that was a great game. Flip was pushing the limits on his swings early. Excellent editing to leave the conversation by Dedonitas Jr and Cooper in there to discuss the ball problem. MPT is a handful.. bad balls or not.

Not allowed in conference/major softball. Rule was changed 5 years ago. Can't deceive by taking speed off your swing to hit a grounder.

You cannot have intent to hit a slow grounder in conference play. It is a safety situation. We don't want infielders having to play inside the bases with 110 mph shots coming at them. He knows this. This has been the rule for 5 years now.

Interesting that they called Flip out on that seeing how he's done it numerous times before and it wasn't a problem. But based off the definition they gave during the broadcast of that game, wouldn't a "judy" swing be the same thing? I mean we've seen guys use that half swing to hit backside or to just dump it right over the infield to get a base hit. How's that any different from what Flip did?

@@USSSALIVE If that is the case then I agree 100%, but then what about pitchers getting hit at with those same 110mph shots? Unless I'm not seeing what happens behind the scenes, wouldn't they be in the same if not worse position than an infielder?
