The presentation of the prototype will be reuploaded soon!
Explaning what I did wrong, why I did it wrong and why it did not matter at all in the End!
Discussion on my Commando Lock Prototype keyway number mistake. I mentioned the wrong number of the keyway and want to correct that mistake now. Even though the person making me aware of this mistake was not sure himself. Brian Morland, a locksmith from the UK and owner of the Antique Locks forum helped me to solve this problem.

Thanks for your comment Patrick! Mistakes happen all the time and I believe that the outcome is most important. In this case everything went alright and you have the right product to offer, your supplier did know what you want and delivered the right product. Sometimes you have to admit a mistake and this time it was my turn! Each and everyone of us learns something new every day.

Hey Eric, thank you very much for that first enthusiastic comment my friend! I am going to continue you can bet on that! The other video will be redone soon. The mistake had to be corrected that is true but in the End it did not matter for the supplier because he delivered the right product :) It does of course matter for the people on YT though, we have to make sure they do not buy the wrong blanks.

Yes Adrian, I live in the US. I can order from Commando with free shipping. But, I don't want the m1 keyway. I have plenty of practice with the m1 so I want to get different keyways when possible. Take care, Rick

I agree with jmmurdy, you speak English better than the majority of Americans. Although not technically correct, I refer to every paracentric keyway that looks remotely similar to a Y1 keyway as a Y1 keyway. Your videos rock! Keep up the great work.

Well executed my friend! Unfortunately none of us are perfect and we sometimes get things wrong. You have done well to calmly address the accusations thrown at you. Keep doing what you do, and enjoy doing it. One day we all will be judged and it will not be by some random stranger on a forum. We all make mistakes. Keep up the great work, Great video!

That was an excellent and well detailed video Adrian. We all may have learned something from this. Thank you for your research and that of Brian Moreland, et al. We are all on the same team here and the smart ones quickly admit their mistakes--which is why I must now shoot myself for starting this mess with my misinformation. These details will be missed by the masses and thankfully debated among the experts. I'm pleased to be here among you all.

Good point but sometimes you also have to admit a mistake, I believe that is very important since most people are not that good with criticism nowadays. Thanks mate!

Thanks my friend! Many locksmiths also refer to the Y1 as long as the shape is similiar just like you said. Feel free to subscribe anytime!

Adrian, I love your videos and information. We all make mistakes, and you do awesome work. BTW, did you ever get that 831 straightened out?

+ganzonomy Hey man, thanks a lot! Do you mean the S&G one? I would have to check, I have the 951 here but I am not sure whether I got the 831 or not. Best wishes, Adrian

+Adrian Weber the 831 was the one that had the really floppy keyway that you were pissed at that it came without any biting. I coulda sworn there was a vid you did about an S&G where you were upset that the cylinder had no pins in it. Saw it a few weeks ago.

Hello Adrian, Is the restrictive keyway available for sale at commando lock? I sent them a message asking if they had it but they didn't respond. I don't want the m1 keyway.

Hey Rick, I have added you to the list of people that I keep posted. As soon as the new version with the Y52 keyway is available I will message you. Hope that helps my friend!

Hey my friend, it is not available yet but will be available soon! I am putting up a order for Europe but I guess you are from the US? I will post it on the ukls forum as soon as they are available.

Adrian.... Seems you have been beating yourself up about some comments mate. Do not as your videos are great and very informative. I know nothing about all the key way shit and numbers.... I just have a bash at picking them as a sporter

You mean you're human and make mistakes like the rest of us? Why, God, why?! LOL Seriously though, some people are just dicks. For what it is worth, the rest of us still love you. ;D Thank you, sincerely, for the information that you share.

Hey Noctis, thanks for your comment even though the video is quite old already it is highly appreciated :) Yes I do believe that everyone makes mistakes ones in a while. Most people sadly ignore that nowadays and pretend to be unfallible. The young generation imitates that behavior and it is getting worse every year. Your friend, Adrian

@@AdrianWeber Yeah, I only started my lock adventures in 2016 so I'm going to be late for almost everything. Still, it is never too late to share a little love and respect. :) If you ever need anything from Australia, you know who you can ask. Stay true, good sir.
