristics. It remains on the stack until it’s countered, it resolves, a rule causes it to be removed from the stack, or an effect moves it elsewhere. Players don't receive priority /during/ Living Death's resolution, only once its resolution has finished. At which point, as you noted, Living Death is in the graveyard.

That wouldn't have done anything because Jon could have just milled him with the creature not put on top. Instead he should have made Dimir Doppleganger into Consuming Aberration on Jon's End Step. He could have cast Expel from Orazca from his graveyard on dungeon geists in his upkeep milled Jon for a bunch. Depending on the cost of the cards in his hand he would have gotten Jon because he didn't have a creature and about 14 cards in his graveyard. Maybe with a lot of luck that would be 28 damage? I didn't see what Jeremy had in his hand.

He could have actually flashbacked it in his upkeep with Kess, they mentioned it in the end.

Did you not watch last week's game at all? The selective memory needed to make this comment is pretty impressive. Stephen himself noted that this was a reasonable response to last week's game.

Well...to be fair, Jeremy was in last and Stephen was in first in points on the season. So it is actually correct if you look at it from a season-wide perspective.

@@tsho6131 That's true, but doesn't make it any less uninteresting or uncomfortable to watch miss prioritization of threats, as well as a player getting knocked out like 15 minutes into an hour + long game

If you watch this for correct plays, tight sequencing and threat analysis you're doing it very wrong. This is fun and casual, not competitive. Other channels provide that if you wish. Stop bitching and appreciate the free entertainment you've been given.

​@@Tryo707 If there is a point system which they make decisions on, you can't really say this isn't competitive. Fun comes into question when someone sits down to watch a game for an hour rather than play. I don't expect perfect plays, just not plays that just seem obviously bad or mean. Chill my dude.

This comment is kind of old, but as a Tuvasa player, I feel the need to let you know that Estrid’s Invocation does not contain the word “target.” Shroud does not effect it. They played it correctly.

They play a season long league battling for points. It's not supposed to be a big cinematic game. If you want that watch game knights instead

God no thanks. Command zone makes plenty of newbie friendly content. Commander Vs is great for showing very experienced players navigating through weekly challenges. Adding another player would just make the match go longer, i don't see much of a benefit to that.

If your commander changes zones you can choose as a replacement effect to return it to the command zone. Say your commander is kozelek the one who shuffles in the graveyard. You can have him enter the grave then when it is shuffled back into your library you can replace moving it from the grave to your command zone.

Sorry I missed the question. Leaving the battlefield is changing zone. So returning it to your hand is a change of zone.

Wow I play all the time and my play group always assumed to hand was the only place you could force someone to go. Good to know.

It deals 2 damage to any target and Jace had 2 Loyalty so yeah it has been able to kill him and did so.

@@funnydrunk83 nope, reveka was printed long before planeswalkers existed and for a very long time the way damage to planeswalkers worked was different anyways (you targeted the player and redirected it to the planeswalker basically, stuff like witchbane orb therefore basically gave planeswalkers hexproof from burn). This confusing rule was at some point changed and all "creature or player" pings/burns etc. got errata'd to "any target"
