They should have him to do the commanders highlights, that voice and he's a fan. I can feel the excitement in his commentating.

I got chills when he started talking about RFK. Didn't know Jeffrey was a Skins fan. It's a new day, let's fing go!

Met him like 6+ years ago on the set of Westworld. I was like 22 and new to the industry and knew he went to one of my rival high schools in VA. The second I name dropped the school I could see a light shine in his eye and for the rest of the day he made sure to stop and say what’s up whenever he spotted me. Seems like a genuinely kind man.

OMG!! Jeffrey gave me chills speaking about the pride of what it was to be a redskins fan. As an almost 40 year fan, his memories relived feelings about how I felt for that team. More than a fall from grace, the previous owner provided the shovel that buried that once glorious team. If Jeffrey is that optimistic, I can see a glimmer of hope in him, then I’m right there with him!!! Fight on sons of Washington!!!

What a thoroughly delightful interview. I'm older than Mr. Wright, with many of those same memories of my beloved Washington team, for whom I too bought season tickets in 2023, and have renewed for 2024.

American Fiction was one of my fav movies of 2023. Jeffrey's also great in Westworld, Game Night & The Batman.

Great Interview! Made me stand up and go look at my old ticket stub from that game in '83 and yup $20. The old RFK experience was unique, warm, and wonderful. It was also ahead of its time in many ways. You could take public transportation right to the stadium, which most people did and the fans were surprisingly socially, economically, and racially diverse. Nothing is perfect but that team and the stadium were a true unifying force in this city.

A truly great actor even in bad films. I have to give him a shout out for his role in the Boardwalk Empire - but then again everyone brought their A game to that series.

I love my team I became a fan in 1972. The Washington Redskins .I remember pat fisher.the dancing bear Ron macdole.chris hamburger. Dexter Manley Roy Jefferson. Sonny jergenson. Charlie taylor.larry Brown.and many many more players I remember.

I love that he connected the need for the name change as a part of the effort to expunge the former clown's taint on the team. Commanders is an objectively bad team name for so many reasons. The rhythm of it is all wrong, it feels like I have rocks in my mouth everytime I say Washington Commanders. It's a weak name, like something a Division III directional school would settle for. It feels like the result of a committee where no one had any skin in the game. It lacks a valid shortening (I ask every fan to bring a sign saying 'Commies' somewhere on it to the stadium to drive this point home). But far and away the main reason it has to go is that EVERY time I see that lazy stenciled W on a helmet or have to say 'Commanders' in conversation, I am forced to remember Dan. His stink is intrinsically connected to the current brand. It's awfulness, and propensity to irritate means that it constantly reminds me of what a weak name it is - and why do we have it again? Dan "Sexual Predator" Snyder. My fandom survived 24 years with Dan, so I'm not going anywhere if Josh doesn't change the name. But Josh will never 100% this task if the name doesn't change. It will always be the undone task, lurking and staring you in the face. Please, Josh. Change the name. Don't rush it. Pick a good name. Don't avoid a name because it would take a little longer for the lawyers to clear it. But do change it at your earliest convenience.

I don't know why this made me so happy. I knew Jeffrey was a commanders fan fore years, but having him on the show and speaking with so much in-depth knowledge is so incredible. This man has so much historical knowledge of the franchise. He's definitely one of the best representatives of local fans who TRULY LOVE THE TEAM. Matthew McConaughey, Josh Brolin (Thanos), Kevin Durant, Jon Bernthal (The Punisher / Shane from TWD) and Dale Eanrheart Jr are all huge Skins fans too in case anyone didn't know. If we start winning again these games will look like Lakers courtside seats! HTTR!!

As a Washington fan, I'm hoping for a name change as well. The Redskins ship has sailed but I can see them possibly bringing the redskins logo back but with a new name such as the Potomac's (River that runs through DC and also a Native American people). If they don't want to do that, there are plenty of other ones that I would be fine with, but we can't keep commanders

I only got to go to one game at RFK, but it was a wonderful experience! We got great seats given to us, at about the 50 on the visitor's side four rows up. The bouncing during "Hail to the Redskins" after scores is something i'll never forget. That place was amazing.

I'm from Philly and years back I was a Temple student and was in the school's marching band. We went on the road to support Temple when they played against VT. The game was in RFK and I went in I was just amazed at the stadium because it held so much Redskins history and I just soaked it all in. Good stadium man

In the 30 years at RFK stadium, the Redskins won 11 playoff games, including 5 NFC Championships - in the 30 years at Fedex field they won a grand total of ONE playoff game - Watching a Redskins game at RFK was quite the experience, I'm glad I was able to live that experience

He should have won an Emmy for Westworld. Even as the show declined, Jeffrey Wright's acting was always top notch. One of the few actors on that show that was a contender and not just another pretender.

I've been saying for years the name should be "The Washington Natives". I can't figure out why nobody is listening to me on this. It's obviously a brilliant name. You can project either American Indians or early "American" settlers, who referred to themselves as natives, into that name so, in that way it represents diversity but with a shade of competition in it which represents reality. It's a strong name with a picant ambiguity in it which represents the character of the nation's capital. We are all natives in America, ideally, ideologically, and the team representing the nation's capital should encapsulate a national ethos like that. Don't let the fact that I'm just some nobody proposing this blind you to the brilliance of it.
