Man the 80s were great for movies. Commando, Rambo, Predator, Rocky 3, Terminator, Conan, Black Rain, Indiana Jones, Cobra, Lethal Weapon, Tango n Cash, 48 Hrs, Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Mad Max 2 Aliens, Escape from New York, Batman, Superman 2 and so many more great movies from that era and what an era it was! 👍
It's funny I was just thinking the very same thing day before yesterday and you are correct! But lately I have heard many songs from that era. Of course I watch a lot of movies to hear them all. At least it's getting better now.
I'm from '93. But I'm just in love with 80's and 90's music and movies. And I'm surprised that so many colleagues from my office have the same opinion.
The 1980's TV shows had some good tunes too. Specially Miami Vice. Not to mention the beginning intro songs (Knight Rider, MacGyver, L.A. LAW, Dallas, ALF, Moonlightning, Midnight Caller, Spenser For Hire, etc, etc...)
Haha I feel the same way. I think of someone flexing thier biceps doing a bicep curl on a family guy or American dad montage to this music like it would make a good joke. Also there aren’t many of these types of uplifting 80’s songs unfortunately. I think there’s one at the end of bloodsport or kick-boxer with Jean Claude can be dam.
@@barrysmith4674 LOL, bro that can't be good for you. That's a cool idea for Halloween though. Like with his face paint and funs and grenades aswell so people realise who your trying to be.
The 80s was a helluva decade, I was 16 thru 26yr old and remember the great movies and music. What a era to have lived thru, I had an absolute blast those 10 great years.
3 thru 13 years old here, and damn I fell privileged that I got to experince that iconic decade and remember it. Commodore 64 8-bit gaming and so much more! 😎
@@doug.navarone2037 yep, not like today's used needles all over, fentanayl express, car jackings, street riots, $hit on the sidewalks, tents all over the place, yeah 2024 is so much better. 🤣
Hector Quevedo it’s a shame we all had to grow up and over the tops all these stupid crazy movies with no good music / OST Take for example TFs M.Bay just fucked it up completely some one should put some sense into his head Hey buddy TFs is bout Cybertron not bout humans
Who knows? There are a lot of odd singles and movie soundtrack songs that don't seem to be in the "legally available for download" realm today. Could be it's because the song isn't on any album, including the original Commando soundtrack. And who owns the rights to the song? Maybe it's the MacGyver co-star who sang lead vocals: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Des_Barres
This song is THE BOMB! ...and it’s extremely rare. Not available through any streaming platforms like Spotify etc. It was not featured on any of the original Power Station albums. Only available on the 2011 (I think it was 2011) reissue double cd version of the first Power Station album.
Actually, you're thinking year 2005. That was the year that Capitol EMI Records released a 30 year anniversary of The Power Station's 1985 debut album with this song included as a bonus track.
I remember when films like this began getting panned lol. The critics never understood that being over the top and silly was the entire point... everything became about complicated plots etc... etc... sometimes a dumb action flick is precisely what the Dr ordered.
All we want is the lead male to be rugged, tough, hard as nails, get the woman and drop absolute 1 liner bangers through the entire film. We don't give a fuck about how Robert pattisons character has emotions and needs support we wanna see a buff dude go on a fucking rampage looking cool as fuck lol
Couldn't agree more. I don't always want to watch a movie with deep themes or massive character development. Sometimes, I want to see a movie where I can check in my brain at the door and just see good guys blowing up bad guys who deserve it. Commando is definitely one of those movies, and I love it. @DDB-91
What a song to cap off a classic 80s action film. Arnie is just awesome. Grew up with his films, and reading these comments of his quotable lines just raises a smile. Love it
It Will come back soon cuz we are going to fight for love...fight for our children, fight for our life...we will fight against the Deep state. We are [ truly] fighting for OUR RIGHT TO LIVE. Agenda 21 no more.. We Will Win. 😎👍
I was thinking about this song the other day at work and had to listen to it... I love it. I love the scene, back home with his daughter, turns down his former boss, ready to enjoy retirement now that his arch enemy has let off some steam. I love this song.
As a kid of the 80's this and raw deal were the two arnie VHS in the house , i repeatedly watched the end credits for this song and id be standing on the sofa singing and bouncing with an air guitar.... i was about 8yrs old :)
Dont forget Conan,Terminator an Predator ..Commando was the shit though, bought the video game for nintendo, had to push mow 3 yards for that shitty game, smh.Classic movie though
"This is the last time" "Until the next time" "No chance..." And then the world explodes due to the incredible amount of badassery accumulated in the atmosphere.
The '80s was unmatched. From sports and movies to music and tech breakthroughs, it was a the best of times as growing up and becoming a teenager surrounded by Dad, uncles and other men who value strength character, self-respect and family honour as life role models.
It s not for all people when we are liking the guitar and This music is best of the music of now where there are often just the rythm without guitar and without piano the best years for me it's 70, 80, 90, 00 but now it's not good not for all the music but for a lot of I know it's not easy for to made the music but it's often it's not enough good it's not good like before
Petar N well said i fight for love too. if someone was kidnapped i really care about. i would do what it takes to get them back. fuck the police they don't do shit. they spend more time behind their desk today.
Jamie mcCallum ever notice a lot of the best films come from the 70's and 80's there so Iconic at the end of the day no modern film can compete with them people from back then and people now get inspiration from films like this and not only the best films but the best songs back then they hired artist to make a song for the movie to represent the point of the movie now they are just lazy and just pick a modern day song or songs from the top ten best hits today rarely they make a song just for the movie
Me too, and I'm an 89 baby man. The first several years of the 90s was straight up 80s. Thankful for living in an area where fads take a tad longer to come and go. Lotta credit to my parents as well. 80s will never die!
Yeessss, this song rocks. I bought the DVD too. I used to have an Arnie action figure from this movie and it was huge, like 20 - 30" tall or so. It was my prized possession for YEARS. I miss that doll.
there was nothing like 80s and 90s action movies and never again will be, they will always be timeless classics with the highly inspirational and motivational music they had
Rob S. Absolutely. Nothing but the truth. I remember the original Rocky films. Hell, the end of this movie + the music makes you feel like a damn hero!
This song is basically John matrix telling how much he loves his daughter and he is going to move mountains to get her back. And that his love for her is what gives him strength and determination.
Watched this as a kid back in the day. Last night I watched it with my 10 year old son. He loved it and loved this song at the end. He's also seem Predator and T2. He's now a huge Arnie fan! There is hope for the future.
I remember seeing this at Square One with 3 buddies when it came out. We were mesmerized by the movie. When the credits rolled we stuck around to hear this tune. It rocked but we had no idea who it was.
@@Mogamishu Square One is a large mall in Mississauga, Ontario Canada. When I was a kid it was the mall to go to. It is now one of those super high malls. I do t even know if there is a theatre there. That was over 30 years ago now. Wow.
Square One! GTA born and raised here too. I lived in Markham so our local threatre was The Promenade, but in the late 90s my brother and I used to go to Playdium when it was at Square One.
Angel of the City? No easy way out? Heart's on fire? If all you listen to is Eye of the Tiger, which by the way everyone knows about, then you don't know 80's action movie music.
