Bro this happens so often and its so tilting, i have to constantly ping and remind my team in chat that i'm base and to not force fights, its like taking care of toddlers lmao
It can sometimes feel like that! But you being aware and having the precense of mind is like your team playing with cheats on when you ping them in those cases, they might still die but at least you pinged. Also remember though, someone's rank is the average of a lot of different skillsets relevant to the game. So you might be better at this specific skillset than the average player in your rank, but you're still in the same rank as them, because there's something else or many other skillsets that they are better at than you, meaning your skillsets average out at roughly the same rank. This perspective is important because it keeps you humble and more open minded, if you view your team which is the same rank as you as below you, it can hinder you from taking responsibility and improving yourself. I talk about this here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0E8IujTAuAI.htmlsi=0EKIIb5CdONgWSlc&t=56
@BadiehWoTBlitzMore Tilt almost always comes from a failure of managing expectations. Your frustration stems from an expectation of being able to control stuff you can't. You can potentially influence people's decisions with pings but you ultimately can't contol their champion nor can you be everywhere at the same time. All of your mental energy should be put in the situations that you can control and everything else should be ignored. Focus on the signal, block out the noise.
@@CoachSorest Wow you put that very well, I agree with you. The only thing I get angry at is when my wifi is terrible and I can't play the game properly even though its fully out of my control and when my teammates do obvious dumb plays and then somehow through mental gymnastics blame another teammate or me for their mistake which makes no sense... I assume you would say to just mute that person and carry on playing as you would and doing your best to win, thanks for your advice!
Another reason is laziness. The enemy team thinks they've already won. So they make "for fun" plays. Everyone in high emerald understands numbers (ie 4v5 dont walk up. Wait eve). They just get lazy thinking you guys have already given up
Bold assumption to say everyone. Most games in emerald players think they can win 4 v 5 or 3 v 5 if they have baron. Its such a shit show when players gets baron buff they think they are invincible, they dont know how to use baron and end games.
Agreed, this happens a lot. I had a coach look at my vod ages ago about mid game tempo and how wasting tempo is not worth for inhibs and its either punished through getting caught on the back end or just losing tempo and then map control.
Looking at the game state they might be exhausted from throwing the game back n forth. It is definitely one of the most frustrating thing ever but the annoying part is that this happens in Emerald instead of silver
People don't understand what games in certain elos actually look like. Mistakes aren't reserved to a silver player. In isolation most mistakes are basic and people can understand them. But when they play on their own and their mental stack is full they'll make the same mistake, don't underestimate the difficulty of the game.
My favourite game i will always remember was when i took toplane inhib and nexus tower as yorick at minute 22 because none of the enemy team came to help their toplaner. in a matter of minutes my team managed to give the enemy team over 10 kills by trying to "sneak" in from toplane always alone just to run into 4 of them waiting there.
@@CoachSorest I started to play this game basically from season 1 but now I just come back briefly each year. The poor quality of hitboxes is the reason I can't spend much time in this game. I can mute chat and pings not to witness the toxicity but I can't do anything about those skillshots. I had skill shots that hit and went through an enemy and it was considered a miss. Yet enemies hit skill shots that clearly missed. It's pure frustration.
@@galanonim9919 No you haven't, that's a lie. Show me one replay. If it ever happens it is extremely rare, so rare that I have pretty much not seen it ever during my 12 years of playing the game. If it was such a big problem the esport scene wouldn't be this established.
@@CoachSorest there you go again with literally false informations. No, its from silver 2 to diamond 4. How can you know this? well perhaps looking at their profiles MIGHT help. Mainly g4 people are in emerald 4 at the moment, check for yourself but considering your ego is of a vayne top laner i doubt you will.
@@setajucizbun7073 That’s not how that works. You have to look at the rank distribution percentages to get an accurate comparison. Top 15% will remain top 15% regardless of what rank label is put.
