1:38 Irakli celebrated his win against John like it was the best day of his life, while when Ongarbaev won his demeanor was like "Just another day in the office". I love that about him. The world might go down, but he always keeps his composure. If I had to pick a winner, I would say it would be Kydirgaly. The way he won against Mike without even losing his wrist and in an "easier" way then Revaz (and maybe even Genadi) did was just so impressive. However I think it will be a very close match.
The contrast of MMT and Ongarbayev was wild. It's impressive to maintain composure that well when competing at such a high level, doesn't waste any energy
Great content Ryan! Irakli vs Ongarbaev will be an awesome match! I have a lot of respect for Irakli after seeing him in John’s corner at KOTT 6. I think Irakli may have a slight advantage with the power he has. The dude is ridiculously strong for his size! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I sometimes go back and watch the weight training footage from him in Dubai with Larry and just... wow. What a monster. Thanks for the support, it was great to see you in the live chat!
Congrats to 1000 subscribers man! If I had to pick, I think Ongarbayev will win. I think he is too aggressive for Irakli to get his shoulder behind enough once in the deadwrist press
Thank you, Lagia! Love the support you've given the whole time. Speed/aggressiveness may be the determining factor here - for both athletes since Irakli is no slouch himself. This is why I like to stay in the heavyweights... they're slower lol
In my mind Ongarbaev is still the best pound for pound puller at the moment... just insanely good technique & versatility, and has the ability to find the right adjustments even if he loses the first couple rounds. Endurance is on Devon's level, and hell of a hand/wrist. It'll be a good match in any case but I have to give the edge to Ongarbaev -- right up there as one of my favorite pullers.
That's kinda where my head is at - I can see Irakli taking the first one or two, but then I don't know. Ongarbayev just has so many tricks, and you can bet he's watching all the tape and has the whole Kazakhstani team helping him prepare. Thanks for your input, great to see you in the livesteam too!
Hey Ryan are you planning on coming to Maine States Arm Wrestling Championship April 1st in Bangor? Our team, Twin City Pullers, is hosting it. Would love to see you there. We have nice custom hammers and some small cash prizes. Also I put up $1,000 each for the overall left hand and right hand winners. We have had a few bigger names say they may come but not sure if they'll make it.
I think I'm leaning towards Ongarbaev but I don't know! What an amazing match either way. I could see Irakli winning as well. I think this match will be a war, hope so anyway. Engin seems to know how to pick great matches.
True. Mostly, people would start making content and will hit and miss with the topic. The editing quality would be low and after some time after one starts gathering some subscribers, the learning curve will hit and the quality gets better. But Ryans video were good from day one. Keep it up, Ryan! Subscriber's number will increase for sure.
Good point about versatility, Irakli is going to have to beat all the different lanes Ongarbayev can throw at him. I can see Irakli taking round one then it turns into a war
I think it’ll be close. Also we have to factor in that Irakli didn’t lose his hand immediately in round 1 and was able to hit few times whereas Ongarbaev lost his hand immediately but was able to adapt in later rounds.
100% Ongarbaev wins this match, even Levan has doubt that Irakli can beat Ongarbaev. Ongarbaev hands pretty much don't gassed out as Levan stated. John doesn't have the side pressure like Ongarbaev that's why John couldn't finish Irakli's flop. Endurance will come into play with this match, Ongarbaev will overcome Irakli.
Good insight there, rough when your training partner has doubts. But Irakli will put on a show, we know that much, so I'll be glued to the screen. Does the fact that MMT pressed him concern you?
@ryan_turner nope, may work once but not twice with Ongarbaev. That dude adjusts on the fly and adapts quickly to any style. Honestly I think MMT got a stronger press than irakli, and he was only able to do it once. ongarbaev and his whole shardara team stud his opponent, they don't play around. Ongarbaev takes this one guaranteed!
