the very first truck I drove after getting a legal was a 90 KW...Im laughing at his wanna be self as well...he should try driving one of those OLD cab over Corn Binders as my uncle did back in the 70's...
@@privatename1184 ive got an old friegthliner cabover these new truck sre nice at least his ass is cumfy at the end of the day not such a rough ride like the cabovers
A lost art my friend. I drove a few when I started. No one taught me I figured it out. I was never as good as some of these older guys are, but then that's all they had when hey started. I had a Allison auto in a 73 Diamond Reo. hated them then hate them now. My last job was changing over to all auto Just as I decided to retire. Shifting properly is a skill, another trucker skill going to be lost to the new gen of drivers.( notice I said drivers ¬ truckers,, there is a difference) anyway, stay safe & upright out there & thanks for trucking during this pandemic, Wish I was out there doing my job again to help out, but I give my thanks & support everyone
@@ironlung7176 i was born in the back of one im 23 but been driving for years started with my dad before he left then here on the farm i love the 379 359 petes and w900a kws
@@nasheemwhye5197 If you got that kind of mileage out of a DD15 you did very good. I had 2 of them and by 800,000 they were too costly to keep. I'll stick with the Cummins
That's a penske rental. They sell them at 500k or 5 years. Whatever comes first unless it's an International then sold before warrant wears out. Usually 3 years. Those trucks have their own issues. Many windscreens leak causing the sam cab modules to short which is located under the glove box. Being a multiplexed truck isn't old school. Freightliner been doing it old a few years unlike international where they are much more versed in it. Newer Cascadias are a single sam unit now.
@Paradoxical Nightmare Apparently you didn't grasp the logic behind my comment. Maybe it is because you can't carry on a conversation that doesn't include foul language.
The very first thing i ever drove with a clutch pedal 40 years ago was a pos ford twin stick.the only option it had was a am radio with one speaker.trucks have came a long way sence then.
Paradoxical Nightmare little baby, get out from mammas skirt & join the real world!!! You pussy millennials can’t handle real work!! You can’t even read a map, you think everything should be handed to you or GPS!!! We are in a time right now that is showing how stupid you millennials truly are!!!! One last thing you SJW POS, back in the old days, we didn’t have the shit going on that is going on right now!!! So moving forward is only getting worse!!!
They're all fleet trucks, pays the same. Finish your truck , lease it on, then you can fix it up the way you want, and drive the same truck all the time. Set it wide open and get that $ : )
Oh I feel so sorry for you having to drive that 70,000 mile tractor. My first tractor was a 68 Diamond Reo single axle cabover with 950,000 0n the clock. The optional equipment was a spring ride seat, and a heater. You guys are so spoiled now it's pathetic. LOL
Sounds right if it’s on the original engine and feels like 300hp it must be on its last leg. If that truck didn’t have an APU it would have been dead a long while ago.
@@caseykennedy9434 I agree. When you keep calling a truck that's a few years old "old school" I write you off. It's a 2016 which means it was probably delivered in 2017 and it's now the first month of 2020 and he called it 5 years old. He can't even count. He's a goof. That's a beautiful truck, especially for a rookie.
MrDave 777 Right? Lol. My grandfather had a 1975 Autocar, and that’s a relic. Now he has some a International Paystar from 2005! Lol. Those trucks are old school
I think that when he was calling it “old” he meant in terms of use. If it only feels like 300 hp out of however much it originally had then it must be on its last leg.
Old school when I started out driving for Stevens van lines we had a 1985 kw w900 I was born and in 1985 and you know what I wound up falling in love with that truck
It said the next service is due at 701.000 miles, which means it hasn't driven 701.000 miles yet 🤦♀️and it even said when it expected to reach the 701.000 miles (At 04/26 2020). I think you misunderstood what the note said.
From Saudia Arabia I like your filming & I am with the people who said film when you putting gas . Also don’t know why I like it I think good luck & thank you
3:30 A 12v outlet not working is usually just a fuse. Could have been easier to locate the fuse location and see if it is popped. Rather than spend $20+ at walmart going around it.
If you dont want to get a traditional education try diesel tech training first. Then when you complete that go for trucking if its still something you really want to do. You'll be old enough to get sponsored cdl training from whoever wants to employ you and you'll have another skill to fall back on.
T18 I turned 21 last month I hate school so I got me a car manufacturer job and I learn how to operate forklift, standup lifts, and tugger so now I do have certification for that! But I start trucking on the 2nd so therefore I don’t think all of my eggs are in one basket what u think?
@@smokeu600 he is right...I dont know if you are in Russia or here in the States but it is glamorous until you actually have to do it...stay in school...get a REAL job...tooooooo many limitations, regulations, rules, horse crap a driver has to go through to make any money at it now...back when I started, you went out for a week...now drivers make fun of you if you are out less than a month and you do not bring home any more money from then to now... the price of fuel if you are an owner op...parts...trucks...will drive you out of business...and the damn democrats want even higher prices...you can not take your truck and trailer into the local fast food places to eat...so you either take what you can with you or you have to eat out of truck stops...so by 30 years old you will die from hardening of the arteries road rage or some fool out there not paying attention to what they are doing...
Private Name I’m here in the states, started driving when I was 20 that was 14 years ago. I make decent money but not as near as if I had finished college. Now I have a family that depends on me so I can’t quit and Pursue what I really want. My advice. Stay in school get a diploma and than go into trucking if you want. If it turns out you don’t like it you have your diploma to fall back on.
@@privatename1184 I agree with you on the blinding part but... my old truck had halogens and I couldnt see squat at night and I mainly drive at night. That being said I like being able to see at night with the new leds.