Many people misunderstand the point of the video. They're like: "Oh yeah I agree my team always make this mistake so unlucky nothing I can do..." But you forget the enemy team are also making the same mistake and if you're emerald, likely you as well. So the point is, hey if we don't make this mistake consistently, attempt to guide our team to avoid making this mistake, then over a sufficient sample of games we'll set ourselves apart from other emerald players and climb as a result.
Disagree, pings are more than enough. Also, if you consistently don't tunnel vision like this it's all you need to worry about in the long term to climb. You're never held back by others doing this in the long term.
Worst idea, my friend and i already put a discord link for duoQ for people to join, it doesn't change anything to game issue and some of them are toxic and screaming.
The problem is that when they do that, you can't control their brains to stop to make them int 100x in a row, when i play mid its so frustrating to spam ping and watch them die 1 per 1, i finally got my accounts diamond but emerald is one of the worst elo, seriously 1 game out of 2 is unplayable
I'm E1 86 LP, and I won a game recently that I should have lost, (I messed up early game), because the enemy team refused to concentrate their strength at one point on the map. Me and Shaco caught their terrifying Jinx past river in midlane, she was completely alone. I'm talking a 15/2 Jinx, full build going for a stroll down midlane by herself. My 'I am a fragile marksman who is alone. DANGER DANGER' alarm would be going off if I did that...
I'm still E1, just made the same mistake the Jinx made. We won the game, but I had to laugh. It happened after the team was wiped at a fight I wasn't present at, and I was upset / distracted by them dying without me.@@CoachSorest
@@CoachSorest I know it makes sense what you're saying, but I've just been extremely unlucky or something lately. Made it to Master on one account and then stuck in Emerald IV somehow on the other no matter what I do
@@gen.tucker6024 Perhaps there’s some peak rank attachment there hindering you. I could easily take that emerald acc to master in just a few days, it’s never something spooky with an account.
this was probably at 2 am. these 2 am EUW games are bat shit crazy stupid. tilting af how they play. its like my team is running away from me at all cost. as soon as i reach them they recall
It wasn't, this level of play is not a rare occurrence in this rating range. The point of this video is to highlight this, so if you can consistently avoid making this mistake then you'll set yourself apart from the players at this range. What your team is and isn't doing will cancel itself out, although you can sometimes help positively influence their decisions by doing the mental gymnastics for them.
ngl i had games like this to and then just decided to split push not listin to my team and solo win the game while they where distracted fighting for dragon they only recalled when i was already hitting the nexus lmao Tunnel vision and ego Pride loses so many games
3:38 They are there to block the entrance of the jungle to the enemy team, so they won't set up vision/ be able to contest the objective. Nami's position is questionable, but she is prob on autopilot. 5:29 Nami again does the same thing by going solo to grant vision in the enemy jg/ deny vision. I would say it is primarily Nami's' fault for baiting those bad fights
There's nothing to block if you die to what you try to block. Even if Nami is caught initially, Riven and Irelia both make the mistake of trying to help in both cases, making them just as involved in those bad fights as Nami. The fact that they both take those fights tells me they're just as capable of being the first one getting caught as well.
eh still because nami is an animal, you are left with two options a) Coinflip a 4v5 for objective b) Stall and wait for nami to respawn, and lose inhibitor advantage.@@CoachSorest
@@SenpaimustNotice Both options are better than suiciding and giving the objective. But those aren't the only options, you can split push, you can ping Nami back, you can sweep and look for picks, given that they were so far ahead I would argue 4v5 was straight up winning for them as well. But you'd be surprised how different the game can look if you make smart decisions, perhaps Nami won't overextend without Riven and Irelia being in close proximity as an example. E.g if Evelyn don't go for kills in the first situation and play around baron instead, waiting for riven to spawn, enemy team just straight up cruise to an easy win imo.
No you can't, that's not how matchmaking works. Just because you're emerald 4 doesn't mean you'll be matched vs emerald players from all divisions, you're just matched based on your MMR like you always have been, nothing ever changed.
@@CoachSorest Yes you can, and this isn't about MMR, it is about player distribution. It was clearly explained that in Emerald 4 you can find Old System Gold 1, in Emerald 3 and 2 you can find Old System Plats, and in Emerald 1 you can find Old Diamond 4.
