This is very interesting information, what made the Mesopotamia (Uruk) civilizations superior is that they were secular and much more materialized than the Egyptians. That led a tremendous expansion in art, literature, military and cultural innovations and our civilization nowadays is more or less a continuity of those civilizations What made the Egyptian civilization more familiar to us and more impressive in taking us toward the past is the same reason that made it less productive and less contributory in its actual time which was their belief in after life, when they preserved everything, even their kings their belief what brought their civilization to us
@dr.ahmednaji1136
@dr.ahmednaji1136 3 года назад
Two important things to mention is that there are some documentations that show Egyptian civilization was founded by Sumerian and Akkadian people, another thing is that there is no evidence that Khufu had built the biggest pyramid

@@R2d2.. That is not how DNA works. Yes modern Egyptians have more Sub-Saharan DNA, but it does not mean that is why a Black person has Egyptian ancestry. But they also descend from ancient Egyptians. My results simply means someone in my family lineage mixed with an Egyptian person possibly. Both ancient and modern Egyptians do not just come from the Levant, most of them also have ancestry from native North Africans if you look at the DNA.

I wouldn't say that Mesopotamia had "different cultures," in fact, the only unifying factor in Mesopotamia was their culture. I believe it would be more precise to say that Mesopotamia was separated by their staunchly independent city states. Keep in mind, these city states, especially early on in the Sumerian era, weren't made up of different people, but merely had different institutions ruling each city. Of course, this is not to say that Mesopotamia remained made up of just one ethnic group or people, and I'm sure if you're watching this video you'd know what I'm talking about. Point is, culture was pretty much the same throughout Mesopotamia for much of it's history, but governments split.

The Egyptian civilization is a funerary civilization. We notice their interest in tombs and embalming after death. As for the Mesopotamian civilization, it was religious and interested in building ziggurats, specifically the Babylonian civilization, which is considered the link with the metaphysical power to obtain its satisfaction for the prosperity of the country. The Mesopotamian civilization is advanced at all levels. But the two civilizations are adorable.

You are definitely reaching a bit to make a connection between Queen Hatshepsut and the Babylonian priestess. They are totally different. Hatshepsut actually was a Pharaoh, who actually ruled as pharaoh over Egypt, she was not a priestess that was as powerful as a pharaoh, she was a pharaoh. In Mesopotamia the priestesses could never be king or queen or lugal or any other name for a leader of the people.

The earliest known Sumerian texts are dated to around 3400-3300 BCE, while the earliest known Egyptian hieroglyphs from the tomb U-J are dated to around 3200-3100 BCE. But, due to the error margins, it cannot be said conclusively which one is older. However, we are talking about the earliest KNOWN or DISCOVERED writing, who the hell knows when was the earliest actual writing in either of those cultures? On top of that, Egyptian and Sumerian writing are so different from each other, that they most likely developed independently from each other, and whichever was developed first was most likely due to sheer chance. I don't see why anybody should seriously care which one of them was actually developed first. They were both developed independently around the same time.
@afrominer123
@afrominer123 Год назад
@@firstaidsack yeah, why do they try to fit Egyptian history into Sumerian history when the ancient Egyptians civilization was far more advanced. Up until around the 25th century bce the Sumerian king list was mythological. Gunter Dreyer says he has definitively dated Egyptian writing and that the dates for Sumerian writing are inconclusive and the Kish tablet is undeciphered, as far as we know that’s some mess Charles Woolly or Jules Oppert drew in the mud. Maybe they want to give priority to Mesopotamia because Abrahamic mythology places his origins there. Or maybe they don’t want to give Africa credit for the achievement? Why would someone invent piltdown man? And why would the inventors of the hoax be knighted?
