Company of Heroes 3 on console - BETTER than PC? 

It's not that's surprising iron harvest released on console and that's basically company of heroes but dieselpunk

A new era for top-down strategy games on consoles is happening, and I like it. 👍 Miasma Chronicles, War Monglers and COH3 to name a few... good times!

C&C3: Kanes Wrath and RUSE both had excellent console versions too.

Very much looking forward to your blitzkrieg video. I've played that mod to death and I've always felt it deserved more exposure than I thought it had gotten. That, and the empire at war vids are super cool to see, those games were my childhood, along with many other rts games you have reviewed. It's always nice to see games I love so much being talked about again

Getting used to RTS on a controller? Oh Zade, Battle for Middle Earth 2 on the Xbox 360 did that for me over a decade ago...almost two decades ago oh god I'm OLD.

I have been wanting to play this game on my pc but unfortunately it has not gone on sale on steam so i was thinking of getting it on my ps5 as it is 50% off at the moment. This has been very helpful in my decision thank you :)

Interesting to see that it handles well on console. For me I see no advantage whatsoever, as I put my consoles in the desk next to my PC, so the couch thing doesn't apply. But its nice to see a successful port of the genre. Lets hope it brings more interest to it.

Waiting for these new console RTS games to arrive on the Switch. Seriously, I would gobble them all when they’re finally available here, although it might be a stretch considering the Switch’s underperforming specs. But still, Switch 2/Pro is coming up (hopefully), so, I hope these games will at least be ported there.

I'm kinda curious how do you select multiple units? Is there band box selection?

I know there's no crossplay between pc and console, but is it possible for crossplay between ps5 and xbox?

I love your channel because of sinilar taste in games and how nice you are. But your coh3 vids were funny. A positive review and then like 'oh wait, other people hate it?' and then progressively more damning reviews from you about the state if the game, micro transactions etc.

This is the second RTS I heard is good with a controller... what an age we live in...

I got two copies on sale, and my friend and myself are in love with this versión on xbox, easy to pick and the coop mission are fucking awesome and if you do not like controller you can connect mouse and keyboard

There's been quite a few console ports that have been made over the years. Command and conquer had Red Alert 3, Tiberium wars and Kane's Wrath, sup com 2 was another one, and RUSE. The problem is that the Xbox one era was pretty sparse with them, since they were thought of as niche games. As such, the community didn't have the chance to get new things.

You should look into SupCom 2 on console. I've never played it, but the community loves it and Chris Taylor often compares it to goldeneye 007, as one of the first RTS games to be ported successfully to console without being designed for it. I don't think the timeline supports that claim though. Also, wasn't one of the main selling points of Iron Harvest that it would eventually be fully playable on console and was designed for something like this. A lot of the features (such as the radial menus) that they teased for the console version seem to be in this game so they're probably toast

A friend of mine favorite game is the OG Command and Conquer and he only ever played it on console. Has a PC gamer i find that odd but has a C&C fan i find it awesome.

Active pause is nice buuuut I'd still use that with mouse and keyboard and my pc :) But if someone only has console - great news for them :)

My only complaints so far are the area select not being able to decrease in size (like praetorians) and the not very indepth tutorial, leading me to be at mission 4 on the African campaign before someone on stream told me how to upgrade a unit. Oh and the fact that console is already left behind PC and will be further behind in the coming months with no planned updates for console.

this is good and all but crossplay for a micro intensive rts like COH would be a disaster.. maybe in custom games only but definitely not in regular matchmaking

Not bad not bad, I was gonna give this a miss because it seems like a downgrade of Company of Heroes 2, but the fact you said the controller experience was so good, I think I might pick up a physical copy for the PS5.

As a PC Mouse & Keyboard player who avoids controllers like the plague, I LOVE radial menus, I wish more games would just use them on PC as well for M&KB, in a fast paced FPS holding down a button and flicking your mouse to 11 o'clock to quickly choose your RPG for a specific enemy, versus moving a finger awkwardly to a number key like 8 from WASD or slowly scrolling through your mouse wheel? Ugh. Or the clunky Half-Life way of cycling through categories, under number key 5 having your hive hand, ghostbusters laser and tau cannon all awkwardly lumped together, and then missclicking and choosing the wrong weapon, accidentally firing it when you're cycling and was too fast or too slow to choose one... (And Prey 2017 had the most ingenious one: An endless Spiral that looped back in on itself when reaching the end of your tools! Seriously that was so cool and worked like a charm) Radial menus need to become standard for all control schemes & platforms imo.

It looks so confusing to track, control units, and carry out actions .

CoH 3 was so bad on PC. Can't imagine it being good on console, especially when it's several patches behind the PC version, which is already in a horrible state as it is.

welp i rather have them fix the game balance and have basic function on the game instead of another port , in multiplayer there is no surrender option replays or more than few map , let's not talk about balance in this game, unbalance to the point of questioning your sanity if u are not following any broken meta , i played coh 1 and have 1k+ hours in coh2 multiplayer which is average by the way , and I do not recommend buying this if you going to buy it for multiplayer

This game needd players so pls bring crossplay if you have s console edition

0:55 consoles in my experience are for the standard AAA fare at least that's how they've always been for me my PC is for older games that never get a port PC exclusives and obscure indies otherwise it sits on my desk and doesn't get used

i will always say this RTS games dont belong on consoles ESPECIALLY very advance RTS games like COH if your wonder why COH3 is such a bad game that not only looks awful but also plays awful but also monetized to hell is because a LOT of casuals that will only play a few dozen hour are on console

6:30 A nice feature used a lot in isometric RPG's like Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Dragon Age, and Pillars of Eternity. You really can't play those games without the "pause" button. ⏯