@@tinky3110 Sure, emerald is old gold 1 to old diamond 4, it's wide rank. But that doesn't mean you have gold 1 players playing with diamond 4 players just because they're both emerald.
That's because low ranks only care about figthing. Catching someone off guard in jungle is more satisfying to them than playing with their team and getting objectives. And that's ok I guess they just play the game for fun. I don't understand how someone like this can be in emerald though. The rank system is just broken af
Yeah that's a common trend, the lower you go the more people just gravitate towards fights for dopamine. Like team death match, has always been the case. But just because you can't understand the nuances of why these players are in emerald doesn't mean the rank system is broken, remember that.
That is Emerald? In most of my Games the Team runs as a whole 5 stack. The part running totally dumb in a fight after one team mate is caught, that is true though 😂
You need to make sure YOU avoid making this mistake and over a large number of games you'll set yourself apart from other emerald players. I see so many in the comments missing this. There's this constant focus on teammates instead of oneself. You're the only consistent variable in all of your games.
bro im plat 4 and i dont do this mistake since i was silver. but im tired af from this ranked system, i have to win 100 games to get to emerald, which means i have to play like 200 games
Perhaps if you have a 51% winrate barley winning more than you lose against plat players, which in that case makes sense that you remain in plat because the closer to 50% winrate you have the closer to your true skill level you're at. I for example could jump onto your plat account and have it be emerald in 2 days max. No boasting just want to highlight that it's about getting better, improving and not feeling entitled to a rank.
@@CoachSorest well i just opened league and checked statistics. im otp aatrox and i have 57% wr on toplane this season. i also have 70% wr in the last 10 games on aatrox only. i have a 100% wr on mid, but its only autofill and 73% on botlane (i played it less). overall i have 58% ranked wr, but im bored and dont play ranked anymore p.s. all i stated was ranked only statistic
@@CoachSorest i mean im sure you can boost me if you play as me using better fundamentals etc, but it also depends on the amount of games you will play for these 2 days. i have like 103 games in solo q rn and this season
You can try to ping to positively influence them, but ultimately the point of the video is, you need to make sure **you** avoid making this mistake and over a certain number of games you'll set yourself apart from other emerald players, this applies to any skill in the game.
No because Corki is spawning, he can easily clear the wave and hold her. Let's pretend Corki death timer was much longer, imo Thresh should still go to Baron and potentially recall if he sees Riven commiting to mid push.
right but how does it help person who isnt a monkey and knows this, what do you do when your team goes like monkeys rambo mode and your pings are probably muted by them anyways so you can spam ping and it doesnt help, is there any advice to that? or am i wishful thinker
You just have to not make this mistake consistently, that's literally what separates player's skill levels. You're the only common denominator in your games. In the grand scheme, don't worry about people making the mistake. In the game though, I will of course try to impact my team as much as possible to avoid making the mistake while at the same time punishing the enemy team for making it. Make it easy for your team to play, make it hard for enemy team to play. For example, take literally any player on the enemy team, had they not made this mistake the game would've been different. Let's say Evelynn goes to baron setting up vision instead of baiting her team into the base, enemy team probably win. Or Riven leaving Nami to die at drake and baron, perhaps Nami wouldn't even have been that far up had Riven walked far back in the first place. Or had Camille (me) gone to Thresh trying to kill Riven instead of baron we probably lose the game as we won't have time to take baron. It's important to understand how you contribute to situations and the direction of the game state. Often times smurfs win the game so early that they don't even give an opportunity for their team to make mistakes or they make up for them. That's why you shouldn't obsess over mid-late situations you perhaps shouldn't even be in had you played better in the first place.
No she wasn't free, infact that decision alone would likely have lost us the game. Killing her requires a time investment that could risk us not being able to take baron before the enemy team respawned. Meaning not only do we not get baron, we instead gift it to the enemy. That risk-reward equation is not worth it at all. If you live with your dog and your house is on fire, you're on a timer to get the hell out of there. You have time to get your dog and escape before dying. Yeah it would be nice to also get your phone and then get your dog, but jeopardising you and your dog's life for the chance of maybe saving your phone is obviously not worth it.