@@privatename1184 I don't drive truck for a living, but my car dose have led head lights. I'll tell you this. I have never had a issue with big rigs, and led head lights. Even in my sports car. Most truck headlights. Seem to be below or above main line of vision. Its the idiots that put led bulbs. In a halogen housing. That are the issues for me. Led lights in proper housing, and proper alignment. Don't blind people.
My dad’s 98 FLD-120 with a 12.7 Series 60 Detroit makes the same amount of money as 2020 as well. Those C15’s are bulletproof af. That thing is going to last you well over 1.2 million miles
Ezra begin me too, sitting in my company’s 2019 full loaded international lt, with my 1996 fld waiting for me back home. Hopefully this is my last month as company driver. Dude calling that 2016 old school made me think I own a Dinosaur!😂
2016 is old. Big truck fleets and many owners ops get rid of their trucks after 4 years for a reason. After the warranty is up and the truck has many miles on it, repair costs begin to climb quickly.
Just listening to this "million miler" and I realize he doesn't know jack shit about trucks or trucking. Sad state of affairs for trucking in general. At the wages these company drivers get paid this guy is all the carriers can look forward to.
Answering question about why new cascadias are more quiet. Not all of them. You had an upgraded one. They just put another layer of insulation inside of the cab, cheaper versions have the same insulation’s meaning it’s gonna be as loud as the older cascadia. Telling from my experience, there’s one video on my channel you can see second later of insulation.
I wish I could buy a Tripac for $3K. Try about $12k brand new from ThermoKing. I wanted to upgrade my Carrier until I found out the actual price. And if you think that truck is rough and old school try jumping into and early 2000's Freightliner FLD120. You'll appeciate that Cascadia.
Try finding some Spanish restaurants, like Noches de colombia or a peruvean restaurant, sometimes they offer a all lunch for like 8-10$ (M-F). better than eating 7/11 food n stuff like that.
@@smokeu600 my buddy has some older trucks and the steers don't wear even. he'll take them off the truck and use them for spare trailer tires. got to get your moneys worth. it's little cost saving things like that that keeps him in business.
My dad drives a '15 Cascadia, it has the Cummins ISX15 and that same Eaton Smart Shift, but his has a clutch pedal for start, stop and change between D, R and N... It has 280K miles and it's been constantly having transmission issues, once it got stuck on neutral while turning a very busy intersection on the middle of the highway. That truck has been very unreliable...
chris siano seriously , we have a small fleet in Australia pulling multi combinations to outlying areas servicing towns and have Mack’s a couple of Volvo’s and a couple of freightliners , seriously dude you can’t really compare the build quality of a freightliner to a Volvo , for a start the dash will eventually fall out of a freightliner , the build quality is chalk and cheese , and that’s coming from someone that actually appreciates the extra room of a century class . Mack build quality is second to the Volvo and kw are also up there as well , but my god if you think anything but the motor could touch a Volvo you must have glass smooth roads over there , because in Australia where we always pull more than one trailer kw and Volvo have proven the longest lasting Mack is somewhere a bit behind then the rest
@@gregshearer423. Yeah. I'm in New Zealand, and I love them. But this guy's a fucken idiot, whinging and bitching about a good truck that he's only driving for a couple of weeks.

Awesome, the fld was pretty much the most reliable easy to run truck ever, that was my first truck too fld120 classic, made me so much money and never ever broke down,I still have it as a backup truck
Fransisco Amaya vids show that these older cascadias can be misleading on the odometer - there is a way to look at true engine odometer navigating thru the computer somehow. Good vid Rusty -
I never seen a check engine light in a b model mack hahaha now that is old school no gps no radio no air conditioner no power steering welcome to the 50s
hey that fridge lock isnt actually a lock, its supposed to be used only when you're venting the fridge. you turn the lock and close the fridge, ur fridge wont close all the way and thats how its designed to keep the door from closing all the way so ur fridge vents out
the only auto I ever drove was a vacuum truck...dang thing wouldnt do over 45 and that was a steep down hill grade...should have heard all the people cussing me out going across 40 from Nashville to Memphis LoL...first big truck I took a mountain with a perma load of 79,800 at 60 miles per hour up...never had another truck that could do it again.
Jesus. Every truck I’ve driven was a 18 speed manual. I’m from Canada so we are lucky and we can haul way more than you guys down there can and really we just give er and live with it

I drove a 26ft Penske rental International for a friend who was moving from MA to Minneapolis. That thing was a slug. And I don't know why my friend got such a big truck. It was maybe 30% full. Topped out at 65mph and you had to PLAN any passing. This all without needing a CDL.
I think the reason why your clutch vibrates hard on forward and backward, its maybe because the clutch lining and clutch plate needs to be replace. It might be metal on metal.. and also release bearing might be stuck up as well.
Mike 538203 he is Nickle head crying driver he just don’t know shit about trucking. I would appreciate that cascadia if I was him.. luck I own 2013 cascadia more money and happy with it..
Fuss , fuss. You ought to drive what I started in , a Brockway screaming demon Detroit. Tight cab. Maybe 60 in a tail wind. Dad drove an old mack , no radio , heater , bolt down seat. I rode on the dog house when he picked up help. He drove for the old Caldwell company in Tampa. Miss the road. 🐻
Not me brother...too many weird people both in 4 wheelers, and in Big trucks these days...plus the DOT mandating so many new rules...they can keep it...OTR anyway...just before getting out of the business I worked for a company that delivered car parts to the dealers...great per week money and you are out mostly at night when the idiots are asleep...
