Thanks for this, it took me back. I bought a 1983 Lotus Excel in 1987 (still even remember the reg A108DCU) and kept it until about 2004. Have lots of stories and great memories of it. Also had lots of troubles too. It was impossible to work on, even just tightening the exhaust manifold required the rocker cover to be removed. Mine was white with blue/grey carpeted interior (even the dash was carpet) and in the end the gel coating on the fibreglass started to craze, one of the lights was temperamental and the doors seals went on it. I eventually sold it for about £900.
You asked some of the same questions again. Even I knew he said he didn't have the Lotus on his wall as a poster. It was the Esprit. Part of being a good host is not repeating the same questions. Otherwise it's decent.
