Company of Heroes 3 is finally upon us, and today we're kicking off some gameplay coverage with a let's play showcasing the Italian Campaign gameplay. This playthrough is being played in Fearless difficulty, and it will show off gameplay elements and mechanics pertaining to the real-time tactical battles as well as the turn-based campaign map elements that are exclusive to Company of Heroes 3. I absolutely love the reference to the original Company of Heroes with the presence of Sergeant (currently Corporal) Joe Conti. I know it's a small thing, but.. I have thousands of hours on that game, and the campaign is still one of my favorites of all time. It still feels like the units are on fast forward, though. I really wish they would've fixed that for the game.

Tanks won't fire while you have troops embarked on them, that's why you were feeling frustrated from how long it took to fire.( you can also see the circle indicator on your tank showing it isn't firing) I wouldn't want to be riding on a tank that fired its Main Gun either...you'd feel the shock something fierce.

Buckram's pronunciation is aggressively American, and Norton got Tropea (the stress is on the E) wrong, but overall they're not so bad at pronouncing Italian names. On the other hand, you pron is really quite good. You got Chiaravalle wrong, but that's objectively very difficult. As a rule of thumb, CH+E or CH+I are always hard K sounds, SC+E or SC+I are always SH sounds (as in shoe), and in general (exceptions apply) you tend to pronounce every single letter in every word.

I am all in for a Company of Heroes playthrough, especially since I finally decided to finish CoH1 campaigns. So happy to recognize names like Conti and MacKay. Also, PE picking the UK Indian company? Surprised Pikachu. But in all honesty, after reading Gurkha company and Self-propelled artillery, I'm more than on board (and I usually like to play artillery and tank heavy in most games). Also also, about pronouncing the towns, I would not sweat it, especially since you will have a Brit and a stereotypical Yankee general pronouncing Italian towns in their respective accents, so... while I wouldn't take them as guides on how to pronounce stuff, what's one more commander butchering the name? I guess the question is if you want to pronounce the names in English or in Italian 🤣 (full disclaimer, I speak zero Italian, but I speak Spanish, so... slightly close, I guess, but I HIGHLY DOUBT any of the generals are doing the pronouncing any justice.😅)

More likely prologue and first missions are heavily scripted, the ai could pose a sensible threat in past betas, no reason for that to change

It is Nyanko. BB3 is crawling with bugs right now. I have yet to be able to complete a match without it freezing or crashing, and the server lag is appalling.

I see the comparison works well. Patton an arrogant and aggressive sob and Montgomery was more cautious and needed to preserve his forces. The UK was nearing the limits of their manpower whereas the US was able to take more casualties and could replace them. The friction between the two generals was a serious issue for the Supreme commander.

This is very likely my strong english ancestry, but disregarding the British command requests smacks highly of arrogance when they've been fighting the war since day one and the American's only decided to get involved in 1941. The English *know* what they're doing - especially by this point.

How do you mean? LOS plays a role in the real time battles, and height advantages help grant greater line of sight, and better lines of fire too. In the opening mission our allied troops were granting us line of sight at times.

@@PartyElite Yes i saw that. But it appears that the devs returned to the old CoH 1 "perception circles" for lack of a better term. These simply uncover fog of war in a certain radius. Whereas in CoH 2 devs introduced real time LOS, like proper sight cones and relatively small awareness areas around a unit, depending on type. That was a great tactical feature that made CoH 2 a great deal better imho.