Emerald elo is fucked. You have too much differences between players. MMR isn't accurate enough for this elo and the level difference from a game to another can be huge, and also the level disparity between players.
This is not true. It's a misconception because the rank labels a wide skill range, but it doesn't change the fact that your MMR works the same for every elo.
yep emerald 4, fighting without members, then pinging them when they r losing fights xDDDDDDDDDD nooooooo shiiiiiiii to many people fail to realize its a team game :p
No the mmr system is not stupid, it's very accurate. These are high emerald players and would crush bronze mmr games with ease. It's important I say that because having that false belief of the mmr system being inaccurate will hold you back a lot. When I pause and highlight the mistakes that are being made many people can understand. But in the heat of the moment when playing the game it's a completely different story, I see this in my coaching sessions all the time. You need to have a deep respect for how difficult the game is and how different it is to pause and understand the theory compared to applying it consistently when playing in the heat of the moment.
Holy cow, these players are so bad that it feels like I'm watching Iron gameplay. Enemy Silver players almost never tunnel vision when it comes to lategame macro. They always use their leads to secure free barons and dragons - it irks me just how good their teamplay is.
Not completely no. In the first example especially Eve but also Irelia and Nami contribute to the situation by moving forward instead of setting up baron, this causes Samira to move towards the fight in an autopiloted manner, allowing her to make that mistake. In the other examples Nami, Riven are too far up for no reason getting caught, causing others to compensate for their mistake.
@@CoachSorest their team had way more than enough strength to win anyways but in your entire video the only thing samira does was dying at the same place same way without even dealing any damage. Irelia and Evelynn were horrible decision makers too but they atleast try to get some kills and evelynn actually get. Its %100 completely samira’s fault
@@alperaksoy1062 No, it isn't. She definitely blundered twice but one needs to see how Evelynn and the rest contributes to the situation. A challenger Eve or irelia player, would first of all potentially play mechanically better making up for Samira's mistake, but secondly they would likely not chase for kills in the enemy base in the first place and would instead try to rally the team around baron waiting for Riven to respawn, knowing that they win 5v5. This would mean Samira wouldn't move to the fight like a moth to a flame in the first place. They pick up baron and the game is very easy to execute and close out from there. A good player reviews this situation and they see how they contributed to the situation, if they go baron here Samira very likely wouldn't run and die mid but even if she decided to run it down mid inting on repeat, enemy team could still win because they went baron. See how making a higher quality decision not only decreases the chances that someone makes a mistake but it also creates more room for people to actually make mistakes without having it cost you the game.
Emerald is full of emerald players and the video highlights a common macro mistake I see in higher emerald. The point of my video is not to shit on emerald players, if you're emerald, especially high emerald you're pretty damn good at the game relatively speaking.
@@CoachSorest currrent emerald are just ex high silvers and golds for the most part, you should check most emeralds players rank in season 2022 and 2021 thne u will understand
@@CoachSorest my point is emerald and new ranking system is hugely inflated so there is no surprise they make such bronze macro mistake and are clueless
@@grizius4123 First of all, a ranked system can never be "inflated" in itself. Skill is relative. It's a meritocracy and naturally orders itself. So second of all, even though it doesn't matter, emerald isn't even inflated comparing to previous seasons, looking at current data it ranges from top 16% to top 6% which is almost exactly the same range as old plat 4 to plat 1 (June 2023 right before emerald was added source: www.esportstales.com/league-of-legends/rank-distribution-percentage-of-players-by-tier) "But look at people's rank 2021 2022, they were like gold silver", lol people improve? Emerald is worst division ever created. I swear to God..gold is the best and the hardest. Plat suck. Emerald worst..like so many dumb and bad players. Diamond is also trash. Haven't been Master yet, but soon i will be insAllah.
there's unironically no way you actually think stopping baron is the play when they're all coming from base and time is of the essence. Link opgg troll
