In todays video I decided to compile a list of common questions that new snake keepers or soon to be snake keepers ask. *Most of the information here is for GENERAL care & wellbeing of your pet snake. For more in depth care guides on your specific snake species feel free to check out my previous videos or the millions of other videos on youtube that will teach you the specifics on each breed of snake.
The topics I cover range from heating your snakes enclosure to the shedding process and more. I tried to cover & answer a multitude of basic questions that ive seen about snake care that beginner snake keepers ask.

@@julien9635 its going great my baby is gaining weight every week. I got a tip for you if you're snakes eyes become blue it means that it's about too shed, what you need to do is raise the humidity in the enclosure it makes it so its easier for the snake to shed and it would come off in one peace

So I think I'm going to start out with a 20 gallon long tank when I get my snake. However, I am going to get a tank divider to make it smaller, and then I can keep moving the divider to give him more room as he grows.

I just got my corn snake this Wednesday, he is a juvenile and I'm curious is it normal for him to hide allot since I just got him and how much time until I should be concerned that I'm doing something wrong

that sounds like completely normal behaviour for a juvenile! expect your corn snake to be hiding 90% of the time if the lights are on, your snake will mostly be out at night when you are not able to see/ look at your snake. dont worry! Im sure you are taking good care of your snake. as long as he is eating each week and not refusing food you have nothing to worry about

Where do you get corn snakes. I only see them in petco and petsmart and I heard it is not good to get them form there.

You are correct, its never good to buy a snake from big chain stores because they treat them like garbage from supplier up until they sell them to the customer. If you live in the USA there are SO MANY ways to get snakes its unbelievable. You can order online from hundreds of websites, or if you prefer to shop somewhere local you can search around for local breeders that specialize in snakes or just corn snakes. Here in Canada its really expensive and uncommon to ship live animals so I get my snakes from local breeders, reptile shows, craigslist, kijiji, etc. You can also buy snakes from reptile specialty stores since they usually have better care than petco & petsmart

@@ThatsSoReptii I live in the USA but, the shipping rates here are absolutely crazy. The shipping is more expensive than the snake. I live in a small suburb so there are not many reptile stores. THere are some in the neighboring cities though so.

@@dofutofu3720 Yeah I totally agree with you! Where I live even though its a big city shipping live reptiles is a minimum of 150$! But just taking a look at google maps will be your best bet at finding the closest reptile store to you

Thats why I make these videos because when I first started keeping reptiles a little over 6 years ago it was hard for me to find answers to my questions, and finding easy to follow & proper information on keeping reptiles as pets was near impossible to find. Now its much different with many reptile channels out there but as long as im able to help even just one person im happy haha. Im working on upgrading 2 of my snakes enclosures and ill have a video out showing the new setups & explaining why I stopped posting for a such a long time.
