@@darkbluebossa Thank you for identifying the sample; I went and looked up the lyrics of the original in translation and it's even more amazing to see the synergy between Ivan's original lyrics for the song and Common's verses over Pete Rock's beat of it. Makes listening to this track even more amazing!!
This hip-hop music keeps getting better and stronger to underestimate and conquer. Shout out to all the MCs, who made hip-hop, an enjoyable moment to live it. All the beats, drums, piano, whistle, and trumpets. Pete Rock and common, one of the greatest rappers of all time.
kind iof harsh his beats were always inspiring. this is just on another level where I feel he feels very very comftable with his GOD given talent to the point its now effortless
I’m loving Common & Pete Rock together making some real hip hop that we ol’ schoolers can listen to without shaking our heads but bobbing our heads to the beat. Thank you 🙏🏾.
@@T2Judgementday-yb2jz You say that but he's going to sell/stream more than all the Nas/Hit albums combined by the end of the month. WE might not care but clearly a lot of people do.
It's funny, all the comments saying real hip-hop is back because of this album. As much as I respect and appreciate these two legends right here, hip-hop has been going strong, it never stopped. It just takes more effort to find the underground cats that are constantly making joints and albums.
Absolutely not ONE use of profanity. Not ONE use of misogynistic language. Not ONE reference of gun, violence, or drugs. Hip-hop at its finest.!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
So since GZA or Nas use profanity in their music, are they bad MC's? I swear I hate when people say that stoopid shit. Like hip-hop is bad because it contains language that you hear in the street every damn day (and Hip-Hop is street music). So what if he didn't use any profanity in this song. Common has and continues to use profanity in other songs. So Is he a bad MC now too?
This collaboration has been needed to have happened. Feel fortunate to be hearing one of my favorite MC with my absolute favorite producer. Blessed be and thank you; can't wait to hear the album; thank y'all again.
