Since I already owned a Sophie cosplay from MicCostumes, I thought it might fun to compare my recently handmade one versus the purchased one! Just remember that handmade isn't superior to store-bought, they're just different things! My favorite thing about handmade is that they can be cheaper materials wise (they just take a lot of time qq)

Thank you so much for comparing!! I'm planning on cosplaying Sophie but I always have trouble with storebought cosplays because I'm just outside of the smallest women's sizes (I'm 4'10" and ~105 lbs.) so I have been trying to make my cosplays a lot more to get the measurements exactly the way I like them. I've been using your videos to help me decide as o whether or not I should make the dress or buy the miccostumes one, but your handmade dress is so lovely that I think it's definitely helped me decide which would work best for me!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

I assume that type of fabric practially every pre made costume uses is super cheap and that's why they use it? I can't fathom why it would get picked otherwise, my brother has one made like that and it's just looks off cause of the fabric.

well it's strange because the fabric I used for mine was pretty cheap too, under $5 a yard. I wonder if they can just get better bulk pricing by making everything out of the same material, just dyed to different colors(?) Lately doki doki SR and higher quality has been using other stuff though which is really cool
