A sketchbook tour / journal flipthrough of my entire finished nature journal for 2022 with commentary. This year was my first year recording the entire process of making a nature journal for RU-vid.

"What journal is that?"
This is a "Birds of a Feather" Storyteller journal by Lotus Blu Book Art. It has gold leaf deckled edges and contains Khadi paper.
"How did you stain the pages?"
The pages are stained with botanical inks by Bohemian Raspberry Art. I prestained them in varied patterns before starting the journal. You can see more of them in my journal set-up video for 2022:

"What do you paint in?"
I paint in a mixture of botanical inks, Derwent Inktense, and various watercolours. My favourite botanical inks are by Bohemian Raspberry Art, find them in her shop here:

"What do you film with?"
I use a GoPro Hero9 mounted above my desk on a mic stand and the GoPro handlebar mount. For wildlife shots, I usually use my Nikon Coolpix P1000.

This is so imaginative and inspirational! So many great ideas to borrow. I really liked your monthly weather/mood pages, but I agree, adding the temperatures would be an improvement. I found myself reveling in the variety of subject matter and the many mediums you used. You are one of the most creative people I have ever encountered.

Loved it! Thank you so much. Exceedingly difficult to choose a favorite so choosing a few: October month pages with fall leaf color, hand feeding robin and in flight, double page swan with gold leaf, and of course, the pages dedicated to your grandmother. And the seeds near the end. What a treat!

I usually say that algorithms are an anathema, but you turned up! Your work is gorgeous! I use lots of pressed botanical in my junk journals, but I am just learning watercolor. The combination of watercolor and pressed botanicals is amazing. The gold leaf is also wonderful, I have used waxes in the past, but I will go back to some of my botanical collages and add the gold leaf. It really brings things to life. Thank you for sharing, the entire journal is beautiful and I will share it with friends.

I have a love/hate relationship with algorithms. They are a pain when they change, but also without them I am fully aware my Instagram explore/home page would be all celebrities and pouty selfies instead of art 😄 I also am very glad the algorithm recommended me to you, thank you for your comment and for sharing.

Wow, such a beautiful journal and lovely journey to go through and relive it all. ☺️ It's so hard to pick a favourite but I think mine is the underwater scene, especially with the gold leaf! Actually the gold leaf additions add so much pop! I also like your landscapes and collage with the flower pressing mixed with painting elements. Such as the pink (campion?) on the cliffs with the pink paper on the landscape painting, from the isle trip. Really looking forward to seeing your next project this year! Funny how you liked the underwater scene, which I wasn't so happy with, though i do think the gold leaf did help 😅 The pink flower on the cliff with the collage was thrift. Merging collage in was a new thing in my journals for 2022 and I think it does work with this sort of wet-media sketchbook 😊 New expeiments planned for 2023. Wonderful! I absolutely love it. I love your bird, insect and beach landscape paintings but everything is so beautiful. Looking back through this is like a memory for me too and I can't believe how fast that year went. Really looking forward to your next journal :)

I Loved it and your calming commentary. The goldleaf was gorgeous. Never tried that, but may have to now. Every page was beautiful and created your memories as you said.
