I committed the ultimate sin in Inquisition: I left my Hawke in the Fade with Stroud as the Warden. Not because I have anything against Hawke, but because I was playing it out the way my Inquisitor, who has no real personal connection with Hawke, would: Stroud is an important member of the Grey Wardens and will be needed to fix the Order. Whereas Hawke is… Hawke.

I can't wait for fall :) I'm worried for Varric too but I have the feeling that he's not gonna die but he will be injured enough to not be able to fight with us. And yeah, I get a Mass Effect 2 feeling for the "companion dying" part depending on your choice and your relationship with them. And for ME2, if you want to experiment real heartbreak, i recommend the Risky suicide mission mod when even if you do everything right you can lose people (still haven't been able to save everyone with that mod XD) The discussion about Kieran and his old god soul was super interesting, only thing that i could see preventing that is the fact that there are some world state where he doesn't exist. That's also why I'd be surprise if we ever get to see the HoF in an important quest again because the HoF can die in DA:O even if I would love to see my Aeducan or Cousland again Love your covering of Dragon age and your enthousiasm/positivity =^.^= It's a great time to be a DA fan !

I am having issues where , even though I have played DAI all the parts are hidden and I cannot find a way to open them up.😢

I remember playing Mass Effect 2 and romancing Jack; and on the suicide mission I took her with me to keep her alive; and I think I had Miranda do the Bionic Bubble; and then suddenly at the end I had to watch Jack get swarmed and die right in front of me… I was stunned and dumbfounded…

You mention a Larian BioWare baby… but Wizards of the Coast do own Archtype; who is making Exodus and apparently have designers who worked at BioWare…

Im SO happy that my people are coming out of the woodwork to get excited for DA!! I'm a manager at my work and at our last group meeting i was like, "Who's excited for DA4?!" And like, one person wooped. Not my people lol.

Pretty sure the two corrupted gods that come through the veil are the two statues that broke. The third statue didn't break, so that one didn't come through. (Side-note: ahhhh! Can't wait to play and see where the story goes!)

If anything, I fear it may be Alistair/Loghain/Hero of Ferelden who will depart (provided they survived the choices made in Origins). According to a timeline that was posted online, it's been approximately 22 years from the start of Origins to the beginning of Veilguard. And unless a cure for the Calling has been found (maybe we'll find out in Veilguard?), the Grey Warden in Origins would be about the age when the Calling becomes too strong to ignore and they head off into the Deep Roads for the last time.

Omg finally an actual dragon age fan that remembers the old games right. I have no idea why so many anti woke bros have latched themselves onto veil guard or bioware games in general, their games have always been progressive they’re barking up the wrong tree on this one.

everyone seems convinced varric will die but honestly i think he fulfills the role of your advisor. i think breaking bianca is our giveaway that he's retiring from the field because he's also said on multiple occasions, in game and in supplementary material, that he's gotta stop getting involved in wars and also has the history and ability to be a spymaster (though not as good as leilana, as far as he's concerned). i really don't think they'd kill varric because they're largely not interested in killing off former game characters unless the pc does so themselves (and think abt how leilana can die in origins but they found a way to still have her in inquisition). but again, i DO think he's completely out of the field and quite possibly seriously injured and/or disabled. also bianca if i catch you sniffing around i will personally deliver you to the merchant's guild myself

Ive been saying that for ages! Flemeth put Mythal in the eluvian and let Solas take Urthemiel! That's why she says to him 'im sorry as well old friend' cuz she knows he came for Mythal!

The fact that some people are saying "dragon age has gotten too woke" because there is trans representation and gender neutrality and getting mad about it is ridiculous and laughable! It's a fantasy rpg! So we can have races with horns elf ears but god forbid they are non-binary ? It also tells me you haven't read the books or payed attention to the dragon age games as series they've always have some from of representation with sexuality in the games. If you don't want to be or create a non-binary character that's your choice but complaining about other people having that choice in a fantasy role playing game is really weird! The game looks so cool and I for one and very excited to play it. (Oh and if they kill off Varric I will riot either way)

So this game is all about regret. I would be heartbroken, but Varric's death would make sense if it ends up being Harding's big regret.

jesus I'm going to have to give myself a crash course in modding. I just CANNOT with Lukanis and Emmerick's character models. They're so... WoW Pandaria. 🤢 I don't think I'll ever understand why they made them so Fortnite/WoW/Overwatch when all the other characters are almost realistic. It's a bizarre artistic decision and I'm NOT here for it. I AM curious about the "Dragon Effect" combat mechanics though. Looking forward to trying that out. Not my favourite choice, but I think it'll be familiar enough to enjoy it once I'm used to it.

You can most certainly cause a few deaths, Zeveran, hawks siblings, leliana though the maker will bring her back, sten, and two more I’m forgetting but I think it may be anders and someone else. My point is what your title is is false, companions have died

I doubt he will , just in their vein hope that they might get a sequel . But does it really matter? The game is clearly going to be a clear let down.

I meant it's impossible for it to be Mythal. Mythal has died. She was in Flemeth, every one of them. Solas absorbed Mythal, as revenge is theirs to fullfill. I am more in Andruil/Ghilan'nain - so Goddess of Hunting and Goddess of Halla's. I do not believe dragons and Elven Gods are same. More akin dragons were somehow related safety measure of imprisoned gods instead. Something like infusing a living animal with some god essence to transform it into a mighty beast that is sentient. And over time these sentient beings realized in order to be whole again - as they would be tied to imprisoned gods - they need to become tainted. We already know Andruil went mad from Red Lyrium in deep past. We also know gods of elves commited heinous acts. Golden City was tainted before Corypheus even reached it with others. Like Ghilan'nain has created absolute horrid beasts that roamed the land. I hope Morrigan is done. Her plot completely resolved. There is not much mystery with her. Flemeth took soul of Urthemiel. What I would want is Dragon Age II cast being more prominent. We deal with areas way more closer to Free Marches then Ferelden. Inquisition breaks were norm, because gameplay was just too bland. It was big empty maps with nothing but fetchquests. Akin to FFXIV ARR. The game where I couldn't in DA put game down, was DA II. So to me this new Dragon Age sounds more like return to smaller scale story focused game that DA II was. Which is good. I would not compare it to ME 2 as ME 2 suffered a bloat of cast where there was too little content for too big cast. In DA II everyone, Varric and Aveline I believe aside, can die. You certainly can sell Isabella out to Qunari in Act II or she runs away or stays with you. You can kill Fenris, Anders, Merrill and your own sibling be it Bethany or Carver. In Origins you also had Murder Knife a plenty, with resistant being Morrigan and Allistair. I am kind of convinced Fenris would end up being in DA 4. Solas was said to free slaves for months in Tevinter if not years, and we know Fenris has been doing that if not with Hawke for years by that point. Furthermore this blasted comic they put out is sadly probably canon, which was a mistake.

Killing a charecter is fine. Killing a charecter in the first half of the game to bank off the emotions built up in previous games is cheap at best. If they do this, they better do it well. Or im out, and i bet a lot of others are too.

Also never mind the woke stuff that people are going on about i do not care a shit about of that. The problem i have with this "game " is the obvious from the bat lack of continuity from the other game/s . Don't fool yourselves rose colored glasses peoples DAI was crap , DA 2 was crap but those 2 did have continuity . This game seems like not even like an rpg.
