This is a quick video of the proper techniques for installing commercial window film by James Denton of American Standard Window Films. Sorry about the lighting.
Thanks for sharing , I've been window tinting for a fair while now and never seen anyone release the liner that way such a fantastic technique thank you
Excellent tips and funny tutorial. I like the part when you bite the film, lol. I was wondering if you have any tool on your professional belt pouches. You look like a police with the gun and accessories on the belt. Also, was funny the tripod movement, I think needs a WD-40, lol
Hello, I have watched about five videos on installing window film and it looked like you peeled the clear backing off from your side/away from the window?? Which makes it look really easy but everyone else says the adhesive side (the side the clear pulls away from) goes against the window? Does it matter? Thank you for your video.
He first separated the liner then wet the roll so the liner would stick to the roll when the films gets unrolled the liner gets removed and is actually being transferred simultaneously to the opposite side of the film, the non sticky side. So it looks like he is removing the liner once the film is on the glass when actually the liner is already removed from the glue side so it’s just clinging to the non sticky side so he just discards it. The sticky side or glue side goes on the glass so you’re correct.
That streaky appearance is part of the curing / drying process. After application there is a thin layer of water left under the film that needs to dry out via evaporation. Just leave it alone and it'll be all dry in 3 - 7 days.
Amigó: Me gustaría un vídeo de cómo se ven cada ventana con los diferentes colores y sus nombres del papel ahumado desde el exterior e interior. Para los que no conocemos de los nombre del papel principalmente el del estilo espejo de un solo lado.
What solution do you spray ? Water ? Thank to share I heard there are three levels of light , medium and dark . For business window, should be light? Thank
You can either precut your panes exactly with a film handler, or you could master the art of freehand cutting and not cut a bondo to guide you, or the glass could be tinted before installed in the frames.
@@Jcr8519 At approx. 2:26 you said you wet the film. Did you measure the piece you need, wet the liner side, and then roll it back up? Then you have a rolled up piece of wet window film? You said yo wet it so it will stick to the back of the window film? I don't understand what you meant when you said that..
@@igormaric7866 he used a technique that meant as he dropped the roll, and it made that lovely sound, the release liner was actually removing its self and switching to the other side of the film. Next level move!
Mark Kruger I don’t disagree, and I have also tested and failed to replicate his technique. But at the 3min mark he is peeling back the film, so we know it is a standard film, then he drops the roll in one action, and then he removes the clear backing liner that is sitting towards the bottom of the window, in front of the film. At no point does he stick his arm behind and peel it back, or flip it over and remove it, then flip it back. I will work it out, and will report back :-)
AT 2:26 you said you wet it. What did you wet? Did you pre measure the film, spray the front... or back, and then roll it back up? That sounds like a pretty important step we've missed.
Pattern way too big. Never press up… gravity works. Never press all the way to the edge when film is not trimmed…. Really? Card trimming? What are we? Rookies? psh smh
So quick question. I’m going to adapt the window tint on cars and commercial windows to my Auto Detail business what are the best films for commercial flat windows. I’m located here in CA San Diego. Would be great if I get a response. What size is the film you use
Best residential/ commercial film is Johson window film in my opinion and many others. For automotive best film gots to be solar fx in my opinion and many others as well! Theres many great film companies out there. As long as they are life time warranty films and has good customer service its good to go!
It'll look like a mirror from the outside, that is until night time when its lighter inside than out and then the effect reverses, people will see in but from the inside you are looking at a wall of mirrors
Nice well done video but No to cheap, low end Silver mirror film, & no to cheap low balling cutt throat pricing, it has killed the industry & my business !
The problem I've been having is the trimming. I'll try this knife card technique. Lately I've been cutting or. Ripping off a corner because of the two ends splitting from razor
that's because you are probably leaving way too much excess film on the edges when you cut it, try to leave just about one inch not more than that, it help with trimming at the end and your film dosent rip on the corners. more crease to deal with in the corners more chances to rip them out.
12-inch squeegee, credit card, Auto store Blue shop towels, spray bottle with a little bit of dish soap and water, make sure you soak the window and the back of the film pretty good before you lay it all the window it'll help position it better, you're going to have to get all the air bubbles out. He made it look easy, but you're going to have to go over it a few more times to get all the air bubbles out before it actually dries.
