Just bought a Speeco E hitch. Looking for advice; fits my new Deere disc perfect. My 6 year old behlen box blade and old 25a Deere flail don’t fit. The 3 PT frame is too wide and lift pins can’t seat into speeco and frame rests on speeco. Any workarounds? Am I SOL? Likely will get a new box blade and sell old one. But my 25a works great and would rather not buy another. What flail works/seats into the speeco? I’m now too concerned about just ordering an implement and it not being able to fit.
Had my harbor freight for 16 years. Used on my BX2230 until 2016. Been on my B3200 for eight years. Have abused it as much as possible with a 6 foot Land Pride box blade cutting new roads thru woods. Have bent and broken scarifiers on rocks and stumps and the HF quick hitch just keeps pulling. None of the tractor guys ever talk about it. Surprising given how low the price is. I bought it new for $100. They’re only $134 now. To give the same info, weight is 61.4 lbs. Also, the manual says nothing about bushings and I’ve never used them with it.
Cat 1 to Cat 3 on Quick Hitch My theory on why the different sizes using the bushing is to #1, sell more parts, #2 is that in using the quick hitch over a period of time, the bushing becomes slightly burred. On the hitch that is of no concern. But if it was on the Cat 1 pin itself, you might have trouble putting the pin in the receiver ball socket if that was ever desired.
I can adjust mine side to side and up and down with pins in seconds and I don’t need bushings! I can hook up to anything that’s quickhitch in seconds. Unfortunately, the company no longer makes them.
Did you find that you had to buy a 5/8” top link pin? My “quick hitch compatible” box blade came with a 3/4” pin for that top link and it’s just big enough that it won’t fit through the holes in the Speeco. It wasn’t a big deal to get a 5/8” pin, but I was a bit surprised.
Do any of these hitches stand out above the others with respect to quality of materials & manufacturing? It is tough to tell from the video but it looks like the Worksaver *might* be a bit better made....?? Just curious as I can't see them in the flesh. Enjoy your channel very much!!
Howdy, the Worksaver and Speeco weigh the most. They are within a few ounces of each other. Most have strong support in the gussets too. Speeco doesn't need bushings. So, Speeco wins in my opinion.
What is the difference between the Speeco "E-Hitch" and Speeco's Category 1 "Quick Hitch"? They show both on their website. It looks like they both attach to a Category 1 tractors and hook up Category 1 implements. Other than color I don't see any other real differences.
Hi Courtney, thank you for the instructional videos you are regularly posting. Can you tell me what is the green rear ballast carrier in which you have put "suit-case" weights (time mark 06:00 on this video? Thank you, Ciao, L (Veteran, Morning Side & Star Shine Farms)
Great video. I’m interested in the Speeco, but I’ve been told that it will not fit over the balls on a Massey 2860m. Can you confirm that or provide measurements? Thanks.
You can see a Heavy Hitch dual weight bracket mounted in the Speeco in two videos below. So, it does fit. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--_ONGTRPIFk.html & ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NY-jH3ekXY8.html
@@richardfantom8963 It fits you just can’t get all the weights on inside rail. Gussets on QH get in the way. I emailed HH to find out. Landpride qh will clear the weights better
For the hitches that require bushings, would it be an option to just get the sleeve bushings that you could easily take on or off? Why are the bushings that use the roll pins needed? I can see where the roll pin style would be better in a lot of ways but if you're using the implement on a quick hitch tractor and on a non-quick hitch tractor, it would be difficult to remove that style bushing.
Great video. Tempting. I’ve never used a quick hitch. My left and right arms of the 3pt on my JD2210 aren’t exactly level, and the adjustment is frozen. Can’t move it even after soaking in Kroil, WD, Fluid. Would I still be able to connect to the speeco? Or do you have a better solution to level up my arms without buying the new adjustable link?
@@GoodWorksTractors Thanks to suggestions in the comments of one of my videos, my link is now functioning properly! I think I'm leaning toward the Speeco. How do I make sure I get one that doesn't require the bushings? If I order one from you next week, does it need the bushings?
Most post hole augers I know of don't use the top link, but rather have the post hole auger connect right to the base of the top link. Basically, you remove the top link from your 3 point and connect the auger frame to it instead.
@@GoodWorksTractors I get it, my question is that the quick mount is useless without the top link, therefore I guess it would be incompatible with an auger. When I saw the top link bracket (you removed from the hitch on the scale), I though it might act as a surrogate connection for the auger, just curious.
I wondered if I get a Hydraulic Top Link and a Quick Hitch would the Top Link need to be slighter longer or shorter than that is no quick hitch is used ?
I have a Woods GCT52 tiller for a compact tractor, it's 42 1/4" spread on the bottom (nonadjustable). Is there a quick hitch make for it? The machine it would be going on is a Kubota B2601. I'm new to quick hitches so forgive my ignorance.
Like the video my question is is a item is not stamped quick hitch compatible what advice can you give me to try if one will work with my attachment. Might be a stupid question but I am new to the tractor game so to speak thanks.
Howdy, that's why I gave the dimensions in the video. So you can compare the width of the lower links of these quick hitches to the attachments you have to see if they'll work for ya. Thanks for watching!
I know you didn't ask me, but here I go anyway... Totally NOT a stupid question, and I think you'll find that some folks don't ask it ahead of time and then get frustrated when their implements don't (appear to) work with a qh. (So now's the time to ask!) 👍 As I implied above, you might find that any given implement doesn't APPEAR to work with a qh (and sadly, there may be little chance of finding this out without actually having the pieces and trying to hook them up), but sometimes a new adapter and/or set of bushings is all you need to purchase to make it happen. Tractor forums (like on Facebook) are good places to find out what solutions are already out there. (And GWT is always a great resource too!) Hope this helps.

