Thank you for this video. Truly helped me out. Save the company $$$$ I appreciate your detail explanation of each step you took to correct the issue at hand.
Thank you. We have toilet that the spud popped out of. No one knew what to do but a little hunt and bam. Now I know what happened, what the parts are called. When I go back I can take a look to see if we can handle it in house or if we need to call a plumber and give them an accurate description. I'll have to go through your other videos for my own education Rock on my man.
An update for your amusement. The second toilet in the same room started eternally flushing before I could check out the first. We're calling a plumber. Many thanks because now I could explain why it would be too much to handle inhouse, and we should have all the unita serviced. But more importantly I knew how to cut off an individual water supply so we could stay open. I admit that knowledge is bittersweet cause now I have to finish the shift. Thanks again.
Very informative. However I seen one thing I teach all my tech different from your video. All plumbing fitting are tapered. Sealing tape (Teflon tape) does not make the leakproff seal. It keeps two metals from galgen each other. This is called Spalding. It's the tapered threads that make their seal. Two conpleat raps is all you need. Tighten till tight. Look at a pipe nipple..you will see as how deep the threads are to start of the pipe and how it tapers at the end of the threads. Less and less.
I have two Kohler k-13517-cp about 3 years before. One of them, I have experienced history of problems, leaking (Kohler giving replacement parts), then un-reliable flushing continually, now it is no flush at all. I gave up a beautiful but non-working toilet. The other is similar but somehow working. Where is traditional Kohler quality? I am disappointing.
Sorry to hear that. I feel you on that one. We have a few at work, I hat working on them very tricky. its always a hit and miss. Yes they look nice, but thats it.
