I'm currently watching your AIB videos, and you're the best Spanish teacher I've ever seen! I'm so glad to see you're still making videos, and will check all of them out after completing the AIB ones. Have you ever done a video about why, when, where and how you learnt Spanish yourself? I'd love to watch something about that. :) Thanks for all your efforts.

I’m glad you found my channel. I encourage my viewers to start with this channel. Main because I’m no longer associated with AIB and they control the content over there. That’s a great idea, I’ll have to add that to the list of videos to do. Thank you!

Hi! I am a Filipino studying Spanish at my college. As we knew in history, Philippines was a former colony of Spain and thus Spanish influence in terms of language and culture is evident in the Philippines. But even being at an advantage of being already familiar with Spanish words used in Filipino languages like Tagalog, I sometimes find it a challenge in learning Spanish since there are Filipino words that has different meaning in Spanish. I was surprised that “Caminar” when changed to “El Cambio” means “The Change”. “Cambio” filipinized as “Kambyo” refers the gearbox or the gear stick of a car in Filipino. Very different in Spanish. Another one was “Cantar” changing to “El Canto”. “Canto” filipinized as “Kanto” means Corner in Filipino. Very different in Spanish. This just suprise me.
@lofdan
@lofdan Год назад
Caminar means to walk. It isn't related to cambiar, meaning to change.

Please help me understand why the playlist says 138 videos but the last video says 126? I don’t comment on every video I listen to, but you Dr. Dan are a special amazing teacher. Thank you so much for these videos.

Is “el habla” kind of like “el agua” in that it takes a masculine article in the singular, but if it’s plural, it becomes feminine? I’ve noticed a lot of words that have a stressed “a” sound at the beginning, and an “a” on the end tend to behave like that, so just curious.

Something I am confused about is the difference between “el” and “lo”. It sounds simple but I keep running into things like “lo opuesto” or “lo mejor” And i don’t understand why it is “lo” and not “el”