Can anyone tell me the difference between a Cat 2 and Cat 3 quick hitch? I can't seem to find any decent info online. Can a Cat 2 quick hitch fit on a JD 3232e?
GTW here is an idea that maybe you can get some manufacturers to fabricate... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uhxPtdXPA04.html These are the best forks, only makes sense to adapt to both ends of the tractor.
My thoughts on the lower bushings are just for additional adaptation to implement hitches that are not exact cat 1 width dimensions or pin size. Whether it be internal or external lower pin mounts. And with the shoulder no need to worry about snagging the lynchpin when hooking up. Also it’s easier to bush up than change pins to get to correct size.
@@russwilkins1622 correct. And with the bushing hitches they will not fit. But using the hitches with slots made for cat 1 pins folks will surely install the lynch pins
@@littlejackalo5326 correct. I was comparing adapter bushing w/roll pins to folks who just install large pins (I.e. CAT 3) and leave lynch pins installed. When they hook up they beat up the lynch pins. usually only once this happens 🤬😆
I just got a LandPride QH15 and damn are they nice to use. Make everything 99x faster and easier but I got a L4060 kind of pushing the limits of Compact into Utility size so I have to dismount walk around and lock down the hitch. Cant reach bbehind and lock it. Too damn far away.
Great video ! I learned a lot , measurements also very helpful . Plan on getting a quick hitch and just started to research, but I was think why couldn't one just add a sleeve / bushing / piece of black pipe to the existing pin and tack weld to hold into place . Speeco does look like the way to go though .
Thank you for your review! I would add a very important point. One of the most important thing when choosing a quick hitch is to consider wich one has the shorter distance between the lower hook and 3 point tractor side pin hole. The shorter is the distance, the better it is to keep your accesories neer your tractor. You don't want any unecessary inches between the tractor and your accessories. I think that having larger hook diameter give you the chance to install bigger tool and also beign able to install the Cat. 1 tools ? Very good review, lot of information ! Thanks !
@Good Works Tractors The bushings are there for some older hay equipment that use the 3-point hitch as a two point hitch system. In my opinion, it would be cheaper and more efficient to change the pins on that equipment than to buy bushings for everything else. It's also unlikely that sub-compact tractors will be using said equipment. On top of that, I'm not sure any of that stuff would actually be usable with a quick hitch in the first place. I would assume that most of the quick hitches are made the way they are, because they copied John Deere. John Deere most likely did that because they wanted that backwards compatibility.
This is a great video, but you also need the inside/outside wall dimensions of the quick hitch frame because when you have an attachment like a box blade, that wall needs to fit inside of that pin area just like the hooks. I purchased a quick hitch based on the inside/outside hook widths and then got it home only to realize the hooks fit fine but the outside wall dimensions were too wide for my "quick hitch compatible" box blade.
I use my quick hitch on all my equipment without them bushings. Works just fine of them 7/8 pins that are on the equipment. Saves money and easier if a neighbor needs to borrow a piece of equipment and doesn't have a quick hitch.
Im happy without. Especially since my equipment doesnt stand on its own. Also im using cat 2 and 1.5. I say 1.5 since ive switched the 7/8 lift pins to 1 1/8 lift pins so i dont need bottom bushings and my boom pole gramps built so i dont believe it conforms to cat 1 spacing
Why would anyone buy it? You can nearly buy two of the Speeco's for the price of one Land Pride. Kubota orange is becoming the new John Deere green. They think they can charge anything they want and get away with it.
I decided to get those because I don't need the bushings. Thanks Courtney for the direction and the great educational videos! They are why I bought both forks and the quick hitch from you. You make me feel confident in what I am buying.
Why You do not want to ship to Europe, we do not understand. We are buying sometimes from the US and there is no problem, of course there is a transport cost but we pay it all in advance. Best regards.
I have never said I don't want to ship to Europe. The last quote I got to ship a quick hitch to the UK was $1,300 USD. So, if you're willing to pay freight cost, then I'm happy to ship 🤣👍
It's simple really... they only make one model and call it CAT I/II/III based on the hitch pins they install in it. There are always tradeoffs. The Speeco is much better built, but the CAT I ears means you'll never be able to pick up anyone else's attachment. (and after a few years, those roll pins don't come out!)
Hello, Thanks for all the great videos, I always learn something. I would have preferred to have purchased my quick hitch from you, just because of all the good advice I have received from you. But I am sure the shipping to Nova Scotia would be a bit steep. I picked up my Speeco quick hitch yesterday and can't believe the difference. In some ways it is even easier than the quick attach on the front loader. All the best to you and your family, Ben from Nova Scotia
I'm sorry. I may have missed it because my Wife was telling me something while I was watching your video with my earbuds in. But did you say how much the Red/Orange Speed Hitch cost? And will it fit my new 2020 MX 5400 HST, 4 WD KUBOTA? I've got to purchase one. Thank you?
Thanks for the video. I just bought a Harbor Freight 3pt quick hitch. Unfortunately it didn't fit. The draw connection (I quess that's what it's called) was too wide. So I guess I need a cat 2 or 3. Any suggestions?
Anyone ever used the Speeco with a JD2520? Does anyone know if the Speeco will work with a JD2520? Also i’m not understanding why when you use the Speeco they say you dont need bushings but dont explain further why not? Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you
I have the Titan one it's got the pins with spring loaded clips the clips flew off within the first one minute of using it I replaced the pins with half inch bolts
I'm thinking get a cheep one and weld some plate on each side to fit it to size without bushings then do some fill weld and just permanently fix it lol
