I grew up in Zamboanga City in the Philippines which is the only place in Asia where people speaks Spanish-based creole language (Chavacano which is broken Spanish). This makes me excited to learn more of Spanish. This video is so great. This is by far the easiest video to learn Spanish I've ever saw. It really helped me learn Spanish language deeper. Thank you so much! Thumbs up! ❤❤

I’d like to point out that “menos+adjective+que” is mostly used when the adjective is offensive or has a negative connotation. For example. “Yo soy menos idiota que tú” is a better sentence than saying “tu eres más idiota que yo”. Because using the second form, I imply that I’m an idiot too.

Muchas gracias. I have a question about a different topic , I've noticed that in some sentences like this "eres maestro" there isn't an a like in English. How would I know when to include un in spanish? Again I can't thank you enough for these lessons becoming bilingüe is a fantastic thing. Gracias.

If someone does something for work then we don’t use the “the” or “a” in Spanish. Solo eres artista. Not eres una artista
@thespanishchallenge
@thespanishchallenge 2 года назад
To add to that, you usually would use “un/una” when including an adjective after the profession. Such as, Él es un maestro bueno vs Él es maestro.

7:00 I just learned menos for telling time. “Son las dos menos cinco.” (To say it’s 1:55, but by saying it’s 5 mins til 2.) Can anyone confirm if menos is used commonly in this context? ¡Gracias muchas!
@svnflowerx1129
@svnflowerx1129 2 года назад
yes
@legallybidoof
@legallybidoof 2 года назад
Totally! Menos basically means "minus", so saying "Son las dos menos cinco" is like saying "its 2:00 minus 5" (eg. 1:55). There are definitely other contexts of it (in math, "younger brother" = el hermano menor, etc.)
